Real Earnings Management in Family Group Affiliation: A Research Proposal
Financial frauds and reporting quality of annual reports continue to be topics of interest in business and accounting research. Financial manipulations involving both Accrual Earnings Management (AEM) and Real Earnings Management (REM) are getting the attention of both the corporate sector and the public due to the continuing complexity of business structures and arrangements. To date, research on managing real earnings through business group affiliation is still scarce and largely unexplored especially in developing countries. Previous studies suggest that family group affiliation contribute to the earnings manipulation. This is a major concern in Malaysia since more than fifty per cent of its publicly own companies are dominated by family group businesses. This unique characteristic and the limited research on REM provide the main justifications for this study. The primary objective of this article is to present the literature on REM and propose a new research model to further highlight the influence of family group affiliation on REM activities in listed companies. The new research will cover a ten-year period from year 2006 until 2015 which coincides with different market conditions. These different environments may affect REM practices differently and the findings are expected to provide new insight on REM behaviour of family group affiliated companies in different market conditions. This study will enhance awareness and knowledge of REM and assist policy makers in improving the current governance mechanisms thus, strengthening the regulations and governance strategies in the capital market
Key Money (Badl Al-Khulu): An Islamic Perspective
The key money (badl al-khulu) refers to the amount that one pays to the other who forgoes his/her right to enjoy the usufruct of the real estate like house, shop and others. This paper intends to study the legal status of exchanging key money from the perspective of Islamic law. The study is qualitative in nature and an analytical method is employed to accomplish the study based on both classical and modern references of the topic. The study finds that the exchange of key money could be between the tenant and the landlord or between the current tenant and the subsequent tenant, or among all these three parties. If the exchange of key money is made during the lease period then it is permissible. However, if it is made after expiry of lease period then it is invalid because after termination of the right of tenant the landlord is more entitled to his/her possessions and he/she may do whatever wishes. Nevertheless, if the landlord consents to the exchange of key money, and the tenant makes a new lease agreement with him, then the exchange of key money is valid despite the expiry of the lease period

Penggunaan Strategi Pembelajaran Kosa Kata Bahasa Arab Pada Kalangan Pelajar Cemerlang
Kaedah Pengajaran Dan Pembelajaran Al Quran : Kajian Di Masjid Unisza
Jibril a.s kepada Rasulullah SAW ketika mula-mula menyampaikan wahyu pertama
Kitchen Cabinet Door Material Replacement for Flood-Prone Landed House in Kuala Nerus, Malaysia
This paper reveals an analysis of the replacement of raw material for
kitchen cabinet doors, which has always been an annual conversation amongst the
householders of flood-prone landed houses in the city of Kuala Nerus, Terengganu,
Malaysia. The use of existing raw materials in the production of a kitchen cabinet
door like plywood, high pressure laminate (HPL), melamine faced chipboard (MFC),
or medium density fibreboard (MDF) by the local furniture manufacturers in the state
seems to be unable to solve some of the major environmental issues, such as floodcauses
damage of the doors, decomposition of the doors due to termites and high
humidity factors, and raw materials on the damaged doors are unrecyclable. We
compile this study in the applied research category, where there are two types of
research procedures have been used, namely quantitative and qualitative methods. In
the context of this study, quantitative methods are dominant. Primary data for this
study is obtained from a pre-test stage via participant observational technique with
time sampling practice and non-random standardised aka a structured interview
technique; meanwhile, secondary data of the study is collected from literature review
through relevant printed and electronic sources. To make this study a success, we
implement six footsteps of the industrial design and development processes,
consisting of design ideation for mind map thumbnail, design development for
conceptual impression, design refinement for detailing expansion, design software for
digital production, workflow for product making, and completion for the outcome of
the study that is a full-scale finished model of indoor home kitchen cabinet doors
made of polypropylene based honeycomb structure with thick aluminium frame
developed from sustainable-and-impressive-design concept, which is the best suited
to the 4G type kitchen cabinet that is a long-term trend and gets high demand
amongst the householders in the city

Assessment of AHP for optical observatory and new moon sighting sites in peninsular of Malaysia
The aim of this study is to select the best location for astronomical observations sites using Multi Criteria Decision Analysis integrated with Geographical Information System (GIS). To solve these problems, four factors were determined which are elevation or slope, road network, population density and land used. These factors were divided into two categories namely geographical and anthropogenic criteria. The factors were evaluated using Analytical Hierarchy Process technique and the weights of variables were determined. The study matched the layer on the optical observatory and moon sighting sites. As the result, this study showed the most suitable areas were located extensively in eastern and southern part of Peninsular Malaysia. However, the final decision of this study, site testing measurement will be required in these preliminarily selected areas
