Environment Parameter Of Successful Edible Bird Nest Swiftlet House In Terengganu

    No full text
Most edible bird nest (EBN) swiftlet farming industry enterpreneurs suffered losses due to lack of knowledge in providing the right environmental parameter factors in their EBN swiftlet houses as EBN production is influenced by various environmental parameter factors such as air temperature, surface temperature, relative humidity, light intensity, internal and external sound levels in swiftlet houses. This study compared environmental parameter factors in coastal, rural and urban areas in Terengganu to investigate environmental parameter factors that play a critical role in determining the success of a swiftlet ranching venture. Air and surface temperature, relative humidity, light intensity, and sound level were recorded in 30 EBN swiftlet houses in three different area; 10 in coastal, rural and urban area in Terengganu respectively. Mean EBN and individual swiftlet population were 81 nests, 210 individuals in rural; 53 nests, 137 individuals in coastal and 23 nests, 59 individuals in urban area. Rural area houses had most suitable range for swiftlet adaptation. EBN production was significantly higher in swiftlet houses with suitable environmental factors such as air and surface temperature were 30.1oC, relative humidity 83.7%, light intensity 0.16 lux, with sound 47dB (internal) and 68dB (external). As such, rural areas will be most productive to build EBN swiftlet house

A Survey Of Malay Genome Project (MGP) From Malaysian Perspectives

    No full text
The purpose of this study is to examine understanding and significance of MGP research from the perspective of academicians of public universities in Malaysia using the exploratory sequencial mixed method i.e. structured interview and questionnaire. Apparently, the findings demonstrate that knowledge and exposure related to MGP research among academicians from Malaysian public universities are still limited since such study is regarded exclusive in nature. In addition, the main focus of MGP research has been on genetic structure of the Malay population in Malaysia and also medical benefits it may offer such as diagnosing genetic diseases which have been pioneered by researchers from the University Science of Malaysia (USM) and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia

Feasibility Study Of Vacuum Technology Integrated Fused Deposition Modeling To Reduce Staircase Effect

    No full text
Fused deposition modeling (FDM) is currently one of the most used AM technologies and has been around in various industries since its tremendous offering. Most semi-molten layered thermoplastic surface often uneven, which lead to rough and poor surface finish. The FDM process involves temperature gradient since the material extrude was in a semi-molten state. The thermal stresses present and affect the surface quality. This paper proposes an idea of using vacuum technology to reduce the “staircase effect” parts printed. The FDM machine remains in a rectangular acrylic chamber, an oil-flooded-vacuum pump connected will absorb the air inside the chamber until desire pressure while printing object. Mitutoyo SJ-301 portable surface roughness tester and optical microscope used to analyze the quality of surface finish. Result reveal with vacuum technology, improve 9% from normal print

Status Of Population, Occupation And Seasonal Habitat Displacement Of Alien Bird Species In West Java Tropical Forest, Indonesia

    No full text
“Invasive Species” is defined as an alien species that is non-native (non-indigenous, foreign or exotic) to a particular ecosystem. Commonly, they are intentionally or unintentionally introduced into an ecosystem. It is suspected that the discovery of a population of Finch-billed Myna in the forest of West Java resulted from the indirect influence of the bird trade. This bird is one of the endemic birds in Indonesia. Commonly, the Finch-billed Myna is a resident bird in Sulawesi islands. However, we found them in Tangkuban Parahu Mount, West Java. The population of Finch-billed Myna in Tangkuban Parahu Mount is 17-24 individual of three group colonies. The occupation areas are Abria, Awi leuga and Manggu. The vegetation density is higher than Myna’s former habitat (0,055 ind/m2) and Myna’s recent habitat (0,028 ind/m2)

A structural equation model for evaluating user’s intention to adopt internet banking and intention to recommend technology

    No full text
Although several prior research projects have focused on the factors that impact on the adoption of information technology, there are limited empirical research works that simultaneously capture technology factors (UTAUT2) and customer specific factors (perceived technology security and intention to recommend) helping users adopt internet banking. Thus, the current study aims to develop an integrated technology adoption model with extended UTAUT model and perceived technology security to predict and explain user’s intention to adopt internet banking and intention to recommend internet banking in social networks. A quantitative approach based survey was conducted to collect the data from 398 internet banking users. For statistical analysis, structural equation model (SEM) approach was used. Convergence and divergence with earlier findings were found, confirming that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, hedonic motivation and perceived technology security had significant influence on user’s intention to adopt internet banking. Additionally, IPMA analysis show that among all constructs hedonic motivation and perceived technology security had the highest impact on user’s intention to adopt internet banking. For researcher, this study provides a basis for further refinement of technology adoption model while for practitioner improving security factor (perceived technology security) may turn users towards adoption of internet banking

WIND SPEED ON ULTRA HIGH FREQUENCY (UHF) OF RADIO SIGNAL

    No full text
East coast of Peninsular Malaysia has received average wind speed up to 55km/h which equivalent to 15.4m per second and 30 knot, especially during monsoon. These circumstances had affected the radio signal by degrading its strength and quality. This study observe the relationship of wind speed and radio signal in Ultra High Frequency band. The statistical spearman correlation were applied and graph relationship of two variables were plotted in order to investigate these two variables. The measurement were done at 24 hour in February and July 2016 at Kusza Observatory. Analysis of result shown that high correlation strength (r = 0.555) was indicated in first of observation (1-O) at frequency of 382.5MHz. No high correlation were quantified in second of observation (2-O). These findings related to the observed high wind speed which is brought high of water vapor, hence attenuating the radio signa

Air samples were collected at an urban site and a rural (BERQESH) site during February (2017) until March (2017) to determine concentrations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in Air. The extraction process was done by using Soxhlet apparatus and methylene chloride as solvent. The sample clean up step is performed by solid phase extraction. The analysis of PAHs samples are carried out by GC/MS. Low molecular weight PAHs dominated in all samples such as acenaphthylene, fluorene and anthracene, while high molecular weight PAHs was not detected. The total mean PAHs concentration in summer in Rural Area (92ng/m 3 ) is higher than that in winter (46 ng/m 3 ). In addition, PAHs total mean concentration in the day time is higher than that in the night time. The total mean PAHs concentration in summer in Urban Area (124 ng/m 3 ) is higher than that in winter (75 ng/m 3 )
