Effect of styrylpyrone derivative (SPD) and SPD/foscarnet combination towards virus infected cell
A styrylpyrone derivative (SPD) known as goniothalamin is a compound isolated from Goniothalamus
umbrosus. Herein, we showed SPD inhibition of human herpes virus type-1 (HHV-1) infection. In addition, the possible
mechanism of anti-HHV-1 activity was proposed through a combination treatment between SPD and commercial antiherpetic drug, Foscarnet (PFA)
Characterisation of Cellulose Nanofibres Derived from Chemical and Mechanical Treatments
Optimised routes have been established to obtain high aspect ratio cellulose microfibrils derived from plant
feedstocks, involving a combination of a chemical and mechanical treatment using a high pressure microfluidizer. By
this means, nano-cellulose was produced using different pretreatment protocols. The nanofibres produced were
characterised for its particle size distribution measurement (laser diffraction and zeta potential analysis) and fourier
transform infrared for its structural analysis. Results obtained and subsequent trends observed in chemical,
mechanical and chemo-mechanical treated nanofibres were compared and contrasted. The chemomechanical
treatment (TEMPO-oxidation and high pressure microfluidisation) yielded higher aspect ratio nanofibrils than
nanofibrils made by solely chemical or mechanical treatment
Modelling the contribution of CO2 emissions from fuel used on total CO2 emissions at power generation in Indonesia
For electricity production, humans use fossil fuels, such as coal, fuel oil, diesel oil, and gas. The use of these fuels is a
major source of greenhouse gas emissions, especially carbon dioxide (CO ) gases. In this paper, we have proposed the
model of CO emissions from the fuel used to total CO , in electricity production in Indonesia. Modelling is done by
using multiple linear regression, while the parameter estimation is done by using ordinary least square method (OLS).
The data used are CO emissions in million tonnes of greenhouse gas generations for the period of 2000-2015. Based
on the results of the analysis, it can be seen that the contribution of CO emissions from the fuel used, to total CO
emissions in electricity production significantly follows the multiple linear regression model. The total of CO
emission prediction by using estimated model estimator, yields mean absolute error (MAPE) of 0.01026323. These
concludes that the prediction data is very close to the actual data
Retpoline technique for mitigating spectre attack
The Speculative execution (Spectre) is a chip attempting to predict the future to improve the system performance
which involves multiple logical branches. It will start working out the math for all those branches before the program
even has to decide between them. Normally, it works together with caching which is to speed up the memory access
by filled with the data that will need some and often the output of the speculative execution is stored here. The
speculative execution and caching in the operating system improve the overall system and operating system
performance through the prediction of data or resources to be used and cache memory for quick access to data or
resources. The problem arises where this function could allow potential attackers to get access to data they should not
have access to by exploiting Spectre attack which also known as side-channel attack and Meltdown. Spectre attack and
Meltdown open up the possibilities for dangerous attacks which involved the breach of security and confidentiality of
the user. Various techniques and patches have been introduced to mitigating the Spectre attack and Meltdown. In this
project, we study the technique used to mitigate the Spectre attack variant 2 introduced by Google called Retpoline
technique in the networking virtualised environment
Integration into treatment programs for children with autism spectrum disorder vision and application
Autism spectrum disorder impairs the normal growth of children in the fields of social and
emotional thinking and interaction and verbal and nonverbal communication skills, thus affecting
their ability to communicate with others and not to interact and integrate with their social
environment, often resulting in hostile behaviors or self-harming and abusive responses Others.
Children with autism spectrum disorder need to diversify into therapeutically approaches; A
single treatment method may not be effective in treating all types of disorders and problems in
this sample of children. Therefore, this paper seeks to present the vision of integration and the
conclusion of its applications in the treatment programs provided to children with autism
spectrum disorder through the integration of theory Pivotal response and Higashi Method, The
results concluded that the integration of treatment programs for children with autism spectrum
disorder is a necessary and effective therapeutic intervention in the development of social
interaction skills, the mitigation of unwanted behaviors, the integration of children with disorders
Autism spectrum in the surrounding environment, as recommended by the research to build
complementary therapeutic programs and test their effectiveness and impact on this group of
children
Confusion in design and facilities of layout plan: GMP requirements
The effectiveness of the food safety system is influenced by design and facilities layout. The purpose of this study is to identify the confusion over design and facilities requirement in food premise on GMP MS 1514:2009 requirements among industries, consultants and authorities. Among the aspects discussed regarding design and facilities are location design and layout, floors, walls, doors and windows. The methodology used is through questionnaires involving 96 respondents and respectively, 32 from each group. The confusions are grouped into low. medium and high based on the method established. The results show them were confusion in the requirements of design and facilities regarding location, design and layout, floors, walls, doors and windows. There were significant confusions in meeting the requirements of the design and facilities among industries, consultants and authorities. The authorities are found to contribute to the highest confusion followed by industries and consultants. The causes of confusion over design and facilities to industries, consultants end authorities have been discussed. Among the possible factors that contribute to confusion are lack of experiences, availability of technical guideline and reference documents, training effectiveness and understanding of the requirements. The confusion that occurs affects the level of hygiene and food safety as well as harm consumers
The historical development of orientalism movement in Malaysia: An analysisal-takfir according to ahl al-sunnah wa al-jama'ah and its relation to national unity
This study attempts to analyse orientalist movement in Malaysia, especially, their thoughts which are supposed to influence the Malaysian society. This movement was related to the colonization of Malaysia by the Portuguese, Dutch and English. The they collected all information from books and manuscripts to be adapted as academic research with orientalist will
Readiness to exhibit organizational citizenship behaviour among local government employees: A demographic analysis
Local government, being the manager of urban environment, ranked last under the
Malaysia government structure after Federal and State governments. The main function of
local government is to stimulate economic growth and social development of a district.
However, the operational roles that these local governments supposed to portray have to
some extent do not meet the public expectations, resulting in various complaints being filed
through various channels as compiled by Public Complaint Bureau. In response to the public
outcry for better service delivery, the objectives of this research are to investigate the effect of
demographic factors namely (i) gender, (ii) age, (iii) working experience, (iv) supervision
tenure and (v) service group in influencing the exhibition of citizenship behavior among local
government workforce in east coast region of Malaysia. 126 respondents from three local
governments working in east coast states of Malaysia have participated where data were
collected using stratified random sampling approach. Empirical results revealed that only
supervision tenure has significant influence in elevating employees’ Organizational
Citizenship Behavior, hence, supporting social exchange theory. Therefore, management
should undertake hands-on actions in warranting that these demographic variables be
strengthened in invoking employees’ citizenship behavior towards instilling public confidence
towards multifarious services provided by local government
Evaluation of antioxidant and chemopreventive potential of methanolic extracts of leaf of aeglemarmelos attributes towards ductal carcinoma studied in MCF7 cells
Objective: The objective of the present research work had been made to evaluate the antioxidant potential along with anti-cancer activity of methanolic extracts from the leaf of A. marmelos. Methods: Standard methods for antioxidant potential in terms of DPPH and nitric oxide scavenging assay, and anticancer activity in vitro method (Cytotoxicity/MTT assay and % of cell viability) by using MCF7 cell line. Results: Results of antioxidant efficacy revealed that the IC50 value for DPPH and nitric oxide scavenging assay was considered to be 62.032%, and 20.69% respectively. The IC50 value was found as 49.36µg. Toxicity was significantly increased with increased concentration and viability significantly decreased with the increased concentration of methanolic extract of leaf from A. marmelos for MCF7 cell when compared to cyclophosphamide. Conclusion: From the studies, it was postulated that methanolic extract of leaf from A. marmeloshas significant chemopreventive activity. These specific identities will be useful for the identification and authentication of raw drug
إنصاف القرآن الكريم للمرأة سياسيا وإداريا في ضوء النصوص القرآنية Political and administrative fairness of Qur’an towards women in light of Qur’anic texts
The Holy Qur'anic verses fairly and justly talk about Muslim woman and her sublime
position in the Muslim community; however, any observer of the witnessed reality
finds that the Holy Qur'an, its verses and rulings are in suspicion and that the number
of those who claim that the Holy Qur'an deprived women their rights and prevented
them from administration and politics is increasing. Here lies the research problem.
Therefore, this article aims to defend the Qur’anic verses, to refute these ill-purposed
claims, and to encourage the search for the authentic interpretation of the verses
which is implemented by the people of knowledge. This research adopted the
analytical methodology to track the Qur’anic verses which talk about women’s
administrative and political status, then to analyse them to demonstrate the Qur’an’s
concern about this matter. Many results have been concluded. Among them, the
Holy Qur’an gave women administrative and political freedom which they have not
enjoyed before Islam. Even the non-Muslim women have not enjoyed such freedom.
In addition, the research demonstrated the women’s administrative and political
impact and the Qur’an approved that
