The aim of this study was to ascertain factors that could improve international tourist's loyalty to Malaysia as a travel destination using structural equation modelling and bootstrapping procedure. Tourism industry continues to be ate of the major sectors that contribute to the economy of Malaysia. Recently. the industry experienced a decline in destination loyalty among international tourists based on several evidences such as the growth rate of the international tourist arrivals fluctuating in a declining pattern. Moreover, the industry experienced a reduction in the average length of stay and repeat-visit international tourists to Malaysia. As suggested by previous researchers, this study was conducted to ascertain the effects of destination image, perceived value and satisfaction on the loyalty of international tourists visiting Malaysia. The collection of data was conducted at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport using a simple random sampling method. The respondents were tourists from United Kingdom and Australia. A total of 337 respondents were subjected to data analysis. Results of the measurement model uncovered that destination image and perceived value were highly correlated and they were treated as one construct, labelled as overall destination image. A revised structural model was proposed that linked overall destination image. tourist satisfaction and destination loyalty. The analysis of the structural equation modelling supported the proposed hypothesis. Bootstrapping analysis also supported the mediation role of satisfaction. The findings make a novel discovery of the new structural equation model which contributed to the theoretical implication and suggested practical strategies to enhance loyalty

    No full text
Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Streptococcus pyogenes are the most common pathogens to humans and are able to form a biofilm following ineffective precautionary approach. Biofilm is defined as a surface-attached community of bacterium embedded in an extracellular matrix which leads to tremendous problems in the environment, among humans and animals. This study aims to investigate the ability of P. aeruginosa and S. pyogenes to form biofilms in 96-well plate before further study in antibiofilm will be done. Initially, the 96-well plate was added with 100 μl of overnight P. aeruginosa culture with optical density (OD) 0.1 and S. pyogenes culture with OD 0.05. The cultures were incubated for 7 days at 37 °C to justify the formation of biofilm. Subsequently, stained blue biofilm was detached from the plate by using 95% ethanol. Biofilms were finally measured using a micro plate reader at 570 nm and were classified based on the adherence strength formula. P. aeruginosa and S. pyogenes biofilms strongly adhered to the plates on days three, four, five and six. Interestingly on day three, biofilms showed the highest formation. However, moderate biofilm formation onto the plates by both P. aeruginosa and S. pyogenes were observed on day two, but non-adherence was observed on days one and seven. Day three is the optimum cultivation period for P. aeruginosa and S. pyogenes to switch into a strong biofilm in microtiter plate and could be beneficial for antibiofilm experiments

This study was conducted to evaluate the physicochemical and organoleptic properties of muffin incorporated with different type of composite flour. In this study, three composites flour were produce with ratio 50:50 which are rubber seed and cassava flour (RCF), rubber seed and pumpkin flour (RPF) and cassava and pumpkin flour (CPF) and 100% wheat flour was used as control, to study their effect towards structural properties of muffin. The physicochemical and organoleptic properties (moisture, volume, texture, water activity, colour, pore size and sensory acceptance) of control and supplemented muffins were assessed. From the analysis, RPF showed the firmest texture 2.04±0.33 while RCF have high springiness 51.14±2.51 among the composite flour formulation. The addition of rubber seed flour in the formulation helps to improve the cell number of muffin which is 70 and 83 for RCF and RPF respectively. The RCF and CPF show lower moisture content than control which are 25.76±1.14 and 26.25±1.80 respectively. In terms of consumer acceptance, the RCF have the highest overall acceptability among tested composite flour. The incorporation of rubber seed flour into the RCF formulation improves the physical and organoleptic properties of the muffin
