The impact of content familiarity on reading comprehension among male and female students
The current study investigated the impacts of content familiarity on the comprehension performance of male and female Saudi students. The study adopted the quantitative method and tested thirty-two male and female university students through two gender-neutral texts, one familiar and the other one unfamiliar. The outcomes revealed that content familiarity had meaningful influences on the students' comprehension performance. The study also showed a significant difference between male and female participants in terms of text familiarity with the familiar text. The case is quite similar to the unfamiliar text. The overall result shows that female students outperformed male counterparts in this comprehension test. Such results should be taken into consideration by the curriculum designer

play). Therefore, this paper will explain in details regarding to
the several items in these cultural performances which could be
the evidences about the belief in magic in Malay‟s world-view.
Under this scope, researcher used three techniques of data
collection; interview, participant observation and document
analysis for completing the study. The study have shown that
the Malay have their own perception about the element of
magic in their daily life generally and particularly in these
cultural art performances. The trust and the recognition about
the elements of magic in Malay mindset such as spirits of the
dead, ghost and deities have clearly exposed in Main Puteri

through these two cultural art performances, Main Puteri
(Princcess Play) and Wayang Kulit (Shadow Play)
The global, regional, and national burden of inflammatory bowel disease in 195 countries and territories, 1990–2017: a systematic analysis for the Global Burden of Disease Study 2017
Background The burden of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is rising globally, with substantial variation in levels and
trends of disease in different countries and regions. Understanding these geographical differences is crucial for
formulating effective strategies for preventing and treating IBD. We report the prevalence, mortality, and overall
burden of IBD in 195 countries and territories between 1990 and 2017, based on data from the Global Burden of
Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study (GBD) 2017
Trade openness, oil prices, financial instability on economic growth in Asian countries: Evidence of second-generation techniques
Asian economic growth experienced a great increase in their real growth domestic
product (RGDP). Consequently, very few countries reached a high level of income and
wealth, as well as the majority of them, were below the world average. The study aimed
to investigate the influence of financial instability, oil prices and trade openness on
economic growth in Jordan, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore.
The study employed Westerlund cointegration techniques and found that there is the
existence of cointegration linkages among the variables in the all six countries.
Moreover, the results of Wald test Granger causality test revealed a bidirectional
causality between financial instability and economic growth in Jordan, Philippines,
Indonesia and Singapore. However, the result showed one-way causality running from
economic growth to financial instability, economic growth to trade openness index in
Malaysia, from economic growth to trade openness index in Jordan, from economic
growth to oil prices in Philippines, from economic growth to financial instability in
Thailand, from oil prices to economic growth in Indonesia, from trade openness index
to economic growth in Singapore. In addition, the Panel Dumitrescu and Hurlin
heterogeneous causality showed unidirectional causality running from financial
instability to economic growth, and from trade openness index to economic growth.
Consequently, the government should provide sufficient institutions that can generate
relationships among macro stability and economic growth to decreases uncertainty
reinforces reliability and increases the general macroeconomic environment
Happiness instrument development
Happiness is related with subjective well being.
However, there is scarce of research pertaining to Islamic view of
happiness. Previous research from Western perspectives have
proven that positive element and attitude contribute positively to
happiness. Hence, this research tries to identify several aspects
that have relationship with happiness among Muslim specifically.
Happiness Instrument was developed based on al-Ghazali’s
concept of happiness. It was about 500 Muslims involved in this
study quantitatively in which using developed scale inventory as
the main instrument. The data collected from the sampled
population has been descriptively analysed based on mean and
SD attained from the responses. Moreover, the PLS-SEM has
been utilized in this chapter to test the theoretical model.
Coherently, multiple approaches have been incorporated to
examine the measurement and structural models such as the
convergent validity, discriminant validity, R-square, and Fsquare among others. As a result, there is significant result of the
construct such as religious knowledge, practices and individual
with happiness
Articles of the mejelle on istisna contract: Juristic evaluation and applications
The Majallat al-Aḥkām al-‘Adliyyah, known as the Mejelle, is the
code of Islamic civil transactions which was prepared under the
auspices of the Ottoman Caliphate. This code was established
based on the Ḥanafī School of Islamic law. The paper intends
to conduct a juristic evaluation of the articles of the Mejelle on
istiṣnā‘ contract along with an investigation of its contemporary
applications. Istiṣnā‘ is a contract to buy for a definite price
something that may be manufactured later, under agreed
specifications between contracting parties. The study finds that
although articles of the Mejelle on istiṣnā‘ are known to be based
on the Ḥanafī School, they generally are not contrary to the
views of the majority of the Schools of Islamic law. It concludes
that the contract of istiṣnā‘ is applicable as a modern tool to
finance infrastructure development, high technology industries,
and mega projects like highway construction, aircraft industries,
locomotive, shipbuilding, and so forth
Knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAP) towards medicinal plants among Malaysian consumers
This study aims to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice of consumers towards medicinal plants (MPs). Besides that, this
study also determined the association between consumers demographic profiles and MPs practice. A survey was performed
among 300 MP consumers (Kelantan=100, Terengganu=100 and Pahang=100) from East Coast Economic Region (ECER) using
self-administered questionnaire. The findings indicated that 52% of consumers are females, Muslims and Malay. Most of them
living in rural (67%) than urban (33%) areas. The results from Chi-Square statistic showed that education level (p=0.033) and
locality (p=0.008) have significant relationships with the level of knowledge. Marital status has significant relationships with the
level of practice (p=0.010) of medicinal plants. A significant difference between the knowledge (p=0.00) and attitude (p=0.00)
towards practice of medicinal plants was also found. There was a moderate relationship between consumers’ knowledge on MPs
and their practice using MPs (p=0.000), whereas there was a strong relationship between their attitude towards MPs and their
practice (p=0.000). This study recorded that consumers’ attitude has a stronger relationship towards their practice compared to
the knowledge

MSoDIM: Multiple Sources of Data Integration Model for Mud Crabs in SetiuWetland
Data integration is the process of combining data from different sources into a
single, unified view. Integration begins with the ingestion process, and includes
cleansing, Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) mapping, and transformation. Data
integration is one of the most prominent issues to be solved especially in
integrating unstructured or structured data with multiple types and formats.
This paper introduces a new model for integrating multiple types of
heterogeneous data applying to mud crabs case study in Setiu Wetland (SW).
MSoDIM model is a three-tier architecture of mud crabs data warehouse.
Simulation result shows that the processing time for integration of unstructured
biodiversity data of mud crabs in MySQL and MSSQL servers are lesser than 1.5
seconds for 12 rows of 7 MB data
