Physical activity among medical students of university sultan zainal abidin (UniSZA), Malaysia
Introduction: Physical activity is considered as one of the best way by which we can keep our body active and disease free. Medical
college students have to cope up with the stress and demands of the medical education. Therefore, this study was undertaken to assess the
physical activities during the last 7 days among the medical students in UniSZA.
Objectives: To describe the physical activities during the last 7 days among the medical students of UniSZA and compare them according
to gender and different study years.
Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out among all medical students (from Year 1 to Year 5) of UniSZA.
Results: Of the 310 successfully distributed, a total of 238 completed questionnaires were received, indicating a response rate of 76.8%.
From a total of 238 respondents, 69(29.0%) were males and 169(71.0%) were females. The ratio for gender male to female of medical
students of UniSZA is 3:7. From the data, Year 1 respondents were 44 students (18.5%) out of 60 students, Year 2 were 52 students
(21.8%) out of 64 students, Year 3 were 46 students (19.3%) out of 60 students, Year 4 were 40 students (16.8%) out of 62 students and 56
students (23.5%) out of 65 students for Year 5. For the past seven days, 109 students (45.8%) did vigorous activity. More than half of the
students (59.2%) did moderate activity and 97 students (40.8%) did not. Meanwhile, for walking at least 10 minutes per day, 224 walked
and 14 did not. As for sitting, 182 respondents chose Yes and 55 respondents chose No.

amongst them so that can inculcate the same in their patients
Hukm Ba'd al-Shurut al-Mustahadithat fi 'Aqd al-Ijarat al-Mu'asarah [Ruling on Some Newly-constituted Conditions of Contemporary Ijara (Leasing) Contract]
This research studies a number of newly-constituted conditions of ijara (leasing) contract, which
had not been jurisprudentially addressed and studied by the previous jurists, due to the recent
emergence of the newly-constituted conditions and beyond the period of the previous Jurists.
These conditions are referred to as newly-constituted conditions because the available
jurisprudence sources and texts are devoid of detailed discussion on them. And some of these
conditions could be found in the old contracts as well as in the new contracts of our era. Some
observed issues in the newly-constituted conditions require close scrutiny of their harmonious
extent and lack of violation of the existing shari‘ah texts. And in the view of the importance of
having a verdict on the rulings surrounding these conditions, preventing them from deviating
from the shari‘ah (legitimate) foundations, a number of contemporary application models have
been selected and represented in the newly-constituted conditions. These are maintenance
condition of the ijara and the lessor requirement that the lessee must maintain the leased property,
thereby violating the ijara contract, which has been clearly stated, discussed and analyzed in the
general shari‘ah provisions. The research employs analytical approach where the researcher
analyses the shari‘ah texts related to the conditions, and compares the scholastic views therein.
The research arrives at numerous results, the most prevalent of which are: if there is no forbidden
defect in the conditions, such as ambiguity and lack of clear stipulation, there is no objection to
the implementation of these conditions, for they are approved by the shari‘ah; if maintenance is
of the type that depends on the fulfilment of benefit (profit), it should be borne by the owner of the
leased property without reservation, and not the responsibility of the lessee. But if the
maintenance does not rely on the fulfilment of benefit (profit), it may be mutually conditioned on
either the lessor or the lessee if it is clearly stipulated and not ambiguous
The impact of financial stability between the linkages of awareness and environmental tax compliance
Environmental concern has been given serious attention after the government launched
the cleanliness campaign in 1982. The main purpose of the campaign is to awaken citizen about the
importance to preserve and conserve the environment due to fluctuation of environmental problem,
particularly environmental pollution. Until now, our government had introduced some campaign
through ‘green incentives’ to green practitioners. Newly, our government has allocated few million
Ringgits to those states that practices and built ‘green’ in Budget 2019. However, the pollution
statistics shows fluctuation in year 2015 and 2016 and seems the government programmes is not
fully effective. Accordingly, this study attempts to investigate the impact of financial stability
towards the linkage of environmental awareness and environmental tax compliance. This study
only consists 384 tourists in East Coast Malaysia. Data collected using questionnaires. The results
indicate a positive and significant difference between low and high financial stability. The results of
this study make a contribution to existing literature in the area of environmental awareness and tax
compliance. In addition, this research adds further evidence to the value of studying environmental
tax
The relationship between EFL Saudi university students' vocabulay knowledge and listening comprehension
The present study purports to examine the relationship between Saudi University
students’ text-based vocabulary knowledge and their listening comprehension in English. It
aims at revealing the basic component (Breadth or Depth) of vocabulary knowledge in listening
comprehension. Forty preparatory year Saudi University students at Prince Sattam bin
Abdulaziz University took three tests: Breadth of vocabulary knowledge test, Depth of
vocabulary knowledge test, and Listening comprehension test. Both vocabulary knowledge
revealed a strong relationship (Breadth = 0.73, Depth = 0.59) with listening comprehension.
The study found that breadth and depth of vocabulary knowledge can explain (0.54) of the
variance in listening comprehension. Moreover, the findings suggest breadth of vocabulary
knowledge might be the basic component in listening comprehension. In teaching English, the
need is to focus explicitly on learners’ breadth of vocabulary knowledge that enables them to
achieve successful listening comprehension outcomes
Parental experience and use of probiotics among children aged twelve months and above
Probiotics are the food products containing live microorganisms which when up-taken in sufficient quantities,
converse health benefits to consumers. This study was aimed to find parental awareness, level of utilization,
assessment of their experiences and sentiments about probiotics among their children. This descriptive study
was undertaken in King Edward Medical University Lahore during July 2017 to January 2018. A total of 127
questionnaires were successfully completed comprising 45 (35.5%) from health care staff, 52 (40.9%) from
parents visiting pediatric outpatients and 30 (23.6%) from school teachers. Maternal parent remained
predominant in this study as there were 109 (85.8%) female and 18(14.2%) male respondents. Only 20(15.7%)
were familiar with the term probiotics, 49 (38.6%) were somewhat familiar while 58 (45.6%) had no idea about
term. On pursuing about preferences regarding probiotics use majority 106/127 (83.5%) of parents like to
available in liquid as it is easy to consume for children. Use of probiotics among children is not very much
common however it is been prescribed for number of gastrointestinal problems. Only a limited class of people is
familiar with health benefits probiotics. Around 20% users do not know about the organism present in specific
probiotic is also of astonishing. Due to different social set up health care providers and family physicians must
discuss about the dietary supplements in terms of potential risks and benefits
Identification and Characterization of The Causal Agent of Infected Iceberg Lettuce (Lactuca Sativa L.) in Perak, Malaysia.
Lack of knowledge about the causal agent of infected crops lead farmers to use wrong treatment on their
crops, which is causing negative effects on environment and human’s health. This study was conducted to
identify and characterize the causal agent from the infected iceberg lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) in Perak,
Malaysia. The infected iceberg lettuces were sampling from Perak area and the causal agent was isolated by
direct plating technique on a nutrient medium. The isolated bacteria were identified by molecular method
and biochemical test. Molecular identification was carried out using 16S rRNA sequence and then, several
tests such as amylase, catalase, oxidase and others were done for identification of bacterial species based on
their biochemical activities. The obtained results showed that Serratia marcescenes and Stenotrophomonas sp. were
identified as the causal agents. The pathogenicity has been confirmed by the establishment of Koch’s
Postulate, which showed 100% disease infection on them. The environmental effects also have been tested
on the bacteria to study the ability of bacteria to grow in different environmental conditions based on
different in pH, salinity, and temperature. All the bacterial sample showed that they able to growth on the
pH between 4.0 to 9.0, at the temperature 10 °C to 45 °C and at the addition salinity to the medium between
2.5 %, 5.0% and 7.5 %
Effects of drying methods on the quality parameters of dried manis Terengganu melon (Cucumis melo)
The objective of this study was to identify the suitable drying methods for preservation of immature Manis
Terengganu melon by using different temperatures which are 40 °C, 50 °C and 60 °C. The osmotically pretreated samples were dried by using three types of convective dryer; cabinet dryer, oven dryer and rotary dryer.
The drying time and drying rates were determined through drying curve. Rotary dryer had the shortest drying
time and drying rates followed by cabinet dryer and oven dryer. The quality parameters on dried melon were
identified. The range of water activity achieved for dried melon was 0.46-0.52. The hardness and chewiness of
dried melon showed significantly difference between fresh and dried sample. The browning absorbance of
dried melon at 420 nm for each equipment at temperature 50 °C showed significant difference at p<0.05. Rotary
dryer at 50 °C was preferred as the suitable drying equipment to dry melon in terms of time consumption as
well as produced acceptable physicochemical quality of dried melon
The impact of earnings management as for the Nigerian listed firms financial reporting quality on information asymmetry
Earnings management is one of the critical issues related to
financial reporting quality, particularly after the Enron and
WorldCom scandals. Earnings management behaviors are related
to the low level of corporate social responsibilities (CSR) and
improvement in both areas would be expected to result to
Improvements in the quality of financial reporting (FR). Hence,
the aims and objective of this study is to examine the impact of
earnings management as financial reporting quality on
information asymmetry for the listed firms, Nigeria. The study is
a conceptual paper on the relationship between earnings
management of financial report and information asymmetry of
Nigerian listed firms. Based on constructing the underlying
theoretical framework of earnings management, the relationship
between earnings management and information asymmetry is
studied. The study revealed that both real earnings quality and
accruals earning quality models are relevant to understanding the
financial reports, that is, lower information asymmetry challenge.
Therefore, uninformed users of financial reports are encouraged
to rely on financial analysts in order to make efficient portfolio
decisions. Also, if there is any need for the management of listed
companies to use earnings manipulation, real earnings
manipulation is recommended for them rather than the accrualbased approach. Finally, the study suggests that other
researcher(s) can go beyond this to put retail and institutional on
one side, and foreign investors on the other side, then focus on
each group in separate studies
The challenges of fatwa institutions in Malaysia in facing the progress of science and technology
Dense technology development nowadays leads to various new issues especially in
the law determination. Most of the problems have never happened before; in fact they
have never been discussed in details in the books of fiqh previously. Moreover, the
qualification of a mufti is usually in their main field which is in sharia studies. In
encountering the problems, fatwa institution becomes the most affected body due to its
role to solve the problems from the aspect of religion. Therefore, fatwa institutions in
Malaysia need to take appropriate actions to get along with technology progress. This
article intends to see the challenges faced by fatwa institutions in Malaysia and
resolving measures executed to solve problems happening due to the technology
development. This article is divided into two objectives. First, the roles of fatwa
institutions in Malaysia. Second, the challenges and solutions performed by fatwa
institutions to problems regarding technology. This study used documentation method
to collect data. Those data then were analysed through content analysis method. The
study found that there are two main institutions functioning to solve fatwa problems in Malaysia which are Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) and state
fatwa institutions throughout Malaysia. These institutions are assisted by governmental
and non-governmental bodies in ensuring the resolution of rising religious problems in
Malaysia. The study also found that there are many problems faced Muslim community
in Malaysia due to technology development including modern medicine, information
technology and others. To handle these problems, fatwa institutions in Malaysia has
done a lot of efforts to solve them according to Islamic perspective including by
strengthening the methodology of contemporary fatwa research, organising fatwa
discussion in group and appointing the experts of related fields
