Islamization of Family and Society: Study of Bangladesh Jama‘at-e-Islami (BJI)
From its establishment in 1941 in the Indian Subcontinent, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), a
contemporary leading Islamic movement in Bangladesh, represents a comprehensive example
of a Muslim group in trying to address the prevailing socio-cultural and politico-economic
problems which Muslim nations face. The purpose of this study to examine Bangladesh Jamaate-Islami (BJI) and it’s policy, ideology, social activities and most importantly intellectual
activities and involvements in the policies of Islamization of family and society. In this regard,
Jamaat’s constitution, literatures and various lectures of the top leaders available were critically
analyzed. This study found that the concept of “Islamization of family and society” is used as
an important means for an Islamist movement to revert the ultra-secular polity as well as liberal
and extreme views not in favor of Islam. This study concludes that based on the true Islamic
teachings, the BJI has the potential in promoting a project of Islamization Movement in order
to develop and institutionalize a value-oriented family and society based on the worldview of
Islam
Preventive Detention of Children: A Case for Reform
Preventive detention refers to incarceration of an individual who has not yet been convicted, to prevent
him from causing harm or endangering the community in some unspecified way. It is liberty deprivation
of an individual based on the accusation of dangerousness. The issue of preventive detention on children
has been regarded as one of the most controversial areas of juvenile justice policy which attracts debate
from various legal scholars. In Malaysia, provisions of specific statutes that aim to prevent terrorism or
national security have been invoked to justify preventive detention of children. The practice and
application of these statutes on children have become a matter of great concer
Concept Based Lattice Mining (CLBM) Using Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) for Text Mining
Extracting relevant resources according to a query is imperative due to the factors of time and accuracy. This study proposes a model that enables query matching using output lattices from Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) tool, based on Graph Theory. The deployment of FCA concept lattices ensures that the matching is done based on extracted concepts: not just mere keywords matching hence producing more relevant results. The focus of this study is on the method of Concept Based Lattice Mining (CBLM) where similarities among output lattices will be compared using their normalized adjacency matrices, utilizing a distance measure technique. The corresponding trace values obtained determines the degree of similarities among the lattices. An algorithm for CBLM is proposed and preliminary experimentation demonstrated promising results where lattices that are more similar have smaller trace values while higher trace values indicates greater dissimilarities among the lattices
Modeling the impacts of constant price GDP and population on CO2 emissions using Cobb-Douglas model and ant colony optimization algorithm
The per capita Gross Domestic Product (GDP) measures a country's economic growth. Increasing GDP is a dream of
all countries, but generally, GDP increases often have a negative impact with increasing CO emissions. This paper
intends to model the impact of GDP growth based on constant prices and the population in increasing CO emissions
in Indonesia. Modeling is done by using Cobb-Douglas model production function, where parameter estimation is
done by using ant colony optimization algorithm. Furthermore, model estimators are used for forecasting CO
emission concentrations. The results of the analysis show that the impact of GDP based on constant prices and
population significantly follows the Cobb-Douglas model of production, with the coefficient of elasticity is
0.819405999 and 0.834930855, respectively. The value of determination was obtained at 97.4%, indicating that the
correlation between GDP at constant prices and population with increasing CO emissions in air is very strong.
Estimator model obtained has a level of accuracy for forecasting is 0.98478981 or 98.4798981%. Thus, the model
estimator obtained is able to describe the actual data pattern
Effect of various dietary pattern on blood pressure management: a review
HypertensiOn or elevated blood pressure is a major contributor to the burden of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality worldwide as 25% of the world's adult population suffers from hypertension. For people with cardiovascular disease, adherence to a healthy diet has benefits additive to drug theraphy and associated with a reduction in mortality of between 8 and 45%. Therefore, this review focuses the effect of various dietary patterns on blood pressure management. Methods: A general search of academic journals (English) on diet. dietary pattern, blood pressure. hypertension and risk published from 2010 to 2019 was conducted. A mill 20 studies were selected from two electronic databases which PubMed and science Direct. Results: Eleven, 11 of the study were from United States, one from Canada,China. Italy, Australia. Denmark. Spain, Germany. Brazil and Netherland. The effect of dietary pattern on 20 studies showed reduction in Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP) which range from 0.60 mm Hg to 20.79 mm Hg and the highest reduction in SBP was from combination of Dietary Approach to Stop hypertension (DASH)diet with low sodium intake. Next for the Diastolic Blood Pressure (DBP) nitrate-rich vegetable diet indicated highest reduction where it ranges from 0.60 mm Hg to 9.00 mm Hg. Conclusions: Fruits and vegetables intake should be practice to prevent the burden of cardiovascular disease and other non-communicable disease. This is great importance to public health and to reduce medical costs
Kempen “Buy Muslim First”: analisis menurut maqasid shariah
Retaining Quranic memorisation for huffaz at the Malaysian tertiary institutions: Key challenges and future IoT potentialities
The transformation of tahfiz al-Quran (Quranic preservation) education in Malaysia has produced innumerable
secondary school huffaz (those who have committed the Quran to memory) who would be entering tertiary
institutions to further their studies in various professional field. In the institutions, they would not have anyone to
guide them on the Quran besides having freedom to organise their daily activities. They would be busy with academic
matters, not having a conducive environment for retaining the memorisation and frequently face time management
problems. The question is how far the huffaz at the tertiary education level are capable of retaining the memorisation
of al-Quran. Therefore, this paper aims to identify challenges faced by the huffaz at the tertiary institutions and IoT
potentialities that could be adopted in efforts to retain the memorisation. This study is qualitative in nature and used
the content analysis approach, which employed the document analysis method, while the data were analysed
thematically. This study had identified five main issues that were presumed to be problems for the huffaz in retaining
their memorisation of al-Quran. Besides that, this study propose three main IoT ecosystem that would support the
huffaz at the tertiary education level when doing revision or murajaah of the Quran
Potential allelopathic effect of Passiflora foetida on Brassica chinensis and Zea mays
Interest in developing effective biological weed management system increased because of the awareness of problems associated with the intensive use of herbicides. Thus, allelopathy has been suggested to be one of the possible alternatives for achieving sustainable weed management. Passiflora foetida is a terrestrial perennial herbaceous vine weed and its common name in Malaysia is 'leletup'. Passiflora foetida is the serious weed for several crops and has medicinal value. Previous study had found that P. foetida exhibited high allelopathic activity among 15 weed species that had been tested using sandwich and dish pack method. However, there is limited information about the allelopathic activity of P. betide under soil condition. Thus, this study was carried out to investigate the regulatory role of dry leaf litter and leaf litter aqueous extract of P. foetida on two crop species, which were Brassica chinensis and Zea mays under soil condition. The dry leaf litters were mixed with soil in three concentrations (i.e; 2.5%, 5% and 10%) and leaf litter aqueous extract were prepared and dilutions into 2.5%, 5% and 10% along with control (have no leaf litter) in three replicates. The hypocotyl length, radicle length, chlorophyll content, leaf area, biomass of shoot and biomass of root were recorded after three weeks of experiment. Soil samples were taken from pot culture bioassay and were analyzed for pH, salinity, nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K). Results showed that the effect of leaf litter was more severe on these plant parameters of both tested species compared to leaf litter extract. There was complete 100% growth inhibition of 8. chinensis when applied with 10% of P. foetida leaf litter. The highest concentration of leaf litter reduced the highest hypocotyl and radicle length. and the lowest concentration reduced the smallest. The total chlorophyll content of both species reduced significantly when applied with leaf litter. However, the salinity increased as the concentration of both treatments increased. Besides, N, P and K were also higher in both treatments compared to control. These results suggested that P. foetida have allelopathic activity and further studies need to be carried out to identify the allelochemicals involved in these inhibitory activities
العلاقة بين المقاصد الشرعية والاجتهاد في ضوء القرآن والسنة The relationship between the purposes of sharia and juristic deduction in view of the Quran and Sunnah
Juristic deduction (Ijtihad) is considered one of the pillars of the Principles of Islamic
Jurisprudence (Uṣūl al-fiqh), as it is tightly correlated to The Purposes of Sharia (Maqasid alShariah) that it is indispensable for any who is dedicated to the art of the principles of
jurisprudence authorship .For the jusrist (mujtahid) to obtain such a status, the detailed
comprehension of the Purposes of Sharia is sine qua non so that the jusrist be able to apply them
to deduct the aimed jurisprudential ruling for the situation on the ground. However, there still some
views that tend to undermine the significance role of learning such a subtle knowledge or pushing
to eliminate it away as the matter of Juristic Deduction concern, an approach that could lead the
Umma to go astray. Therefore, this research statement will be about tackling this issue. Since the
essence, wonders and objectives of Sharia are the chief support for the mujtahid for the Juristic
Deduction accomplishment in absence of the Quran and Sunnah versions, the author considers
handling it as the significance of this research as the research targets to confirm the correlation
between the Juristic Deduction and the Purposes of Sharia. As postulated that it is Illicit for Ijtihad
to counteract the Text, it is logic that Itjtihad is not an obverse to The Purposes of Sharia because
these Purposes are considered to be the spirit and secret meanings of the honorable Sharia itself.
The author utilized the analytical approach to analyze the he Provisions of the Islamic Sharia
besides the scholars’ views that corroborate the profound relationship between The Purposes of
Sharia and the Juristic Deduction which consequently led to the following results: the Provisions
of the Islamic Sharia represent the essence of objectives of Sharia as a whole, the updating issues
with their accompanying circumstances urges further surveys that bind the juristic deduction to
The Purposes of Sharia and thus, the close link between The Purposes of Sharia and the Juristic
Deduction manifests
أعمال الجاهلية المتعلقة بالجنايات والعقوبات التي أقرّها الإسلام وهذّبها Acts of Al- Jahiliyyah related to the crimes and punishments approved and refined by Islam
It appears to those who follow the side of crimes and punishments in the people of Al-Jahiliyyah
find that they did not have an organized judicial system, they were controlling the tribal leader
who represents the government and power, and was governed by the custom without being
associated with a system or legislation or law, and that the arbitration was known in ignorance.
The researcher focused on this study that Islam came to beautify the arbitration and called it, and
made it a stage to be invoked by the judge or entrusted to opponents to resolve disputes, and put a
system to control it. One of the punishments that came out of the pre-Islamic Sharia is punishment:
establishing the borders against the perpetrators, from cutting off the hand of the thief, the
crucifixion of the road cutter, and the punishment of punishment and other borders. The scholars
of this study relied on the method of historical induction. One of the most important results of this
article is that Islam came to some of the works of ignorance in terms of what is praised by them,
and what was familiar and soon acceptable reasonable and the rest of them had the laws of the
prophets before them, they were called from that side and called to it
