Concept Based Lattice Mining (CBLM) using Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) for text mining

    No full text
Extracting relevant resources according to a query is imperative due to the factors of time and accuracy. This study proposes a model that enables query matching using output lattices from Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) tool, based on Graph Theory. The deployment of FCA concept lattices ensures that the matching is done based on extracted concepts; not just mere keywords matching hence producing more relevant results. The focus of this study is on the method of Concept Based Lattice Mining (CBLM) where similarities among output lattices will be compared using their normalized adjacency matrices, utilizing a distance measure technique. The corresponding trace values obtained determines the degree of similarities among the lattices. An algorithm for CBLM is proposed and preliminary experimentation demonstrated promising results where lattices that are more similar have smaller trace values while higher trace values indicates greater dissimilarities among the lattices

Introduction to technologised Quranic learning in Ulul Albab Quranic studio

    No full text
This article aims to introduce Ulul Albab Quranic Studio (UAQS) which was built upon cooperation between University Malaysia Terengganu and Education Welfare Council of Besut and analyse its usage from the aspect of technologised Quranic learning. Discussion on the learning process of al-Quran is always mentioned by many sides as it is an obligatory upon every Muslim. This is important because it involves compulsory recitation in the prayer and sunat muakkad outside the prayer as a highly encouraged form of worship in Islam. Usually, the learning process of alQuran is performed traditionally based on the talaqqi and musyafahah techniques through recitation before a trusted teacher. However, development of science and technology nowadays has improved the learning techniques by the establishment of the first UAQS in Malaysia. The questions are, how was UAQS established? What is meant by technologised quranic learning? How far is the extent of usage and advantages of quranic studio compared to previous methods? This article utilised content analysis method to several related texts and special interviews to answer the questions. The discussion in this article is arranged into three parts. First, the history of UAQS establishment. Second, the usage of UAQS from the beginning until today. Third, analysis of the UAQS preferences compared to traditional methods. As a result, this article found that there are four main advantages of technologised quranic learning in the studio which are efficient audio-visual utilisation, interactive learning, conducive atmosphere and scientific measurement of recitation achievement. It can be concluded that all these advantages are on the right track of learning al-Quran today and compatible with standard guidelines of Quranic recitation

The impact of reading strategies on EFL students: A research review

    No full text
The need to provide appropriate methods of teaching to meet the growing needs of students is increasing as more and more students begin to learn English. This is particularly important for students studying English, who may only be introduced to English in their classroom in a foreign country. Reading strategies have been developed to help learners to resolve language barriers, such as vocabulary and grammar. Teaching reading strategies are proposed as an efficient way of delivering a learning environment that focuses on learners to promote learner independence and develop their language skills. Thirteen research studies were synthesized by means of a Mixed Methods Research Synthesis that collects qualitative and quantitative data, then analyzes them using both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The findings suggest that the evidence does not demonstrate that reading strategies are an effective means for EFL students to improve their comprehension of reading, but it is still uncertain whether certain strategies are better than others. As the results do not provide a particular conclusion on the efficacy of reading strategies, it is concluded that it cannot be helpful to language skills growth by using available class time to teach readings strategies

Method-This study uses autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) model. Result- Findings revealed that none of the models was stationary at level but were all stationary at first difference. There is not a short run significant relationship betweenstock market, capital formation and economic growth in Indonesia. In the long run, capital formation has a significant positive association on economic growth and a negative non-significant relationship between stock market and economic growth in Indonesia.
