    Design of low power transceiver on Spartan-3 and Spartan-6 FPGA

    In this research work, a low power transceiver is designed using Spartan-3 and Spartan-6 Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). In this work, a Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (UART) device is used as a transceiver. The implementation of UART is possible with EDA tools called Xilinx 14.1 and the results of the power analysis are targeted on Spartan-3 and Spartan-6 FPGA. The variation of different power of chips that are fabricated on FPGA for e.g., Input/Output (I/O) power consumption, Leakage power dissipation, Signal power utilization, Logic power usage, and the use of Total power, is observed by changing the voltage supply. This research work shows how the change in voltage influence the power consumption of UART on Spartan-3 and Spartan-6 FPGA devices. It is observed that Spartan-6 is found to be more powerefficient as voltage supply increases

    Internet of Things (IoT) is currently one of the top technological concepts where users and objects are interconnected using wired and wireless technologies such as Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), ZigBee, NFC, RFID, GPRS, LTE and Bluetooth, anywhere and anyplace. Within the past ten years, the idea of IoT has drawn massive consideration from both the business and research communities. Application domains may have many substantial benefits by means of an IoT approach. The idea of this field of study is to portray a basic knowledge of smart environmental monitoring system based on IoT. It has been stated in various studies in the past that IoT is facing multiple issues such as authentication, identification, availability, security and privacy, and socio-technical trust system (STTS). Nowadays, existing smart environments are continuing to face major IoT setbacks and challenges with regards to security, privacy, and STTS. Creating a STTS comparison in IoT is one of the principal significant breakthroughs necessary for building stable structures which will serve to eliminate doubt and technical setbacks. This study will present an outline of security, privacy and STTS in IoT while using a simulation method for comparing the results and justifying the outcomes. It aims to highlight and define the effectiveness of trust-management and how it should be exploited in IoT. The results will be indicated based upon past and present study result comparisons

    Key audit matters practices in construction sector: Evidence of Malaysian market

    This paper examines the reporting of Key Audit Matters (KAMs) in independent auditor's report for construction sector in the Malaysian market. It also aims to identify whether the specific characteristics of construction company will influence the KAMs reporting for Malaysian companies. The sample covers all construction companies listed on Bursa Malaysia with available data one year upon the implementation of KAMs. This business sector has been the subject of the study due to the fact that construction sector, despite being a high-risk sector, is among important sectors that contribute to the development of the economy of a country. The objective of the study is achieved through content analysis. The maximum and minimum number of KAMs disclosed are six and one respectively for this sector. The main issue addressed as KAMs in construction sector is revenue. The revenue recognition in the construction sector is affected by the unexpected occurrences and this, in turn, will affect the estimated cost and profit. The findings discover that the practice on the KAMs disclosed has been critically assessed by the auditors, but there is exception on some of the practice. In the construction sector, the items listed as KAMs basically relates to areas that required a significant amount of judgement from auditors (matters that involve high uncertainty estimation). However, for some of the KAMs disclosure, 24% of the sample do not highlight the reason of why the items listed as KAMs. This circumstance would provide questions whether auditors had dismissed the guidelines of the disclosure of KAMs or auditors did not understand the KAMs' practices comprehensively. Therefore, further monitoring is needed to ensure the successful implementation of KAMs. This study only covers a limited sample of one year upon implementation of KAMs. It provides an empirical data and description on Key audit matters (KAMs) disclosure in the independent auditor's report of the Malaysian Listed company

    Sistem pengajian Tahfiz al-Quran mula mendapat tempat dalam kalangan ibu bapa dan pelajar sendiri. Berdasarkan perkembangan ini, pihak kerajaan, swasta mahupun persendirian telah mengorak langkah dengan memperkenalkan sistem tahfiz integrasi di samping pengajian tahfiz agama atau pondok yang telah sedia ada. Sistem pengajian yang dijalankan secara serentak ini memerlukan persediaan mental dan ketahanan fizikal daripada para pelajar. Ia juga memerlukan panduan yang berkesan dan perancangan yang sistematik bagi memastikan cita-cita melahirkan para cendekiawan huffaz yang thabit hafazannya tercapai bukan sekadar gelaran al-hafiz sematamata tetapi hakikatnya mereka tidak mengingati ayat-ayat yang telah dihafaz sebagaimana yang berlaku di kebanyakan institusi tahfiz integrasi sekarang. Kajian ini bertujuan mengenal pasti gaya hidup pelajar tahfiz al-Quran integrasi yang menjadi faktor kepada berjaya atau gagalnya mereka dalam menghafaz dan mengekalkan hafazan mereka. Ia juga bertujuan bagi merangka satu modul dan panduan kepada pelajar tahfiz integrasi supaya dapat lahir sebagai para huffaz yang mampu menjaga hafazan mereka dengan baik berdasarkan kesedaran dan sistem murajaah yang berkesan. Data akan dikumpulkan melalui borang soal selidik pelajar dan temuramah dengan pakar dalam bidang ini dan seterusnya kan di analisis dan dirumuskan sebagai modul tersendiri sebagai pandual pelajar. Jangkaan awal dapatan kajian mendapati kelemahan pelajar dalam memastikan mereka menghafaz dan menjaga hafazan dengan baik ialah kekangan masa dan jadual yang padat,kurangnya motivasi dan tiada sistem murajaah yang berkesan. Modul ini menerapkan satu model murajaah berkesan yang berkonsepkan empat kunci utama iaitu kesedaran, kesungguhan, istiqomah, kesabaran) Justeru modul yang dirangka akan menjadi panduan kepada pelajar bagi memastikan mereka lahir sebagai al-hafiz yang penuh bermotivasi dan konsisten dalam menjaga hafazan al-Quran

    Fragmentation in MAC IEEE 802.15.4 to Improve Delay Performance in Wireless Body Area Network

    A Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol plays a significant role in enhancing the performances of Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN). This technology is commonly implemented IEEE 802.15.4 standard that works under CSMA/CA protocol. In addition, WBAN deals with probability of high traffic occurrence due to collection bulk of medical data that are generated from several bio-sensors through a continuous monitoring of patient's health. This phenomenon could result to congestion in the network which may lead to increment in delay and packet loss that could collapse the network. The increment in these two performances could lead to wrongly diagnosed of the diseases as well as late in medical help. Hence, the proposed mechanism aimed to reduce the delay through fragmenting the packets by decrementing the slot time in MAC 802.15.4 protocol under different number of number nodes with constant packet size and bit rate. The performances of the proposed mechanism are measured in terms of delay and packet loss by using OMNeT++ simulator tool. Based on the collected results, the proposed mechanism has shown a promising result in reducing the delay which means that it has improved the network performance of WBAN

    Kajian ini menghuraikan kaedah-kaedah utama pendidikan anak-anak menurut Abdullah Nasih Ulwan dalam membentuk jati diri. Kajian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji apakah kaedah yang terbaik bagi membantu untuk membentuk jati diri anak memandangkan kes jenayah dan gejala sosial hari ini seringkali melibatkan anak-anak yang masih muda terutama dalam kalangan remaja muslim. Kajian ini akan menggunakan karya Abdullah Nasih Ulwan, mengenai pendidikan anakanak dalam islam, kaedah-kaedah pendidikan dan pengaplikasianya. Dalam menghasilkan kajian ini, pengkaji menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif iaitu kaedah perpustakaan untuk mencari maklumat dan bahan kajian. Kesimpulannya, kaedah-kaedah pendidikan anak dan pengaplikasiannya perlu diamalkan dan diaplikasi oleh semua pihak kerana ia sesuatu yang bukan sahaja bertitik tolak dari ajaran al-Quran malah diperkemaskan dengan keadaan realiti hari ini

    Penggunaan Simplified Sheets Bagi Memudahkan Penilaian Outcome Based Education (OBE) Untuk Fasilitator Sambilan Kokurikulum Unisza

    Pusat Pembangunan Pelajar Holistik (PPHP) adalah pusat yang mengurus mata pelajaran kokurikulum untuk semua pelajar Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) tanpa mengira lokasi kampus. Kebanyakan fasilitator yang dilantik untuk subjek kurikulum adalah kakitangan bukan akademik luar UniSZA atau kakitangan UniSZA bukan akademik. Oleh itu pada akhir semester, markah yang diperolehi oleh pelajar perlu dimasukkan oleh staf PPHP kerana fasilitator tidak diberikan akses kepada sistem peperiksaan yang dipanggil SISMAK. Ini membawa kepada beberapa masalah seperti kelewatan, pengiraan markah yang salah, pembezaan markah untuk pelajar yang sama untuk beberapa borang dan tertinggal markah pelajar. Untuk mengatasi halangan-halangan ini, satu template fail dalam MS EXCEL yang diberi nama Simplified Sheets telah dibangunkan bagi membantu fasilitator. Kesemua helaian yang diperlukan bagi tujuan mesyuarat pengesahan markah peringkat akhir disatukan dalam satu fail dan dihubungkan untuk memastikan markah yang akhir adalah markah yang diambil daripada rubrik penilaian secara automatik. Markah penilaian juga dikumpulkan bagi setiap Hasil Pembelajaran Kursus (HPK) bagi memudahkan penilaian berterusan dilaksanakan sebagaimana yang diperlukan dalam pendekatan Outcome Based Education (OBE). Fail kemudian diubah menjadi format .csv sebelum diimport ke SISMAK. Simplified Sheets juga disediakan juga bagi menghasilkan laporan Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) untuk membolehkan penambahbaikan pencapaian hasil dibuat pada semester seterusnya. Penilaian terhadap keberkesanan Simplified Sheets dicerap melalui beberapa parameter yang diperolehi daripada sebahagian besar fasilitator yang dibahagikan kepada kumpulan sasaran dan kumpulan kawalan dengan memberikan tugasan untuk setiap kumpulan untuk tujuan pengumpulan data. Hasil yang diperolehi daripada penilaian ini menunjukkan penjimatan masa dan penurunan kadar ralat semasa proses memuktamadkan markah akhir pelajar. Fasilitator juga diberikan beberapa soalan tinjauan bagi melihat kebolehgunaan dan kebolehpenerimaan penggunaan Simplified Sheets dalam memudahkan penilaian mereka. Hasil tinjauan mendapati bahawa majoriti fasilitator bersetuju dengan PERSIDANGAN KEBANGSAAN KOKURIKULUM UNIVERSITI 10-11 JULAI 2019 Serdang, Malaysia bahawa Simplified Sheets mudah digunakan serta mengurangkan kesilapan markah sebelum ini.
