The complexities of South African xenophobia on Nigerian nationals
The Nigerian-South African relationship is couched in the paradigm of intricate interdependence.
The elements that brought the two African major powers closer include political, cultural, and
economic dimensions. Therefore, any dissimilarity of interest between both countries would ruin
their relationship and implicate the whole African Union concept that unites Abuja/Pretoria
relations. Over 100 South African companies permeate the Nigerian market in several economic
sectors and most are successfully operating in Nigeria. Nigerian companies such as First Bank,
among others, are also operating in South Africa. As long as South Africa and Nigeria are both
dominant powers in their respective sub-regions, a threat like xenophobia needs to be eradicated
and coordinate some effective policies for Africa's development. The study employed a
qualitative method and library sources, past literature on different xenophobic trends noted in the
journal articles, books, and others, on the South African xenophobia and its implications on
Nigeria/South African relationship. The study adopted the frustration-aggression theory and it
found that incessant xenophobic attacks on Nigerian nationals and other foreigners in South
Africa are based on prejudices. The study went further with suggestion to provide some panacea
to the catastrophe of South African xenophobia
Sodium intake and its association with knowledge, attitudes and practices among health sciences students in Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (Unisza)
High salt intake is a major risk factor of hypertension and cardiovascular disease. Improving knowledge, attitudes
and practices (KAP) in salt intake among population is one of the key components of salt reduction strategies.
This study aimed to measure the mean intake of dietary sodium among health sciences students in Universiti
Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), assess the knowledge (K), attitudes (A) and practices (P) on sodium intake and
to determine the dietary sodium intake and its relationship with KAP. A total of 402 undergraduate students with
the mean age of 21.0 ±1.22 years old were recruited in this cross-sectional study consisting of 44 men (10.9%)
and 358 women (89.1%) using convenience sampling. Socio-demographic data were obtained using selfadministered questionnaires. Anthropometric data of height and weight were measured. Sodium intakes were
estimated using Food frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) while KAP was measured using well validated
questionnaires adapted from Institute for Public Health. The mean intake of sodium among respondents was
2617.8 ± 1862.98 mg/day, exceeded the recommendation. Major contributor to salt intake was from the food
groups of cooked grains followed by sauces and fast food. The knowledge of most respondents was good with
98% of them had knowledge on serious health problems contributed by high salt intake, especially blood pressure
(75.1%). More than half of the respondents felt that lowering salt intake was very important (61.7%). Respondents
also reported frequent controlling of sodium intake (65.9%) by minimizing processed food intake (83.4%).
However, no significant association was found between KAP on dietary sodium intake (p>0.05). Nevertheless,
undergraduate students with nutrition related courses were found to have better knowledge and practices (p<0.05)
compared to those with non-nutrition related courses. Acknowledging that this study limited to health sciences
students in UniSZA, future studies encompassing students from other universities are recommended in order to
represent the Malaysian university populations KAP on sodium intake
Realizing Maqasid Al-Shari’ah in Shari’ah governance: a case study of Islamic banking institutions Malaysia
This study explores how far the element of maqasid al-Shari’ah is realized through the practice
of Shari’ah governance in Malaysia. Among the main bodies in Islamic banking institutions,
Shari’ah governance plays a vital role in ensuring that all financial activities comply with
Shari’ah rulings and its objective. Based on library research, this study analyzes secondary
sources including books, articles and related documents to obtain a clear picture of the element
of maqasid al- shari’ah in Shari’ah governance. The findings reveal that two special maqasid
have been realized through the practice of Shari’ah governance in Malaysia: ensuring the
viability of Islamic banking institutions and promoting transparency. While this study is limited
due to the lack of empirical analysis, it could be considered as being among the preliminary
studies on the topic of maqasid al-Shari’ah in Shari’ah governance
Penilaian semula stesen rujukan takwim Hijri Malaysia [Review of Hijri Malaysia calendar reference station]
tarikh awal Bulannya sama.

DIGITAL CONTENT AND THE IMPACT OF VERBAL COMMONALITY ON DIFFERENT JURISPRUDENTIAL RULINGS - AN APPLIED STUDY
This study aimed to find out the impact of Islamic digital content on
the Internet. Knowledge is considered the basic issue and intellectual ideology of
societies that aspire to develop to become in the ranks of scientifically and
cognitively advanced societies as knowledge and modern technology are
complementary to each other and each of them is considered an entrance and a
measure of the development of societies in our present time. The research also aims
to clarify the meaning of the verbal joint, the comparison between its reality
according to both linguists and fundamentalists, explain its reasons, and its
relationship to some fundamentalist terms, and study some of the verbal joint
words, which have a juristic effect, and the research includes some applied models
for the verbal joint that have a juristic effect, And clarifying the way to participate
in it, and mentioning the jurisprudential issues resulting from this participation, and
I followed in this research the comparative analytical inductive approach, which is
based on tracking what is related to the verbal participant in the books of linguists
and fundamentalists as well as jurists, and analyzing and comparing it with others,
while tracing the jurisprudential implications that resulted from it. Among the most
important findings of the research: that the verbal commonality is a sign of the
development of the Arabic language, and it is permissible to ever occur in speech in
the Qur’an and the Sunnah, and others. Because usage is evidence of participation,
and whether the verbal participant is less or more, and because of its presence in
some of the legal texts, because of it the difference between the jurists has occurred.

STUDENTS’ LEARNING OUTCOMES OF BLENDED LEARNING IMPLEMENTATION IN WRITING LESSON
Writing requires specific skills in brainstorming, organizing, editing, and
proofreading. There are varieties of research conducted in finding which
approach is the most impactful to teach writing and one of the approaches
emphasized is blended learning, widely acceptable in education field.
Nevertheless, its effectiveness on writing is still questionable and the effort
to integrate blended learning in teaching writing needs a thorough
consideration. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to researcrh the
adequacy of blended learning approach on students’ writing performance.
Employing an explanatory research type, an experimental research design
was applied. A mixed-method method was executed to collect, analyse and
interpret data. For quantitative, a quasi-experimental design was carried
out to 60 respondents who were selected through purposive samplings and
distributed to control and experimental groups. The study used pretest and
posttest for both groups. The result shows that there is no significant
difference of blended learning and students’ writing performance between
the experimental group and control group in the pretest and posttest.
Overall, the study shows that both instructions have place in writing.
Hence, educators have to become eclectic practitioners who are able to
apply suitable approach that can contribute to the growth of teaching and
learning writing

The Empirical Relationship Between Economic Growth, ICT, Financial Globalization Uncertainty and Financial Development: Evidence from Selected Leading African Economies
The paper concentrated on six selected major African countries from 1990 to 2011 and describes the
effect of ICT-driven institutional efficiency and knowledge exchange systems on economic growth,
financial globalization, and economic growth on financial development. That is because the financial
markets of both of those nations are underdeveloped. The article applied Larsson's co-integration, the
dynamic common correlated effect, and PMG estimates. The findings indicate a positive long-term
association for all parameters, which involves the interaction term. Nevertheless, it is worthy of note
that financial globalization is inevitable, as its repercussions can only be ignored at the cost of growth
in the country. Perhaps it guarantees that ICT-driven knowledge exchange and institutional quality
frameworks contribute to the speeding up of the financial development of the six sampled leading
African countries. Increasing knowledge sharing powered by ICT across countries could solve one of
the major obstacles of African business activities: which is; lack of financial ease of access. Sampled
nations can also optimize ICT-driven knowledge-sharing to decrease asymmetric information. The
article provides a full set of recommendations for the sampled countries
