The presentation covers the rationale, the methodology, and the results of a mixed methods study designed to answer the following question: what impact, if any, does religiosity have on gender norms among students at Southern Adventist University? Data will be collected via a survey and individual in-depth interviews from the convenience sample of students at Southern Adventist University. Finally, it discusses implications for practice and policy change
The Relationship between Self-Efficacy and Physical Activity and Academic Performance Amongst College Students
No full textCollege students are faced with an immense amount of pressure coming from a variety of areas in their lives. The pressure experienced shows impact on college student’s academic performance, usually in a negative manner. There are multiple factors that play into the pressure experienced. There are also multiple methods to reduce the pressure experienced. One may wonder about the relationship between how strong of self-efficacy a person has, described as how effective one feels they are in performing tasks, and measured academic performance. This study focuses on the relationship between an individual’s level of self-efficacy, amount of physical activity accomplished weekly, with a measured academic performance. This relationship is important as an individual’s self-efficacy levels, and amount of physical exercise performed, could predict an individual’s academic performance. Therefore, it is important to study this to note whether self-efficacy and physical activity levels contribute positively or negatively towards academic performance. It is noted in research that there are methods, such as physical activity, to help reduce the stressors of the environment in order to maintain a positive self-efficacy

No full textMindfulness meditation is shown to have positive effects in alleviating symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress. This is caused by increasing a sense of interoception, an understanding of the physical state of your body, allowing the meditator to become more in the present. This study asks whether mindfulness meditation is effective only in guided sessions, or if it can be practiced in self-guided manner. Using a quasi-experimental study with two groups

Kenya is a country in East Africa consisting of beaches, the Rift Valley, and a diverse population. The language groups in Kenya are categorized as the broad Bantu, Nilo-Saharan, and Afro-Asiatic languages but include many languages from the many migrations of European and Middle-Eastern groups. Kenya is known for its 50 national parks and reserves, the author Ngugi wa Thiong’o, the Nobel prize winner Wangari Muta Maathai, and its rich history.

No full textIn present work, the Klein-Gordon-Fock equation is obtained from the first principles. Within this approach, there is no need to postulate the existence of wave functions as well as axiomatically introduce values of coefficients in the equation. The equation is derived on an adiabatically variable manifold, locally described by Friedman-Robertson-Walker metric and with complete electrodynamics constructed on it. In this case, transverse electromagnetic fie ld is quantized due to the adiabatic change in the metric tensor, and the Planck constant is an adiabatic invariant of the transverse electromagnetic field propagating over the adiabatically changed manifold. Following this approach, the wave functions appear in the equations in a natural way (they are eigen-functions of corresponding Sturm-Liouville problem) and these are the eigen-functions, the function of the transverse electromagnetic field is expanded in. For this reason, the axiomatic introduction of wave functions, as well as postulation of values o f the coefficients in the equation are no longer required. This makes obvious, both the physical meaning of the equation itself and quantum mechanics as well
CodeBase Relationship Visualizer: Visualizing Relationships Between Source Code Files
Get PDFUnderstanding relationships between files and their directory structure is a fundamental part of the software development process. However, it can be hard to grasp these relationships without a convenient way to visualize how files are connected and how they fit into the directory structure of the codebase. In this paper we describe CodeBase Relationship Visualizer (CBRV), a Visual Studio Code extension that interactively visualizes the relationships between files. CBRV displays the relationships between files as arrows superimposed over a diagram of the codebase\u27s directory structure. CBRV comes bundled with visualizations of the stack trace path, a dependency graph for Python codebases, and a hyperlink graph for HTML and Markdown. CBRV also exposes an API that can be used to create visualizations for multiple different relationships. CBRV is a convenient and easy-to-use tool that offers a big picture perspective on the relationships within a codebase
