Kinetic study of aliphatic alkenyl cations formed from 2-methyl-2-hexene in sulfuric acid*
This presentation is a kinetic study of the formation of aliphatic alkenyl cations from 2-methyl-2-hexene with concentrated sulfuric acid. The rate constant of the reaction is calculated at various temperatures to determine the activation energy of the reaction. This study aims to support the proposed mechanism of protonation of 2-methyl-2-hexene with sulfuric acid, which undergoes a hydride shift to produce an aliphatic alkenyl cation that may undergo resonance to produce a tertiary carbonation. Furthermore, thermodynamic values for the reaction are determined using the Beer-Lambert law and relationships between enthalpy, entropy, and equilibrium constant

The Nature of the Kingdom
“Then Jesus said, “What is the Kingdom of God like? How can I illustrate it? It is like a tiny mustard seed that a man planted in a garden; it grows and becomes a tree, and the birds make nests in its branches,” Luke 13:18-21, NLT
Evaluating Hyper-V vs. Proxmox: Performance Comparison for Virtualization
Virtual environments play a significant role in modern IT infrastructures. Given the increasing licensing costs of VMware post-acquisition by Broadcom, businesses are exploring alternative virtualization platforms. This study evaluates two leading hypervisors, Microsoft Hyper-V and Proxmox Virtual Environment, in terms of CPU performance, storage efficiency, and network throughput. To this end, we implemented a three-node high-availability cluster on Windows and Linux, and executed CrystalDiskMark, Sysbench, Geekbench, KDiskMark, and iPerf3 benchmarks on them. Our results indicate that Hyper-V provides better performance for Windows virtual machines, while Proxmox offers higher performance for Linux virtual machines. However, the differences in performance between the two tools are minimal. Additionally, Proxmox offers a more user-friendly cluster setup, whereas Hyper-V requires higher technical expertise

Living From God
“Take care lest you forget the Lord your God by not keeping his
commandments and his rules and his statutes, which I command you today,
lest, when you have eaten and are full and have built good houses and live in
them, and when your herds and flocks multiply and your silver and gold is
multiplied and all that you have is multiplied, then your heart will be lifted
up, and you forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of
Egypt, out of the house of slavery,” Deuteronomy 8:11-14, ESV
Lori Futcher Living Memoirs Interview
Lori Futcher, a Southern alumna, spent a year as a student missionary in Majuro, Marshall Islands, where she served as a first-grade teacher. She shared her formative experiences that led to her decision to become a student missionary, as well as the lessons she learned during her time there. She described the unique culture of Majuro and how her experience shaped her relationship with God and other people.
Majuro is the capital and largest urban area of the Marshall Islands, situated in the central Pacific Ocean. It is part of a larger group of islands, with the atoll comprising numerous small islands. Majuro is characterized by a tropical climate and is known for its vibrant community and rich cultural heritage, which includes traditional navigation skills passed down through generations.
