My project involved the design and creation of an automated ball-launching turret system that integrated mechanical construction, embedded electronics, and programmable control. I don\u27t have a name for it, I\u27ve just been calling it WALL-E but It is based on a 3D-printed launcher assembly driven by dual 130 DC motors, a servo-controlled ball-feeding mechanism, and a two-axis pan-and-tilt servo platform. An Arduino Nano Every acts as the central controller, and it manages two different modes of operation. A manual mode and an auto-sentry mode. In manual mode, the user has a two-axis joystick to control turret rotation, elevation, and firing. In auto-sentry mode, the turret has an ultrasonic distance sensor to scan its environment for objects within a predefined range and automatically fire a projectile. Power is provided through an LM2596 buck converter that regulates a 9-volt source into a stable 5-volt rail for the microcontroller and servos, adhering to the specifications of the original launcher guide. The L298N motor driver provides controlled speed and direction to the DC motors powering the flywheel launcher. I chose this project because robotics is what got me interested in Computer Science back in high school. I had never done one on this scale before, but I was intrigued to try. It was a lot of trial and error, along with dealing with delays and tight deadlines, plus failure after failure. This project shows how embedded systems combine with control logic and electrical systems in one functional device capable of user-directed and autonomous operation. The project can be used to teach students engineering concepts that we need to focus on, such as power regulation, actuator control, safety, and design, making it a strong example of a multidiscipline robotics project

Henry Clay Robinette, attended the Delaware Military Academy (1857-1860) and joined the Union Army at the outset of the Civil War. H.C. Robinette fought at the battles of Corinth and Vicksburg (1862) and was later on the General Grant\u27s staff (1864-1865). After the war he was court-martialed for cursing an officer in a barroom brawl (1867)but his father petitioned President Andrew Johnson on his behalf with the result that his sentence was commuted and he was promoted to brevet major for gallant and meritorious services at the Battle of Corinth and the siege of Vicksburg.https://scholarlycommons.pacific.edu/civil-war/1028/thumbnail.jp
Evaluating the Analgesic Activity of the Ethanolic Leaf Extract of Ipomoea aquatica (convolvulaceae)
Ipomoea aquatica, commonly known as water spinach, is a leafy vegetable widely consumed in tropical and subtropical regions for its nutritional benefits. This study investigated the potential analgesic activity of the ethanolic leaf extract of I. aquatica, as no prior scientific evidence supports its role in acute pain management. Male Swiss albino mice were used in an acetic acid-induced writhing test, with aspirin as the positive control and plain normal saline solution (PNSS) as the negative control. The extract was administered at low, medium, and high doses. In the writhing test, I. aquatica significantly inhibited the writhing response of mice induced by acetic acid, with inhibition rates of 49.7%, 50.8%, and 45.2% for the low, medium, and high doses, respectively—comparable to the positive control (50.8%). A highly significant one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) result (F = 17.75, p = 0.000001) confirmed differences among treatments, and post hoc analysis revealed that all extract doses differed significantly from the negative control (p \u3c 0.001). However, no significant differences were observed between the extract doses and Aspirin or among the different extract concentrations, supporting the analgesic potential of I. aquatica at all tested doses
