Nordsyn ecodesign – task 1 report : Improvements of the EN16510 test standard
As part of the ongoing revision of the ecodesign requirements for solid fuel space heaters (2015/1185), a review of the existing test standard is required. To establish a common technical foundation for revising these ecodesign requirements, this report—Task 1—addresses the necessary adjustments and improvements to the test standard EN 16510
Young Voices for Climate Justice : Recommendations to COP30 from the Youth Climate Workshop at Roskilde Festival
Brought together by the Nordic Council of Ministers and Roskilde Festival, young changemakers from across the world gathered to turn art, grassroots movements, and politics into concrete climate action. Through conversations with people globally engaged in the climate agenda, clear demands emerged. The recommendations are presented by Sigurd Krabbe, Denmark’s Youth Delegate to the UN for Climate and Environment, and Marcele Oliveira, Presidency Youth Climate Champion, Brazil. Key recommendations to COP30: • Integrate adaptation indicators on children and youth • Phase out fossil fuels in the COP30 agreement • Decide clear pathways to deliver the NCQGYouth are ready to lead, now it is time to act
Joint Nordic Control of Dropshopping and other E-commerce : Nordic enforcement project 2024
The Nordic enforcement project was a joint enforcement project for the market surveillance authorities within the Nordic Enforcement Group. The aim was to check the compliance level of chemical legislation in e-commerce in the Nordic countries as well as collecting best practices to enhance our work regarding enforcement of e-commerce of consumer goods. The project focused on three types of business models: online platforms, traders (web shops) and dropshipping traders. The overall results showed a high non-compliance rate; 147 (71 %) of the 210 controlled products inspected were found to be non-compliant. The results indicate that there is a lack of knowledge or an unwillingness to comply with the provisions in the chemicals legislation. This indicates that online trade needs to improve the proactive work with chemical safety
Nordic Marine Ecosystems in a Changing Climate
We here present a literature-based overview of responses to climate change from a wide range of marine species in Nordic waters, from the Baltic, North, Norwegian and Icelandic seas, to the seas around Greenland and the Barents Sea. We also give a synopsis of input from a small, targeted group of Nordic managers and decision makers who describe which climate change related pressures they consider to be the largest treats to our marine ecosystems. While the pressures often are similar, responses may differ substantially between ecosystems. The Baltic Sea faces a combined threat from rising temperatures and decreasing oxygen levels. Reduced North Sea primary production may propagate through ecosystems causing trouble for fish, birds and mammals. In more northerly areas, the melting of sea ice will totally change the environment, detrimental to some species, perhaps favourable to others

How can offshore wind energy and fisheries sustainably coexist in the Nordic Seas?
The rapid expansion of offshore wind energy in Nordic marine areas underscores the need to support coexistence with traditional sectors, particularly fisheries. Sustainable coexistence involves more than just sharing space: it requires inclusive governance built on continuous dialogue, adaptive planning and recognition of diverse social, economic, ecological and cultural interests and values. Offshore wind development, however, unfolds within a fragmented governance context, shaped by shifting political priorities, emerging planning traditions and complex permitting frameworks. These conditions make cross-sector collaboration both challenging and essential. This policy brief presents four building blocks for sustainable coexistence: (1) Establishing structured dialogue and guidelines, (2) Fostering a participatory planning culture, (3) Strengthening knowledge foundations, (4)Creating supportive institutional pathways. Drawing on Nordic experiences, the brief encourages countries in the region to exchange lessons, adapt promising practices and advance cross-border dialogue.
