    No full text

Nordic Hydrogen Valleys : value chain mappingacross the region

    No full text
In this first comprehensive mapping of Nordic hydrogen value chains, an overview of the status and the nature of clean hydrogen projects across the Nordic region is established, based on definitions of “Nordic hydrogen valley” and “Nordic hydrogen hotspot”, specifically developed for the mapping carried out in this report. The mapping results are visualized in an interactive digital tool (available at nordich2valleys.org), at the same time ensuring a joint Nordic digital platform as the basis for future updates of the Nordic hydrogen value chain landscape. In addition to the mapping, the report analyses the potential of clean hydrogen-based fuels in Arctic maritime transport. Finally, the report carries out an analysis of drivers, barriers and policy measures regarding the development of hydrogen valleys in the Nordics and on that basis policy recommendations are highlighted

    No full text
The report, Product-Service Systems (PSS) in the Nordics, investigates how PSS models can support sustainable consumption and resource efficiency in the Nordic countries. From 2021 to 2024, the project evaluated 16 pilot projects and engaged with more than 100 stakeholders to uncover the conditions for PSS success. It highlights the economic and environmental benefits of these systems while identifying the challenges that hinder their adoption. Through targeted recommendations for businesses, policymakers, and financial institutions, the report aims to facilitate regional cooperation, promote circular business models, and drive sustainable economic growth across the Nordic region

Sustainable levels of human activities in the Nordic marine environment

    No full text
Coastal and marine ecosystems are under pressure from various human activities, which exert direct and indirect impacts on underwater biota. Relevant management policies urgently need detailed information on ecological impacts of the activities. The COMA project analyzed the impacts of human activities and pressures on marine ecosystem were from three different viewpoints: (1) What evidence there is of ecosystem responses to single and multiple pressures?, (2) How different human activities impact the marine ecosystem?, and (3) What evidence there is of the sustainable levels of human activities? By applying a review, a meta analysis and three case studies, COMA addressed the questions, provided advice and suggested an approach for management

Paris Alignment of Export Credit Agencies: Denmark

    No full text
Perspectives Climate Research utilized its methodology to assess EIFO, the official Export Credit Agency (ECA) of Denmark, for its alignment with the Paris Climate Agreement. Overall, EIFO was rated with ‘Transformational’ (score 2.54/3.00). EIFO is the first institution to receive the highest possible ranking among eleven ECAs that Perspectives Climate Research assessed so far.   The score reflects EIFO’s successful phase-out of fossil energy financing and its world-leading renewable energy support. EIFO is also raising climate ambitions of other ECAs through initiatives like E3F and NZECA. Areas for improvement include reporting project-level GHG emissions, providing comprehensive sustainability reports, defining climate finance, and setting sectoral emissions reduction targets across its portfolio

    No full text

From media welfare to data welfare : Broadening the scope of media welfare

    No full text
This chapter engages with the notion of the data welfare state, extending the discussion of digital media welfare. Our main aim is to address the shifts in welfare provision under the paradigm of datafication. This primarily conceptual contribution puts forward the normative ideal of the data welfare state as a point of departure from the media welfare state. In the chapter, we highlight the current limits of data welfare and outline the prospects of the data welfare state by drawing on two empirical case studies of data-based technologies implemented by 1) a Swedish municipality to automate social benefit applications, and 2) a smart-sensor project of a public housing company to improve public safety. The case studies serve as an illustration of the conceptual arguments being made while shifting the focus from traditional media institutions to broader welfare infrastructures that are increasingly being datafied. To develop a better understanding of data welfare, we suggest revisiting the concept of mediation in the context of the data welfare state, in which the process of datafication is becoming a major way of mediating the social good
