Impact of the existing hydrotechnical development and urban infrastructure on the morphology of the Brda channel at the reach of Bydgoszcz

    Get PDF
W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań morfologii koryta Brdy na odcinku miejskim w Bydgoszczy. W ostatnich latach, w sezonie letnim dochodziło do podtopień bulwarów, pomimo braku wezbrania w dorzeczu. Powoduje to dalsze spłycanie koryta w niektórych odcinkach, a w konsekwencji wkraczanie i intensywny wzrost roślinności wodnej. Niewielkie głębokości koryta, a także roślinność wodna i zatrzymywane przez nią rumowisko, powodują lokalne spiętrzenia zwierciadła wody i podtopienia terenów sąsiadujących z korytem Brdy

About the "Babble" of a Fabricated World View, Namely, Joseph M. Bochenski’s Polemic with the Philosophy of Dialogue

    No full text
Joseph M. Bochenski in his philosophical works levels criticism against the philosophy of dialogue. It is a criticism from the position of analytic philosophy, which places a great emphasis on the scientific nature of a discussion. The following terms serve as indicators of the scientific character, i.e., (1) analysis, (2) language, (3) logy, (4) object. This means a rejection of the efforts to build an all-encompassing philosophical system in favor of addressing partial problems, linguistic precision and accuracy, using only rational methods and philosophical objectivity. Meanwhile, representatives of the philosophy of dialogue, to whom Tadeusz Gadacz and Joseph Tischner belong, maintain that for philosophy it is more important to seek the answers to questions that a person considers important rather than meet the rigors of science. Among these questions are the ones about the meaning of life, the causes of evil in the world, a way to implement values. Dialogists’ main object of interest is man and interpersonal relations. They consider the metaphorical language, which refers to myths and symbols, to be more suitable to express this reality than the literal one. Bocheński calls the language used by the philosophers of dialogue “babble” and their way of practicing philosophy a “fabrication of a world view.

Polska Gazeta Introligatorska. The History of the Magazine and Analysis of its Contents

    No full text
Polska Gazeta Introligatorska, published in 1928-1933, was up to the present day the only trade magazine intended for book-binders. It was a private entreprise owned by Ignacy Kozlowski, a book-binder from Poznan, associated with a well-known printer and bibliophile Jan Kuglin. The magazine published many articles containing valuable professional advice which was extremely precious as no professional coursebook existed at that time. At the first moment ”Polska Gazeta Introligatorska” gained a great interest of the book-binding milieu in the whole country, however it was not able to maintain the sales on a satisfying level, which, alongside with the financial problems due to recession, contributed to the magazine’s ruin

Polska tożsamość narodowa czy etniczna? : rozważania na temat podstawy programowej dla uczniów polskich uczących się za granicą

    Get PDF
Projekt Operacyjny Polska Cyfrowa POPC.02.03.01-00-0039/1

Creative Act as a Meta-Historical One. Nicolas Berdyaev’s Concept

    No full text
The article constitutes an attempt to analyse the interrelation between two central categories of Berdyaev’s philosophy – creative act and meta-history. The title concept of creative act as meta-historical is suggested to be the answer to Berdyaev’s questions on the meaning of history. According to Berdyaev himself, these questions are tantamount to the questions on the meaning of human existence embedded in history. The first part of the article reconstructs Berdyaev’s reasoning that claims that the creative act is – from the existential perspective – an optimal way of making history meaningful. Crucial to this reasoning are such concepts as the end of history, existential time, eternity, and freedom. The second part of the article focuses on meta-historical features of the creative act. At the end of the article two issues are raised. The first one refers to the role of Christian symbols in Berdyaev’s concept of creative act as meta-historical one. The other issue concerns the possibility of confronting this concept with modern hermeneutics represented by Gadamer and Ricoeur
