Work-Life Balance a factor supporting vocational development
No full textStarting point for the reflections devoted to the problems of work-life balance is vocational development, which is one of the categories of a general human development. Balance between the pointed spheres is when work does not influence life after work and when life after work does not influence the sphere of professional life; it can be fulfilled in different ways. An important role in counteracting their disharmony is played by legal and organizational solutions used in work places which allow optimal use of human resources. Problems connected with work-life balance are still not fully discovered in Poland especially if implementations of Work-Life Balance programmes are concerned.Punktem wyjścia dla refleksji poświęconej problematyce równowagi praca-życie pozazawodowe uczyniono rozwój zawodowy, który jest jedną z kategorii ogólnego rozwoju człowieka. Równowaga między wskazanymi sferami zachodząca wówczas, gdy praca nie zawłaszcza życia pozazawodowego i gdy życie pozazawodowe nie zawłaszcza obszaru pracy, może być realizowana na różne sposoby. W przeciwdziałaniu ich dysharmonii znaczącą rolę odgrywają rozwiązania prawne i organizacyjne stosowane w zakładach pracy umożliwiające optymalne wykorzystanie posiadanych zasobów ludzkich. Problemy związane z równowagą praca-życie pozazawodowe są jednak jeszcze w Polsce słabo rozpoznane, zwłaszcza jeśli chodzi o wdrażanie programów Work-Life Balance

Comments on the perception of civilization changes and their consequences
No full textThis article presents methodological reflections on the meaning of the term
civilisational change, which is linked to social development. I see civilisation as
a stage reached by a particular society due to the development of its material culture.
This development is also reflected in the transformations taking place in the
sphere of spiritual culture. The word development is generally associated with
changes leading to better, not worse state of the social system. However, it is advisable
not to use this word in research in an evaluative sense, but in a descriptive
sense. This is due to the fact that social development is a directional process, the
effects of which can be considered positive for some reasons, and negatively for
others. Taking this into consideration its character can be either progressive or regressive.Przedmiotem artykułu są metodologiczne refleksje dotyczące znaczenia terminu
zmiana cywilizacyjna, która jest łączona z rozwojem społecznym. Cywilizację
postrzegam jako pewien etap osiągnięty przez konkretne społeczeństwo ze względu
na rozwój jego kultury materialnej. Wspomniany rozwój znajduje swoje odzwierciedlenie
również w przeobrażeniach zachodzących w sferze kultury duchowej.
Słowo rozwój jest na ogół łączone ze zmianami prowadzącymi do lepszego, a nie
gorszego stanu danego systemu społecznego. Jednak w badaniach naukowych bardziej
wskazane jest nieużywanie tego słowa w sensie wartościującym, lecz w znaczeniu
opisowym. Bowiem rozwój społeczny jest procesem kierunkowym, którego
skutki można z pewnych względów oceniać pozytywnie – a z innych – negatywnie.
Biorąc to pod uwagę, jego charakter może być zarówno progresywny, jak i regresywny
Taxonomic features of fruits and seeds of Nymphaea and Nuphar taxa of the Southern Baltic region
Get PDFResearch was carried out on fruits and seeds of Nymphaea and Nuphar taxa collected from Poland, Latvia and Estonia. The aim of the research was to establish diagnostic features which could enable identification of the examined taxa on the basis of the fruit and seed structure and creating a key to identify them. The examined organs were observed through an optic microscope and scanning electron microscope (SEM). New diagnostic features were discovered: spotting of fresh pericarp, the range of the fruit shape coefficient, the colour of the rays in the fruit stigma disc, the thickness of the seed testa, ribs in the seeds, and occurrence of the “puzzle shaped” cells on the surface of the testa. One can use 3D scanning systems and multi-axis computer numerical control (CNC) machines as coordinate measuring machines (CMM). The obtained cloud of measuring points allows to enter more variables into the geometrical product specification (GPS) and hence it allows to get a new method for assessing the tolerances. These situtation refers to axisymmetric elements that have an impact on operation of number of mechanisms. The application of coordinate measuring machines allowed for a new approach to the quality of belt pulley mounitng. Conditions of the contact surface area and allowable manufacturing errors, the actual position of the rotation axis of shaft hole and many other parameters can be defined during the manufacturing stage
