Refleksje zakończymy przytoczeniem słów pocieszenia Jana Pawła II skierowane do ludzi starszych podczas spotkania w Monachium

Wi-Fi Network - Security and Methods of Attacks

    Get PDF
Hakerzy odkrywają kolejne metody ataków i wskazują wady istniejących rozwiązań.

Intergenerational solidarity: anachronism or a chance for modern dimension of sustainable social responsibility?

    No full text
This work is an attempt to answer the question whether in times of crises, digitalisation and the mediatization of social bonds the idea of intergenerational solidarity is still valid. The authoress provocatively questions the thoughts on social responsibility for the fate of the next generation. At the same time she wonders what the modern face of family interpersonal relationships in society is; sees a change, opportunities and threats. Reveals the best practices, based on which young people can promote intergenerational solidarity at local and regional levels and presents her point of view in terms of promoting effective solutions to exploit the potential of older people.

The Creative Well: Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz’s Work and Creative Personality

    No full text
In this essay, the author, first of all, puts the question of the character of the creative well, resp. creative wells, and tries to put it down this category as an especially important one for the philosophical and esthetical thinking. Moreover, several questions are being asked connected with the problem of the creative well as relating to the creative personality and the cultural lot of Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz’s work (mainly the philosophical and esthetical one). In connection with these questions, a drawing by Bronisław Wojciech Linde is being called up, which shows a double portrait of St. I. Witkiewicz. The question of the first-plan-Witkiewicz’s glance is posed. “Is it not a prophetic glance, directed towards the future destiny of culture, civilization and the world, and, at the same time, a glance of someone who sees his destiny as that of a creator?” The author underscores the essential difference between the well of creation and the creative well. He refers to the analogy perceptible between the idea of the well of creation and the creative well on the one hand, and the subject creating a work of art and the creative personality (as a category viewed in respect to the whole artistic achievement of an artist) on the other. Hence, the creative well is conceived as a raying meta-category and meta-well contrasted with various forms, contents and objectives that make up the realm of the creative experience of an artist and the wells of his creation. Moreover, an existential and cultural concept of the dimension of the creative well is being developed in reference to Georg Simmel’s work, who demonstrates the „mysterious unity” of the creative well. Subsequently, the concept of the creative well is confronted with St. I. Witkiewicz’s creative personality and work. The insights of Jan Leszczyński and Roman Ingarden are brought to bear upon the question of the creative personality. The problem of the cultural sense of St. I. Witkiewicz’s work is addressed, too, in connection to the formulae of Bohdan Michalski and Krzysztof Pomian. The next important step in the consideration is a reflection on St. I. Witkiewicz’s idea of the “metaphysical feelings” and the Mystery of Existence. The subjective and the objective dimensions are being shown. By dint of this reasoning, the fact of the creative well being possibly conceived not only in existent, existential, symbolic or reflective dimension, but also in that of the cultural destiny and interactions, appears neatly perceptible. For, the creative well shows up to be not only illuminating the cultural destiny of a work, but also piercing it and visible therein. At the end, the author returns to the “prophetic” glance of St. I. Witkiewicz in the drawing by Bronisław Linke. This glance is set down as emerging from the depths of the drawing, the depths being understood as a existent-existential dimension of the creative well: the glace of the closer-to-us-Witkiewicz directs itself towards cultural dimensions of the work, discovering thereby some new traits of Witkiewicz’s creative personality. In conclusion, the creative well is compared to the symbol of Diogenes’, the philosopher’s lamp searching for manhood in a man, the lamp that enables us to pierce and illuminate the hidden in – paradoxically – the daylight, the traits of manhood

Introduction. A patient’s education, which should help patients acquire and maintain the skills that will enable them to manage their lives when they become ill, is an important element of modem healthcare. Many patients do not comply with the recommendations necessary in the course of therapy if they do not take into account their needs, expectations, and previous experience. In contemporary approach, the patient is mainly responsible for the treatment of chronic diseases as they are the person having a sense of influence on the course of their disease. Such active participation of the patient in their therapy translates into its more positive results. The problem of coping with stress is one of the major issues that health psychologists are investigating. The quality of coping efforts made by an individual and their results in the long term gives accumulated effects on their functioning, also with regard to their health. Coping can be analysed from many perspectives. One of them is the coping flexibility, which indicates an individual’s ability to effectively modify the coping strategies they apply, depending on the requirements of the stressful situation. The goal of the presented study was to verify whether coping flexibility strengthens adaptive functioning in the course of a disease of chronically ill people expressed in their expectations towards therapeutic education and observance of the doctor’s recommendations concerning taking medicines. A positive relation had been assumed between the analysed variables and it was expected that people with coping flexibility would have higher expectations towards education and would abide by the doctor’s recommendations more diligently. Research methods. Three research methods were applied to verify the formulated hypotheses: The Scale of Expectations towards Therapeutic Education OE-15 of Anna Andruszkiewicz and Małgorzata A. Basińska, the Coping Flexibility Scale of Tsukasa Kato and particulars. The study was conducted on a group of 85 chronically ill people, of which 62 (73%) were female and 23 (27%) were male. Average age for the entire group was 44.60 years (5Z>=18.66). The respondents suffered from various chronic conditions, mostly hypertension and other circulatory diseases as well as various auto-immunological diseases, including diabetes and endocrine diseases. Results. No statistically significant differences with regard to adaptive coping were found in relation to the observance of doctors’ recommendations concerning taking medicines. No statistically significant relation between adaptive coping and expectations towards education was found. At the next stage of analysis respondents were divided into three subgroups with regard to their level of adaptive coping, in accordance with the static criterion (mean +/-1/2 SD). The conducted variance analysis of Kruskal-Willis confirmed earlier results and suggested that the level of adaptive coping does not differentiate expectations towards therapeutic education in the sample group of the chronically ill. Conclusion. The obtained results should be performed once again on a larger and homogenous group with regard to the type of disease.Projekt Operacyjny Polska Cyfrowa POPC.02.03.01-00-0039/1
