We are predicting that individuals with a higher level of internet adherence will have a stronger belief in conspiracy theories, while individuals with a lower level of internet adherence will have less of a belief in conspiracy theories. To test this prediction, participants took two surveys which test these two variables. To measure an individual\u27s belief in conspiracy theories, we used the Conspiracist Belief Scale questionnaire and the Items of Internet Use questionnaire to measure levels of internet adherence

Individuals are used for sexual and labor purposes and even for their organs. Human trafficking sounds like an issue that could only occur in other countries, but it is actually very common in the United States. Since there is disagreement of the definition of human trafficking, it is important for the legal definition and characteristics to be fully understood by both society and policymakers. In order for this to happen, policymakers will need to discuss ways to distinguish trafficking from smuggling, adoption, and sex work, but also create policies in order to protect the rights of those in sex work, being adopted, and going to a new country

No full textMy essay aims to analyze the foundational document of the United States of America: The Declaration of Independence (adopted in 1776). My analysis will utilize the three classic appeals from the Aristotelian rhetorical criticism method (ethos, logos, and pathos). I will share my observations about how Thomas Jefferson uses these three appeals to argue for the indignation and longing for independence felt by the members of Congress and the American people of the time. Jefferson illustrates his claims through many reasons (including, for example, how King George III has treated the colonies in a subpar way compared to other British-controlled territories). Jefferson, then, explains how Congress wanted to be treated fairly. Finally, Jefferson effectively argues to his intended audience of the King and other British lawmakers that the 13 colonies will no longer suffer under their tyrannical rule

Effect of Lancer Park Detention Pond on Stormwater Sediment ConcentrationsÂ
Get PDFDuring rain events, stormwater collects sediments and other pollutants during runoff and transports them to receiving water bodies. Detention ponds can reduce pollutant concentrations in stormwater by allowing particulate matter to settle out of the water column. The objective of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Longwood University\u27s Lancer Park stormwater detention pond in reducing sediment concentrations. This was accomplished by quantifying the difference between sediment concentrations of stormwater entering and leaving the pond. Inflow and outflow samples were collected from the pond for 3 separate rain events and the samples were filtered, dried, and weighed. The change in the sediment concentrations were used to determine the reduction in sediment provided by the detention pond. It is expected that the detention pond will significantly reduce the amount of sediment transported from the Lancer Park complex to the receiving stream (Buffalo Creek)
