Public Elementary School Teaching in the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Qualitative Study
No full textThis presentation reports the findings of a qualitative study of public school teachers\u27 experiences and perceptions of teaching and learning in the pandemic. Semi-structured interviews of 18 Virginia public elementary school teachers were conducted by students in Dr. Bidwell\u27s Honors Sociology of Education Class. Topics explored in the interviews include teachers\u27 experiences during the Spring 2020 transition to virtual learning, adaptations they made to teaching this academic year, challenges they and their students faced, teaching successes, and their predictions about how the pandemic will shape public education in the future

I want to help others to bypass this struggle by creating a way to transcend racial stereotypes through proper use of language. I would like do this by creating a book that demonstrates how language can be used to empower others and bring unity. My book will emphasize how no one is bound by their racial stereotype

Clothing and Compliments
Get PDFWe seek to see if the clothing a compliment receiver wears will affect how people perceive the importance of their compliments. If a participant compliments a confederate wearing informal clothing, they will then perceive their compliments as being less valuable than if they were to compliment a confederate with formal clothing. We did this by having individuals fill out a survey that evaluates how they believe their compliment will make someone feel. Then they went out and complimented a confederate. And finally, they took one more survey that evaluated how they believe their compliment made the individual feel
