Education is a process made up of stages. The processes differ with the programmed and non-programmed ededucation. An individual benefits from various libraries in accordance with his /her age level. In these libraries user education is provided in different forms and step by step. At the heart of the educational applications are users with individual differences. The librarians should know the characteristics of the educational process as well as the individual differences of user. This thesis has reached conclusions which will shed light on the applications of user education in the university libraries. Yet, the thesis has not touched upon the user education on libraries and information retrieval systems to be received by students at the levels of primary and secondary education. I believe that it will be quite useful to conduct scientific studies in the future on the education of younger library users

Türkiye'de ansiklopedik yayınlar ve 1980-1989 yılları arasında yayınlanan ansiklopedilerin değerlendirilmesi
The encyclopedia studies started with aim of conveying the in formation to readers in a systematic way by gathering them from all over the world, dates back to B.C. In our country, encyclopedical publications have remained as individual, mostly incomplete, unsuccessful studies up to 19th century. Collective studies starting from 1960, have been received with interest, but the lack of a national encyclopedia has always been felt. The number of encyclopedical publications have increased rapidly after 1980, but, publishing houses have given priority to their profits instead of paying attention to quality. While examining encyclopedias published between the years 1980 and 1989, we see that the majority of these publications are from translated sources received from unknown publishing houses. While reliabilty and aiding factors for usage are not taken into consideration, attention is paid to physical characteristics. School, family and health encyclopedias have been in front line in this area where mostly encyclopedias on subjects have been prepared. In conclusion, while emphasising the shortcomings and aims of these publications, it is touched on the lack of sources to provide aid to users for their choices and that there exists no supervision in this field. Various proposals are prepared in this regard
