Family Therapy – As an Inclusive Approach
Get PDFMost of the Balkan regions with the last transitions that they faced, passing from the communist organization toward the democratic organization, still are struggling with the after-effects of these alterations of the social systems, which resulted on the rapid demographic, cultural and social changes running fast ahead of its political and economic development. These modifications impacted the Balkan regions such as Kosovo and Albania as well. Times are changing all around the world and all these multiple recent worldwide development have been unravelling the fabric of traditional societies which were characteristic of such Balkanregions (Arial at al., 2014).Lots of regional wars, lately new territorial separations, new countries, the downfall of authoritarian regimes, the lood of refugees from rural areas toward the urban areas, labor seekers from poverty-stricken, destroyed countries from ethnic and civil wars, globalization, the internet and lots of similar variations resulted to inter-ethnic tension and violence as well as on modification of social values (Arial at al., 2014). All of these have bringing signiicant economic, social and cultural changes, often with unfavorable side effects for families and communities. Traditional community and family support system have found themselves unable to cope with such consequences (Ariel at al., 2014). The impact of all these changes on the functioning of the family is dramatic. That is exactly the kind of situation in which professional family therapy is called for. Furthermore, awareness for the need of cultural competency and sensitivity in family therapy theory and practice has been heightened in recent years, yet awareness of the existence and beneits of family therapy for potential beneiciaries is rather limited especially in Balkan regions (Arial at al., 2014).This paper will consist of presenting a case of the family and the work that was done with them based on the inclusive family therapy approach. During this period readers will be able to wider their view in systematic thinking of one problem by getting the insight on how the problem of one individual/ family is a result of wider system and visa verse how the problems of wider system impact the health and function of the individual/family
Syntheses of the Importance of Teaching Translation

language students being a very important part of their skills’ portfolio which will accompany
them in the labor market. Translation practice skills are an effective and useful teaching
instrument also in the EFL environment which is experiencing a welcome return after it was
neglected for more modern approaches. For the FL students to have a sustainable development in their translation practice skills, a thorough study on the approaches of translation teaching is of paramount importance. This article will bring an overview of the actual context of the translation teaching process in Albania demonstrating: the background of the teaching process of translation, the importance of the translation skills for the students, teaching resources and approaches, research into translation teaching. Finally this article comes to the conclusion that the evolution of the translation teaching is affected by theories of translation and that future translators should have as a basis the theories of teaching translation in their studies. Furthermore, a system of continuous training should be established for the existing lecturers of translation workshops in order for them to be in close contact with the developments associating translation studies, modern technology and teaching theories
How Eficacy Feel Student Teachers during Pedagogical Practice

Pedagogical practice is an important component that affects the professional development of student teacher. Eficiency of teachers is an important variable in the development of a teacher. Eficiency is connected with teaching and learning. How eficacy feel student teachers during teaching in pedagogical practice? This study undertakes to answer this question by stating attitude of student teachers in connection with variables of the Teachers’ Sense of Eficacy Scale during teaching in pedagogical practice. This finding may serve to improve the organization and planning of pedagogical practice. In this study participated 92 student teachers whose selection was done randomly. The data were collected through Teachers’ Sense of Eficacy Scale (TSES) short form, an instrument known and developed by Tschannen-Moran, & Woolfolk Hoy (2001). The collected data were analyzed
by using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Descriptive statistics was used to analyze the results of the respondents. Findings showed that as before and after practice, student teachers feel eficacy in the same aspects of teaching. Involving pupils is the aspect in which student teachers feel less eficient
Cognitive metaphors in Albanian political discourse: European Union integration, case study
Get PDFUntil the 1950-s metaphors were associated with the enchanting language of poets. It was only with the rise of cognitive linguistics that the traditional view witnessed serious challenges. The conceptual metaphor functions as a schematic cognitive structure (a ‘mould’) that can theoretically produce fininite instances of metaphorical expressions. Politics is one of the most influential parts of people`s lives. Politicians frequently make use of their “persuasive speeches” to inlict audiences, to make them believe that what they say is the best choice, the most appropriate decisions ever. Since Aristotle times rhetoric has got its primacy of place in the language, politicians use. Metaphors are considered as a lively component of this language in context. This article develops a basic tool for stylistic metaphor analysis to assess the role of cognitive metaphors in a corpus of political speeches in Albania. “Factors Associated with Child Maltreatment” (Case of Tirana Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence)
Get PDFThis paper is focused on the factors that cause violence on children at home environment. The author based her research work mainly on observations of children’s behavior and their interactions with mothers while staying at a ‘Shelter for Battered Women and Girls’. Children’s artwork, writing pieces, memories, playing mood were subject to interpretation. A group of twenty-two children were studied. Although the terms child abuse and neglect are frequently used together, actually they refer to two different types of problems, each taking different forms. A more appropriate comprehensive term is child maltreatment which can be divided into two major types: child abuse and child neglect (Faller, Bowden, Jones and Hildebrandt, 1981). The author believes that the results of this research will serve as an professional tool for social workers, psychologists, teachers and other professionals who work closely with children to help identify factors related to child abuse, prevention of abuse and treatment of physically, emotionally and sexually abused children
Political Decentralization and Local Government in Albania
Get PDFAt different fields of decentralization, many developing countries are trying to extend the functions of sub-national governments in providing public goods and services for their citizens. The incentives for decentralization play an important role in local government activity, as part of the government which impacts directly on people’s lives. Using as a case study Albania, this research aims to offer a better understanding of decentralization process and local government development towards sustainability. A review on decentralization experience indicates that Albanian decentralization has been grown in a fragile environment that has progressed slowly in its formation, as a result of various challenges and conditions. The data gathering method consists in qualitative and quantitative sources which are used to gain insights in the analysis of the thesis. The results of the study point out that the Albanian Government priority related to local government issues, is the execution of Administrative-Territorial Reform as an effective driver for local government sustainable development. Through it the national policy aims to increase capacity, further democratization, guarantee high efficiency of public services, creates premises for an integrated development and administrative consolidation.Epoka Universit
My Neighbors Children: Reflections on Possible Curriculum Design for Mutual Care
Get PDFThis work is a critical evaluation of learning potential for regional and global integration and co-existence processes. Considered are cultural and psychological elements and obstacles. The paper's starting points are three current cognitive researches that may aid thinking for Mutual Care curriculum design. Also as antecedents and anchoring the discourse are five community engagement projects with discreet or stated learning intentions aimed at integration, enrichment and mutual care. These projects lead to forming of or were carried out by Artship Foundation over last 40 years. The paper’s main interest is to evaluate conditions and articulate metaquestions that may point to a curriculum design that is not only intended for Balkan Counties but also as Pan-European and Global Learning project. The paper reflects on occurrences that help recognize inter-connectedness and mutual responsibility beyond specific geographies or
peoples. With universality of issues understood, the study dedicates itself to Balkan and South East European conditions and needs. The paper concludes with seven topics summarizing the issues of possible Mutual Care curriculum.

Ways to Establish Self-Regulation on the Part of the Albanian Electronic Media in Coherence with European Union Prospects
Get PDFThe electronic media in Albania are among the most competitive and developed actors in society and the media performance in industrial and commercial terms, is greater than ever before. However, their role as dynamic social institutions is neglected and the understanding of their contribution to democratic values and principles through their professional approach is often limited. Due to such an important role to play in a democratic society, the bureaucratic regulation from outside is necessary, but not the only way to achieve democratic standards, in coherence with the European Union directives regarding electronic communications. This paper tries to argue that for this end, it is of great importance to look at the implementation aspects related to processes of self-regulation on the part of the electronic media operators as well as continual and functional dialogue with the public authorities of the electronic media from a public interest approach. For this purpose, the methodology used to conduct the research is basically the media agency analysis and textual analysis. First, this paper is going to identify the media instruments and media practices at work that inhibit self-regulation on the part of the media itself. Secondly, public discourses on the part of the public authorities of the electronic media shall be discussed. In theoretical terms, in the area of media studies, this stance is fueled by the phenomenological tradition and the socio-cultural tradition. From within these combined approaches it is of most importance to look at the way the information is produced in terms of codes of practices as well as the interpretations of the texts produced. This objective-interpretative stance with ethnographic traits in qualitative terms should enable this paper to retrieve results such as the negative correlation between a lack of a Journalistic Code of Practice and a possible self-regulation prospect in professional terms, but also flaws in institutional and democratic standards expected. The analyses at a theoretical level begin with Berger and Luckmann’s theory of the “Social Construction of Reality”, go on with the notions of the social production of news, tracing back from authors such as Herbert Gans on “Deciding what’s news” or Michael Schudson on “The Sociology of news”. Finally the paper shall propose ways to establish a dialogue among the involved actors in order to raise the democratic standards and values in terms of social and public responsibility taking, through a professional approach to questions of ethics and quality of the media content
Causing non-contractual damages according to Albanian law
Get PDFThis study is mainly focused on handling the causing non-contractual damage, achieving a theoretical analysis of its constituent components as fault, causal connection, unlawful act or omission and damage compensation. Non-contractual liability is provided by our civil code, defining it as at fault or without fault liability. Our country, as a country in transition needs legal investment and its implementation into practice. One of the cases on which liability on damage compensation arises is the combination of the rights of persons, whose dignity has been infringed against the right that is explicitly sanctioned in the Constitution of the Republic of Albania, freedom of speech as well as thought, fundamental principles of law, but always without thereby infringing the dignity of a subject of law and and being faced with moral and material damages. In order to handle legally this issue as well as its civil legal consequences that threaten to influence on the entities that breach the law, but also their sensibilization.
