What Do Cooperative Firms Maximize, if at All? Evidence from Emilia-Romagna in the pre-Covid Decade
Get PDFThe Italian region Emilia-Romagna ranks first among the world’s most important cooperative districts. Using a unique dataset covering all firms registered in the region, we investigate the performance of active firms in the period 2010-18. By focusing on employment, revenue and profits of cooperative firms as compared to conventional firms, we disentangle the differences between the average performance of the two types of companies and detect the presence of a “size effect” driving much of the difference between them. Moreover, our results strengthen previous empirical evidence about the countercyclical role of cooperative firms: they seem to optimize a mixture of employment and profits, assigning a greater weight to the former during downturns and stagnation. Finally, we examine the regional logistics industry and compare also the profitability of employees in the two segments of the sector

In particular, the peoples that inhabitated ancient Lazio at the time of the rise of Rome are studied to the aim of determining their contribution to the origin of the city. The names of these peoples are then recognised as hidden in the names of the heroes or the cities remembered in the foundation myths. Lastly, the events reported in the mythology are reinterpreted by using a recent diffusion model which was defined by analysing the time and space distributions of ancient and current geographical names, ethnonyms, and eponyms

Get PDFIn un’epoca di grande pressione sugli ecosistemi naturali, l’uso del territorio per la conservazione della biodiversità, il recupero funzionale degli ecosistemi più degradati e di sistemi produttivi che si coniughino alle esigenze di biodiversità, hanno un ruolo strategico di primaria importanza per assicurare la sostenibilità delle risorse. La biodiversità è tutto ciò che abbiamo. Biodiversità è ossigeno, cibo, medicine, risorse economiche, resilienza e adattamento ai cambiamenti naturali, così come a quelli indotti dalle attività umane. Un mondo senza uccelli, insetti, prati, aree umide o boschi non sosterebbe la popolazione umana esistente, e certamente non renderebbe possibile la ripresa economica che tutti ci auspichiamo.
Abbiamo chiesto agli studenti del corso di “Ecosistemi, habitat protetti e ripristini ambientali” della Laurea Magistrale in “Progettazione e gestione degli ecosistemi agro-territoriali, forestali e del paesaggio” dell’Alma Mater Studiorum, Università degli Studi di Bologna, di fare un esercizio teorico-pratico sulla base di questa prospettiva e cioè di elaborare progetti di ripristino ambientale, conservazione della natura, e uso sostenibile delle risorse. Gli studenti hanno risposto con grande serietà ed entusiasmo a questa proposta formativa. Sono loro gli ideatori, interlocutori e anche i beneficiari dei progetti che vengono presentati in questo booklet. In alcuni casi hanno ritenuto opportuno coinvolgere la cittadinanza e le associazioni di volontariato locali per poter sviluppare i loro progetti sulla base delle esigenze dei fruitori di queste aree. Queste sono vere e proprie azioni di Citizen Science che integrano l’uso sostenibile dell’ambiente con le esigenze economiche e della società, e forniscono una prova della professionalità acquisita dai ragazzi in questo percorso.
Nell’elaborazione dei progetti i ragazzi sono stati affiancati e stimolati da esperti e professionisti di vari settori che hanno permesso di indirizzare l’esercizio teorico necessario per il sostenimento dell’esame alle esigenze specifiche e attuali dei territori studiati.
Con questo booklet desideriamo far conoscere agli addetti ai lavori, enti di gestione, aree protette, comuni, regioni, ai proprietari delle aree scelte come modello per l’esercizio progettuale e alla cittadinanza, i progetti sviluppati nei loro territori. Possono servire come spunto per la pianificazione e la gestione dei territori specifici, ma esprimono anche la necessità dei nostri ragazzi di un ambiente fatto di natura e biodiversit

In the Mirror of Hegelianism. Michel Henry’s “Religious” Phenomenology
Get PDFThe paper deals with a research hypothesis targeting the legacy of German idealism to the first foundation of Michel Henry’s “phenomenology of life”. Based on a series of archive documents, the paper reconstitutes the hermeneutical horizon in contrast with which the young Henry (1946-1963) defined his conception about phenomenology, philosophy and religion, i.e., the French existential-Hegelian debate (Wahl, Kojève, Hyppolite). The reconstitution (in the first part of the paper) of this dialogue between the young Henry and the French Hegelianism of 20th century will provide the theoretical framework for the analysis (in the second part) of Henry’s conceptualization of phenomenology and Christianity. The purpose is to investigate the significance of religion as phenomenon (and of its mediation) in Henry’s attempt to rethinking the transcendental relationship between Life and World

Get PDFZiel dieses Beitrags ist es, durch die Analyse eines Fallbeispiels zu veranschaulichen, wie das persönliche Spracherleben im Elsass im Kontext der Zweisprachigkeit (Französisch, Deutsch) und der Diglossie (elsässische Varietäten und Standarddeutsch) erinnert und verarbeitet wird. Das hier untersuchte Beispiel, das einen Zeitraum umfasst, der einen großen Teil des 20. Jahrhunderts umspannt, ermöglicht die Analyse verschiedener Prozesse, die mit dem individuellen Sprachrepertoire und bestimmten Aspekten der narrativen Identitätskonstruktion verbunden sind und auf einer subjektiven Perspektive basieren, die in der Sprachbiographie zutage tritt.
Nach einer Rekonstruktion der persönlichen Spracherfahrungen und des Sprachrepertoires des Informanten werden die wichtigsten Faktoren untersucht, die die Sprachen und Varietäten des Repertoires beeinflussen. Der Artikel untersucht auch den Prozess der Konstruktion einer narrativen Identität am Beispiel der elsässischen Varietät.
