Sguardi continentali.
MERGING-WP3-01-CUCONATO-CODEBOOK
The MERGING project addresses refugees’ reception and housing systems made available in several European countries by adopting a cross -national and comparative perspective. Access to adequate and affordable housing is regarded as one of the main actions t o integrate and include asylum seekers and refugees in Europe. However, to date the research and practice of models for integration tend to view housing as a complementary or secondary aspect with respect to other inclusion pillars such as language, work, or healthcare. The MERGING project, acknowledging the importance of housing for the inclusion and integration of refugees, has collected evidence about the institutional contexts of reference and five specific cases of housing in France, Italy, Spain, and Sweden. The project perspective may be described as constructivist: migrant inclusion through housing into our societies is seen as constructed by interactions between individual, collective and institutional actors situated and reproduced by discursive practices and embedded in discursive orders. An exploratory approach is required, in which several heuristic perspectives are applied and combined. In particular, each European partner collected:
• Semi-structured interviews with stakeholders (third sector NGOs, internationalorganizations, immigrants’ associations; public administration - governing bodies;public administration - service providers) to reconstruct the political and operationalcontext in which the project is located. • Semi-structured interviews with members of the community (neighborhood, church, newsagent, individual citizen, pharmacist, commercial activities) to reconstruct theextent to which the social context enhances/obstructs the project. • Biographical interviews with migrants (present on the territory for at least one year)to reconstruct the subjective meaning they attribute to housing as a starting pointfor integration. In this data set are collected five codebooks collecting the number of the Interviews conducted by each partner. Only aggregated data are included and not the interview transcripts. Each codebook included the following items: Code, Data Type, Partner involved, Interviewer(s), Interviewee, Date, Place, Length, and Materials used (Audio files, Transcripts, Pictures, Notes, Others)
REMODEL. WP5. Cable Manipulation Planning Execution And Interactive Perception. T5_2. Cable Grasping. Shared Control Cable Grasping. v0
The dataset contains the user test data obtained during the shared control manipulation of cable and wires carried out in the framework of Horizon 2020 REMODEL project. Specifically, the experiments were focused on testing a novel teleoperation framework in which an intuitive manipulation of deformable linear objects (DLOs) is achieved by means of visual aid. The developed system alternates between two main control modes: free teleoperation and cable targeting modes. In free teleoperation mode the remote manipulator’s behavior is directly controlled through the operator’s motions. The operator is able to freely move the robot in different workspace areas and interact with the environment. In cable targeting mode, the system performs a scan of the environment to search for existing cables and docks the robot to the most likely target (nearest DLO detected). The data were obtained performing 10 user tests, comparing the manipulation of DLOs with and without the cable target mode in addition to the free teleoperation mode (always available).
The results of these experiments are described in:

Belt and Road Initiative: The emerging China-EU railway and the opportunity for Italy
It has been a decade since the President Xi Jinping officially announced the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), commonly known also as One Belt One Road (OBOR). Defined as the largest political infrastructural project, BRI has not equivalent that rivals its scale, ambition and commitment.
As a combination of two existing routes, the Silk Road Economic Belt (SREB) and the 21st Maritime Silk Road Initiative (MSRI), the project primarily aims at connecting three continents – Asia, Europe and Africa – through a number of infrastructure investments along both the maritime and land routes.
The present research is articulated in three main parts: opened by a descriptive introduction that frames the BRI, the first paragraph focuses on one of the most important branches of the project that is the railway line linking China and Europe. The second paragraph proceeds with a comparative analysis, conducted with the main purpose of detecting the pros and cons of each freight transportation mode, namely sea, air and railway. The analysis provides information about time and costs, including an investigation on the correlation between the transport mode and the category of goods shipped.
In the end, the paper investigates the possible impact that the China-EU railway development could bring on Italy. The strategic geographical position and the crucial role within the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) provides Italy the opportunity to benefit from the development of China-EU railway. Italy geographical location and its leading position in the machinery sector will be evaluated as two potential strengths to enhance within the emerging China-EU railway
Weaving Myths. Two Women's Voices From the Caucasus.
This research is devoted to a comparison of the prose work of two prominent women writers in the context of the post-Soviet Caucasus: Alisa Ganieva and Ana Kordzaia-Samadashvili. Through their use of myths from various cultures of the world, Ganieva and Kordzaia-Samadashvili succeed in creating original stories of women that lay the basis of what is becoming the new Canon in Russian and Georgian literature. Tapping into the suggestive, arcane power of myths, the oldest relics of the past, they operate a regrouping of values, further problematizing the role of women in times of radical change. Therefore, these two case studies appear to be particularly relevant to describe the paradigmatic cultural shift that occurred in a specific region – that of the Caucasus, – once entirely part of the Soviet Union
molte colture arboree.

NewTechAqua. Task 1.2. Comparison between 5 experimental diets containing various percentage of by-products from fishery and aquaculture on growth and fish health of European sea bass
The dataset contains raw data about new experimental European sea bass diets, obtained in the framework of Horizon 2020 NewTechAqua project. Five experimental diets were formulated to totally replace wild-caught fishmeal (FM), fish oil (FO) and soy protein (SP) using fisheries and aquaculture by-products, and alternative vegetable protein. The data were obtained before, after and during the laboratory trial, in order to test these experimental diets on European sea bass. The raw data include biological parameters, such as initial and final body weight, feed administration, Ambiental parameter, and values of plasma biochemistry, consisting in 25 blood parameters, generally used to detect animal health. All data were then processed with formulas and indices to obtain growth results and evaluate nutritional indices

[The last Thule: a journey towards the roots of the law] The mythical geographical place of the last Thule has been reinterpreted in modern times from a nationalist perspective and, with the contribution of theosophy and occultist thought, has landed in the twentieth-century to support the theses of the Aryan myth. The revival of the sources of antiquity makes it possible to reconstruct its authentic meaning and to glimpse in it an openness to otherness and the transcendent, indispensable conditions for the recovery of the foundation of law
Equity-settled share-based payments and their (stategic) use under asymmetric information
Share-based payments are of widespread use in today’s economy. Consulting firms are increasingly accepting equity compensation for their services (particularly from startups)
and many governments provide fiscal incentives to support this choice. Likewise, profitsharing licensing is an on-trend business practice by innovative firms and patent holders when transferring their technology to interested adopters. This paper unveils strategic considerations according to which an agent/seller designs its optimal policy in regard to the equity share to request in exchange for its service, technology or trademark. The model assumes a fringe of interested users/customers differentiated by both the support they need from the seller and the value of the underlying relationship; and also holding an informational disadvantage on their own types. Given the seller’s cost configuration, equilibrium outcomes entail entering a profit-sharing relationship either with the hightype customers only; or with all customers, but in this case based on equity-based payment claims that –for rent extraction purposes– are common (i.e., not differentiated) across types
