Tratamiento de italianismos en tres diccionarios del español de la Argentina. Un análisis glotopolítico

    Get PDF

DIANA. Anti-Candida activity of biosurfactant from Lactobacillus gasseri BC12

    No full text
This dataset contains data collected in the project DIANA - Postbiotici per la salute della Donna e delle nuove generazionI: una strategiA “bio” e “greeN” in linea con le priorità di innovAzione e sviluppo sostenibile [Postbiotics for women's health and new generations: a “bio” and "green" strategy in line with the priorities of innovation and sustainable development], funded by the Fondazione del Monte di Bologna e Ravenna – Settore Ricerca Scientifica Bando 2021. Some technological features, i.e. critical micellar concentration and emulsification index, of a biosurfactant (BS) recovered from Lactobacillus gasseri BC12 were evaluated. After that, two different type of antimicrobial activities of BS-BC12 were investigated toward Candida spp. The anti-biofilm activity of BS solubilized in water toward C. abicans and non albicans species was evaluated by considering two mechanisms of action: inhibition of biofilm formation and eradication of pre-formed biofilm. The impact of BS on the proliferation of HeLa cells was studied by MTT assay. The anti-adhesive activity of BS toward Candida spp. was determined on the same cells by competition and exclusion assays

Nem os aqueus foram tão bárbaros! Os desaparecidos forçados do Araguaia e a omissão do Brasil em revelar o destino de seus corpos

[Even the Achaeans were not so barbaric! The enforced disappearances of Araguaia and Brazil's failure to reveal the fate of their bodies]. This essay has as its main object of analysis the fact that Brazil, notwithstanding having ratified the American Convention on Human Rights and the main international treaties related to the prevention and repression of the enforced disappearance of persons, as well as having been condemned by the IACHR to revealing the whereabouts and/or location of the body of the politically disappeared in the Case Gomes Lund and others vs. Brazil it still remains silent and omitted to comply with its international obligations, revealing a purely discursive character of the constitutional principle of the prevalence of Human Rights. This circumstance becomes even more evident from the reading of the poetic work of Luiza Romão, whose poem “homero”, from the book Também guardamos pedras aqui, served as a comparative paradigm for the distinction between civilization and barbarism. The methods adopted were transdisciplinarity and legal criticism, using jurisprudential and bibliographical research as a procedure

Check List delle Briofite delle Marche

    Get PDF

AEQUITAS. WP7. T7.3. Hiring Data For STEM Field. v1.0

    No full text
This dataset contains information about the hiring process conducted by Akkodis for job positions and candidates belonging to the STEM field. The data of the candidates have been thoroughly anonymized. The data contains the curricula of candidates and the details of the job positions to which they were matched. The candidates and job positions are explicitly selected among the STEM field (including but not limited: computer science, engineering, physics, mathematics, chemistry, etc.). More detailed information can be found in the README file included in the compressed archive. The goal of the data is to allow the study of bias in terms of: 1) class imbalanced dataset in favour of the election of a specific gender, age, race, social background, thus against a selected group of people or minorities; 2) interpretation (recruiter) bias. This activity is part of the HORIZON-CL4-2021-HUMAN-01-24-AEQUITAS project (g.a. 101070363). The aim of AEQUITAS to address and tackle the multiple manifestations of bias and unfairness in Artificial Intelligence (AI) from a variety of dimensions, such as the development of AI tools, the data used to train, test and validate them or the interpretation practices developed around them

SYMPATHINF. Efficacy evaluation of non-selective beta-blocker prophylaxis in eradicating bacteremia in pigs

    No full text
The dataset includes data on biochemical, hematological and physiological parameters, alongside flow cytometric analyses, resulting from an in vivo study aimed at testing in a pig model the efficacy of a pharmacological prophylaxis targeting sympathetic reflex control of immunity to mitigate systemic infection. The trial was conducted in pigs subjected to porcine intravenous bacteremia and was performed at the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences of the University of Bologna, within SYMPATHINF project. Briefly, all animals underwent surgical procedures for the insertion of a venous catheter and a telemetric disposable for the measurement of core body temperature. These surgical procedures were conducted five days before the bacterial challenge (in the files appointed as Day -5). Pigs were then randomly divided in two experimental groups (n=4 each): a control group (appointed as “Control”) and a group orally administered with propranolol (3 mg/Kg; 3x/day; appointed as “Propranolol-treated”), a non-selective beta-blocker which interrupts the communication between the sympathetic nerves and immune cells, limiting the anti-inflammatory action of sympathetic nervous system. The pharmacological treatment started two days before the bacterial challenge (appointed as Day -2) and was continued for the following 14 days (from Day2 to Day14, as appointed in the files). On the challenge day, each pig was intravenous injected with a bolus of 1.4x104 CFU/Kg of Escherichia coli. Throughout the study, blood samples were collected for various analyses, such as blood bacterial count, complete blood count, clinical chemistry analysis, flow cytometric assays on leukocytes harvested from pigs, to test their phagocytic capacity, in order to verify the efficacy of the pharmacological prophylaxis in eradicating the infection
