Research data for enhancing water use efficiency (WUE) and yield in Lactuca sativa: a comparative study of simplified soilless cultivation (SSC) versus traditional soil-based systems in Colombia

This dataset explains a study conducted in Popayán, a city in Cauca region of southern Colombia, aiming a evaluate the effectiveness of a simplified soilless system for growing lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) compared to traditional soil-based cultivation. The soilless system "Garrafas PET," was built using locally available materials such as bamboo poles and recycled plastic bottles, making it an accessible and cost-effective solution. Different types of growing substrates were tested, including coconut fiber, peat, carbonized rice husk, and a combination of all three (1:1:1)

Matlab Scripts for Voxelization and One-dimensional Lattice structures for industrial components using Function Representation

    No full text
These scripts present an efficient method for designing struct-and-node lattice structures for industrial applications. Traditional computer-aided design tools struggle with lattice structures due to the high complexity and many facets typical of digital models, necessitating alternatives. An approach based on function representation is usually adopted for triply periodic minimal surface lattices but not for strut-and-node lattices, which are the topic of this study. The proposed method defines the base unit cell geometry using function representation primitives and operations, followed by triangulation and spatial replication. Unlike conventional techniques, this method eliminates the need for boundary representations of lattice structure models, leading to more efficient data handling. The results of this research have broad implications for developing lightweight 3D components optimized for additive manufacturing. The approach is intended for industrial applications where designing complicated geometries quickly and efficiently is necessary to achieve lightweight components

    Reference data for isolated pyrrole

The dataset includes input and output files for the fitting of the rotational and vibrorotational transition lines related to the v=0,1,2 vibrational states of the NH out-of-plane bending motion of pyrrole in the gas phase using the SPFIT program of the CALPGM suite. The following information is provided: (i) fitting files for the normal species including pure rotational line transition of the ground and first excited vibrational state and vibrorotational bands of the fundamental, first overtone, and first hot band using the S-reduction and the Watson's III-l representation. (ii) fitting files for the normal species including pure rotational line transition of the ground and first excited vibrational state and vibrorotational bands of the fundamental, first overtone, and first hot band using the Watson's S-reduction and the I-r representation. (iii) fitting files for the rotational transition lines of the 13C2 isotopologue using the Watson's S-reduction and the III-l representation. (iv) fitting files for the rotational transition lines of the 13C3 isotopologue using the Watson's S-reduction and the III-l representation

This dataset reports the clinicopathological variables of Complete Blood Counts (CBCs) and of serum chemistry used to investigate the interference of lipemia on platelet count (optical counting technique) by a flow-cytometry-based automated hematology analyzer (Advia 2120i) in 9,535 EDTA blood samples of 3,870 dogs

La costruzione giuridica delle città alle origini della vicenda espropriativa nazionale: una prospettiva di Law and Humanities

[The Legal Construction of Cities at the Origins of the National Expropriation Framework: a Law and Humanities Perspective]. Expropriation for reasons of public utility was the subject of one of the most significant unification laws enacted in 1865. The history of this institution, with its myriad practical implications, is closely tied to the complex topic of the legal construction of Italian cities, reimagined for the first time through a national lens. This fertile field of inquiry reveals how the centralist ambition of the unitary legislator had to contend with diverse demands, which found strong allies in the literature and artistic eclecticism of the late 19th century

La “cura” dei beni comuni urbani nell’intersezione tra città e diritto. Problemi e prospettive dell’Amministrazione condivisa nel caso di Vico Corridoio a Foggia

[The care of urban commons goods at the intersection of city and law. Problems and perspectives of shared administration in the case of Vico Corridoio in Foggia] The grassroots reappropriation of urban space is now a global phenomenon at the center of interdisciplinary interest. Citizens, acting as protagonists, aim to overturn the condition of peripheralization of the city by identifying the care of common goods as the grounds for claiming new social rights. Starting from this reflection, the case of Vico Corridoio in the historic center of Foggia presents itself as an opportunity to lay the groundwork for a (first) reconnaissance of the new forms of self-organization currently existing in this context. The analyzed case shares the aim of offering an alternative narrative to the stigmatization of the city: from the fight against social marginalization to the promotion of well-being, up to the redemption of the widespread and abandoned cultural heritage. The empirical study will be accompanied by a legal analysis, focusing on legal instruments aimed at promoting social economic, and socio-cultural regeneration and the requalification of buildings and urban spaces in the international and European policy framework. In particular, the analysis will cover the law of the so-called Third Sector and the legal instruments adopted in the Italian framework (i.e. co-programming, co-design, and agreements). In terms of the expected socio-legal impact, the analysis of this initial case and the involved actors, along with an examination of the current legislation, aims to formulate proposals to facilitate its formal recognition by the Public Administration. This is to lay the groundwork for initial hypotheses of shared administration in the care and management of Foggia’s common goods

Hyperspectral imaging for precision nitrogen fertilization management: an open access dataset

    No full text
The following dataset was used for the publication "Hyperspectral imaging for precision nitrogen management: a comparative exploration of two methodological approaches to estimate optimal nitrogen rate in processing tomato" (DOI 10.1016/j.atech.2025.100802). The dataset includes hyperspectral reflectance data from 400 to 1000 nm, monitored in an open field experiment in tomato crop with different nitrogen fertilization level. At five moments of the growing season the aboveground biomass (AGB) and the nitrogen nutrition index (NNI) were monitored and reported in the following dataset. On the same sampling date, the crop reflectance was monitored with an unmanned aerial vehicle. The data were generated in the framework of the “FrontAg Nexus” project

    Mucoadhesive polymer-coated liposomes

    No full text
This dataset contains data collected in the project “Development of nanoparticles for the treatment of emerging infections” funded by EU within the NextGeneration EU-MUR PNRR Extended Partnership initiative on Emerging Infectious Diseases (Project no. PE00000007, INF-ACT) - CUP: J33C22002870005. Among all vaginal infectious diseases, aerobic vaginitis (AV) has high rates of recurrence, due to low treatment efficacy. AV is characterized by the overgrowth of aerobic microbes, a possible local pH increase and high inflammation. Local administration of antibiotics through conventional dosage forms usually leads to poor drug delivery or inadequate drug accumulation at the infection site, needing multiple administrations and increasing the risk of antibiotic resistance. In this context, nanocarriers, like liposomes, have shown peculiar advantages, including increasing the solubility of drugs and controlling their release. Furthermore, liposome-coating with mucoadhesive polymers could assure an increased drug residence time and favor its accumulation on mucosal-infected surfaces. In the present study, azithromycin (AZT)-containing liposomes, coated with two biocompatible polymers, chitosan and sodium hyaluronate, were developed with the final aim of controlling drug release, increasing drug retention time and accumulation in the vaginal mucosae. This dataset provides the data relative to the development and physical-chemical, microbiological and functional characterization of the LP formulations. Particularly, the dataset supplies raw data of vesicles size, polydispersity index, zeta-potential, encapsulation efficiency, in vitro drug release, mucoadhesion properties, antimicrobial activity, stability and in vitro drug permeation
