Law, sacrifice and justice in the city of Venice] This short essay, starting from the mimetic theory of the French anthropologist René Girard, gives an interpretation of The Merchant of Venice. The story of to the contract signed between the Jew Shylock and the merchant Antonio takes place in the city of Venice and stages a real mimetic crisis that the Venetians overcome thanks to the sentence inflicted on the Jew, a real scapegoat of events. The essay, analyzing the relationship between sacrifice and justice, raises the question whether the playwright's verses do represent an attempt to reveal the meaning of what René Girard has defined as texts of persecution or, rather, if they should be considered one of them

Get PDFOn October 28th, 2022 the international conference "Velimir Khlebnikov 1922-2022: One Hundred Years of a Myth" was held at the Alma Mater University of Bologna, Italy. The aim of this event, involving some of the most eminent specialists in the field, was to commemorate the centenary of the death of Velimir Khlebnikov (1885-1922). It was not only a reflection on the life and work of this great Russian author, but also an exploration of the enduring myth that has grown up around the poet since his lifetime, a myth that has continued to shape and influence literary and cultural discourse well beyond the time of his passing. This volume contains a selection of papers delivered during the conference, as well as new contributions. They provide a comprehensive and multifaceted representation of Velimir Khlebnikov’s work and legacy. They illustrate the richness of his oeuvre, the complexity of the myth around the poet, and the ongoing relevance of Khlebnikov’s work in contemporary literature and literary studies. Through their diverse methodologies and perspectives, these contributions offer new insights into the ways in which Khlebnikov has been received, interpreted, and reimagined over the past century

No full textThe dataset contains the bibliography and notes of the two workshops organized at UCLA during the outgoing phase of the Horizon 2020 “ANIMATE” project. The first workshop was entitled “Swimming, Diving, Immersion: some methodological questions for art history” and it was organized as part of the 30th École de Printemps in Art History on June 13, 2022. The second workshop was held within the “Making Green Worlds” Seminar for Graduate Students, Dept. Art History, on November 27, 2023. Both workshops brought an environmental humanities approach to the study of early modern art history and multimediality to the fore. For the first workshop, a series of readings were pre-circulated and discussed. For the second workshop, a series of readings were pre-circulated and discussed along with GIF animations on ppt. These latter aimed to explore how perceptions and ideas about ecosystems were construed and reconfigured through their material reproduction on stage. The animations are not published as their sources are protected by copyright, instead detailed bibliographic information about the sources used to realize them are contained in this dataset in tabular format

No full textThis dataset, developed as part of the Horizon 2020 HOLAHERIS project, contains data related to the strain monitoring under controlled loading and the numerical modeling of the cantilever staircase in the Museum of the City of New York. The experimental strain data recorded under human loads resulting from fiber-optic sensors installed in the intrados of a representative tread are collected herein. In addition, numerical strain data obtained by means of a 3D solid finite element model of the staircase, where each tread interacts with the adjacent ones through contact, are also collected here, together with the geometry and the mesh of the finite element model

Il contributo affronta il rapporto tra i sistemi di contabilità analitica e i modelli organizzativi per garantire la sostenibilità dei servizi pubblici sanitari.
Si considera il modo in cui sono cambiati gli oggetti di riferimento della contabilità in sanità a seguito dell’evoluzione dei servizi e come si sono evoluti i sistemi informativi dedicati alla loro osservazione e valutazione.
Per illustrare il necessario riorientamento si prenderà ad esempio il caso della frattura di femore che permette di riflettere su obiettivi, modelli valutativi e responsabilità dei servizi.
Si delinea infine il contributo che gli aziendalisti possono offrire nel definire rinnovati oggetti di costo e nuovi indicatori di riferimento, atti a orientare e controllare i comportamenti organizzativi.
Pertanto, obiettivo del presente elaborato è l’identificazione dei cambiamenti in atto – in ambito sanitario pubblico – svolta accogliendo una prospettiva economico-aziendale nonché la definizione delle prime linee di indirizzo di un nuovo sistema di controllo, necessario a fronteggiare tali cambiamenti. Al fine di perseguire l’obiettivo suddetto si delineerà un quadro concettuale di riferimento, foriero di consentire riflessioni e aprire future linee di ricerca

Urban regeneration and reuse of places of worship in social inclusion processes] Urban regeneration processes centered on the cultural and social valorization of abandoned buildings of worship can represent a particularly useful action to prevent the marginalization of the suburbs and to promote the social integration of migrants and foreigners within the destination con-texts. Conversely, the sharing or loaning of underused Catholic places of worship to more recently established religious groups can significantly contribute to social cohesion. The paper aims to highlight the impact of the reuse of abandoned places of worship in the processes of social inclusion and, specifically, in the affirmation on an effective level of the “right to the city”, which in contemporary multi-religious societies cannot ignore the guarantee of the right of religious communities to have places where they can freely practice their worship
