Nano-ImmunoERA. WP2 T2.1. Nanomaterial-based biosensing. Electrochemical immunosensor based on carbon quantum dot modified screen-printed carbon electrode for detection of cardiac Troponin I. v1
The presented dataset contains data produced in the framework of the Horizon Europe Nano-ImmunoERA project, regarding the size, photophysical and electrochemical properties of carbon quantum dots (CQDs). The aim of the study was to develop a highly sensitive electrochemical immunosensor for the detection of cardiac Troponin I (cTnI), based on screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE) modified with two types of CQDs: CQD-COOH and CQD-NH2. The resulting CQD-modified SPCE immunosensors demonstrated promising performance, achieving detection limits of 62 pg/mL and 171 pg/mL, respectively. This straightforward sensor design provides valuable insights into fabricating paper-based printed electrodes enhanced with novel carbon-based nanomaterials, paving the way for immunosensors capable of detecting other disease biomarkers

LinPePrensa.
Theory, practice or an impracticable combination of the two? Contradictory ideas in nineteenth-century ministerial syllabi for English in Italian technical schools
This contribution deals with the impact that the institutionalisation of modern foreign language teaching in post-Unification Italy had on the contents and the teaching approaches adopted in the new national education sector. Two official syllabi for the teaching of English as a foreign language in higher-rank state technical schools (istituti tecnici), issued in 1876 and 1886 respectively, are examined with the view of identifying the general ideas, continuities and changes in the approaches to modern foreign language teaching as endorsed in the official governmental documentation
UrbanFarm 2024: Integrating social, economic and environmental sustainability pillars for inmates rehabilitation in the new Trelleborg prison in Sweden
The international student challenge UrbanFarm2024, which has now reached its 6th edition, is dedicated to the design of new spaces, activities, and solutions for the development of a new prison facility in Trelleborg (SKÅNE, Sweden): the aim is to integrate the prison's architectural design with agricultural facilities to facilitate inmates rehabilitation through farming activities, while, at the same time, reaching fruit and vegetables self-sufficiency within the facility. Similarly to previous editions, the teams had the task of bridging the most innovative strategies in urban farming as well as environmental technology and solutions with multifunctional planning of the prison's external spaces. Moreover, students also had the opportunity to discuss their solutions with the Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Kriminalvarden) in Malmö. Through this challenge, teams must apply their knowledge in real contexts, dealing with the environment and spaces as well as with the local policies. Moreover, they gain a significant opportunity to exchange views and approaches with their peers from different countries as well as backgrounds. Their dissemination and soft skills may also take advantage and be improved, for instance in how to prepare a promotional video or how to orally present their project in front of an audience, making this challenge an important teaching tool.
This publication aims to summarize the main ideas, projects, and solutions that student teams brought together with enthusiasm, dedication, and effort. We believe that these kinds of ideas and projects may not only raise awareness on these topics but also inspire urban planners and institutions to foster the sustainability and liveability of their cities
Come coniugare quindi arte e cittadinanza globale?
ICDS: Informal city design studio. Esperienze sullo spazio urbano contemporaneo
[ICDS. Informal city design studio. Experiences on the contemporary urban space] The paper aims to narrate the ICDS (https://www.icdslab.com/), a research laboratory at the Department of Architecture of Federico II, which emerges as a place of experimenta-tion to define the contribution of architecture schools in the construction of urban space as a site of relationships, capable of embracing the plural, informal, and fluid di-mension of contemporary civitas. These experiences inquire into the “right to the city,” seeking to focus on the role of the architect as a figure capable of reading and interpret-ing contexts in their multidimensionality. Building upon these premises, ICDS utilizes informality as a tool to interpret the context and overcome an authorial approach that caters to the universal needs of the average man

UNESCO. Turismo sostenibile fra patrimonio locale e cittadinanza globale
[Guilt, justice and the eyes of the walls. Notes of a criminal lawyer walking the streets of the city] The hypothesis of a criminal law of places is assessed under three different profiles and tested on the city case. Taking cues from architectural elements, particularly those allowing or precluding sight, the path proposes a survey of different modes of justice as a gaze and roles of ruled spaces in options of observance, transgression, separation, inclusion, punishment, reconciliation. The possibility is suggested of a shared representation of places of reconciliation, unitively narrated from multiple observation points of urban histories and geographies. Foremost, the need emerges to begin the walk, according to justice, under the towers, along the windows and even beyond contemporary city gates, for an inevitable encounter with the other, whose gaze is only departure and trail sign for recognition
