Me.Te. Digitali.
Data related to the development of a nasal spray for the local delivery of the new strain Lactiplantibacillus plantarum BIA
This dataset contains data collected in the research activities concerning the development of a mucoadhesive nasal spray containing the new strain Lactiplantibacillus plantarum BIA. Lactiplantibacillus plantarum BIA was isolated from orange peels and taxonomically identified by sequencing the 16S rRNA gene. Its ability to inhibit various pathogens, such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Streptococcus pyogenes, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, and Staphylococcus aureus was demonstrated as well as its anti-inflammatory properties. The strain was then formulated as a freeze-dried matrix to be reconstituted in a hydroxypropyl methylcellulose solution. Reconstitution medium was selected among different polymer solutions based on properties like pH, viscosity and mucoadhesiveness. BIA viability in its dried and reconstituted form was assessed for up to 3 months and 1 week, respectively, and the final formulation was evaluated for its mucoadhesive properties, antimicrobial activity against the tested pathogens and anti-inflammatory potential
ANIMATE. WP1. T1-1. Primary Sources Savoy Spectacles, text. 1.0
The dataset contains the primary sources at the core of the Horizon 2020 ANIMATE project, namely the 12 albums created by Giovanni Tommaso Borgonio for spectacles performed at the Savoy court of Christine of France between 1640 and 1660. The 8 albums held at the Biblioteca Nazionale Universitaria di Torino are included in the dataset as .pdf format files (these albums have been digitised and are available free of charge as .pdf files in low resolution on the "Internet Culturale" portal, https://www.internetculturale.it/). Due to copyright restrictions, the 3 albums held at the Biblioteca Reale di Torino and the 1 held in a private collection are not preserved and made available in the dataset as .pdf. As an alternative, a bibliography of these four albums is provided with detailed information in tabular form (i.e. typology of the performance, author, title, place, date, author of the album, location of the album, call number, number of sheets, language, date of the album, extant printed report, extant sheet music). This .cvs file also contains the bibliographic details of the 8 albums held in at the Biblioteca Nazionale Universitaria di Torino. The dataset contains also a .cvs with the information regarding the sources (i.e. 17th-century account books) examined at the Archivio di Stato di Torino (location, section, archival fonds, header, volumes, dates, subject of the information) and a .cvs with the information regarding the sources (i.e. 17th-century printed reports for festivals staged across the Duchy of Savoy) examined at the Archivio Storico di Stato della Città di Torino (location. collection, box, date and place, title)

The analysis was conducted in the framework of Horizon 2020 ANIMATE project. The results of the analysis are presented in the following publication: “Nature, Commodities, and Bodies in Baroque Ballets across the Savoy State: Choreographies of Transmutation and Consumption”, 35th CIHA World Congress “Motion: Migrations” Conference Proceedings (São Paulo: Vasto 2023) 665-681
Foodomics 2024: fifteen years on from. Where are we now, what’s next
In the past years we have acquired new knowledge, but are we sure we are interpreting it in the right way? Are we on the right path to arrive at a food system transition that will take us to the desired goals? This is the fil rouge that links the 4 sessions of this edition of FoodOmics, whose titles are not by chance always a question.
What’s wrong and right with ultra-processed foods?
Food and health. Are we working from the right perspective?
Are alternative sources of nutrients a reliable alternative?
Nutrient bioaccessibility and bioavailability. Do we need a new nutrition label

Divorce, domestic violence, and help seeking
This paper examines the impact of the 2014 Italian divorce law on help-seeking behavior of domestic violence victims and femicides. I find that contrary to expectations, the reform, which aimed to make divorce cheaper while requiring mutual consent, led to a decrease in help-seeking behavior among intimate partner violence (IPV) survivors and an increase in femicides perpetrated by husbands. These findings suggest that while reducing the cost of divorce may empower individuals to leave abusive relationships, the requirement for mutual consent may inadvertently escalate violence as husbands seek to assert control and prevent separation. The study underscores the importance of considering the unintended consequences of divorce legislation and prioritizing the safety of IPV survivors in family policy interventions
