The dataset contains the edition of 1014 inscriptions belonging to the IGCyr2-GVCyr2 corpus, along with the list of the bibliographic entries and 8 authority lists referred to in the editions. The inscriptions are encoded in the TEI-EpiDoc XML standard.
The critical editions of the IGCyr2-GVCyr2 corpus are: Dobias-Lalou, Catherine. Inscriptions of Greek Cyrenaica. Second Edition in collaboration with Alice Bencivenni, Hugues Berthelot, with help from Simona Antolini, Silvia Maria Marengo, and Emilio Rosamilia; Dobias-Lalou, Catherine. Greek Verse Inscriptions of Cyrenaica. Second Edition in collaboration with Alice Bencivenni, with help from Joyce M. Reynolds and Charlotte Roueché. Bologna: Alma Mater Studiorum Università di Bologna, 2024. ISBN 9788854971370, https://doi.org/10.60760/unibo/igcyrgvcyr2.
The IGCyr2-GVCyr2 corpus updates two corpora published online in 2017, the first collecting all the inscriptions of Greek (VII-I centuries B.C.) Cyrenaica, the second gathering the Greek metrical texts of all periods (VI B.C.-VI A.D.). These new critical editions of inscriptions from Cyrenaica are part of the international project Inscriptions of Libya (InsLib). They now include all the inscriptions known to us in February 2024, coming from this area of the ancient Mediterranean world, assembled in a single online and open access publication
Data for the application of a robust MALDI mass spectrometry approach for bee pollen investigation
The dataset contains results on honeybee pollen extracted and analyzed with MALDI MS.
Our experiment involved honeybee pollen grains from five different Italian regions (Campania, Sardinia, Sicily, South Tirol and Tuscany) through the spring 2023. Pollen sample were collected from the honeybee colonies with standard pollen traps every two weeks for four months. The generated dataset concern different pollen extraction methods. In order to define the best experimental conditions to record robust and the most representative and distinguishable spectra for a pollen species, different conditions of extraction were tested, four different solutions: (a) 2M acetic acid 2M (2M AA) and 50% acetonitrile (50% ACN); (b) AA 2M; (c) 2% ACN and 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid (0.1% TFA); and (d) a solution of 1% TFA) and two mechanical extraction methods (stirring and ultrasonication). Moreover, 10-fold serial dilutions of the crude extracted material from the different bee pollen balls were evaluated (10, 100 and 1,000 times) to determine the most appropriate sample to matrix ratio
Artivismo e diritti umani
[Artivism and human rights] This article is the result of two academic extension works at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro carried out by the Human Rights Laboratory (LADIH/UFRJ) research group on the impact of art in vulnerable territories at the margins of the city. The theoretical basis is the critical theory of human rights and the critical theory of culture
CLaRMaV. Data Management Plan. Version 1.0
The DMP is a document that evolves during the lifespan of the project and registers all relevant changes in the life-cycle of all the research datasets. In particular, it explains the way research data are handled, organized, licensed and made available to the public, and how they will be preserved after the project is completed. The DMP also addresses situations where project research data cannot be openly shared due to copyright issues, confidentiality, personal data protection, or the risk of jeopardizing project achievements. This DMP provides details on all the research data collected and generated within the CLaRMaV project (HORIZON-TMA-MSCA-PF-GF 2022-101106554), which is a mandatory submission due in month 6 of the project. It reflects the current state of the art of the CLaRMaV project. However, the details and the final number of datasets may vary during the research project. The variations will be recorded in updated versions of this DMP
From knowledge telling to knowledge transforming. Towards a new view of writing in English language teaching in Italian universities in the last two decades of the 20th century
The late 1970s marked the beginning of a long period of experimentation in the teaching of English language (as opposed to its literature) in Italian universities, which mainly involved academics working in non-linguistic faculties (Politics, Economics and Commerce, etc.). In the
1980s and the 1990s, applied research in ESP (English for Specific Purposes) became particularly prominent and led to the publication of several teaching materials aimed at Italian university students which mainly focused on the teaching of reading. In the international context, on the
other hand the 1980s and the 1990s saw a reappraisal of writing not only as an essential component of a student’s communicative competence but also as a key skill in the process of acquisition of new knowledge. In this paper, I will investigate how increasingly more importance was given to writing in the Italian university context in the last two decades of the 20th century, through the analysis of a corpus of ESP materials aimed at Italian university students
Tradurre i Nibelunghi: una questione di ritmo
A text like the “Nibelungenlied” confronts the translator with a huge responsibility: any endeavour to restore its narrative tension and musicality inevitably yields a new text, one that is inspired by the model but not identical to it. This article delves into several Italian translations of the “Nibelungenlied”, each of which has made significant efforts to amplify the poem’s rhythmic elements. The goal is to explore the interplay between the original text and the reception context, finally reflecting on possible paths to respect the source text’s musicality
Espressioni idiomatiche e proverbi nel “Nibelungenlied”: soluzioni traduttive a confronto
Idioms and proverbs often present a high level of difficulty in translation. The paper addresses the wide range of possible strategies to face this challenge, comparing six translations of the “Nibelungenlied” in three languages: German, English, and Italian. The analysis will further consider the complex issues related to the so-called “intertemporal translation”
Proceedings XXIV Congresso SIAMOC 2024
[Stories about prison, stories from prison: the internal point of view and the autoethnographic method as tools for reflecting on the ius puniendi] «Welcome to our city». This is how Jake Oppen-heimer welcomes Darrell Standing, the narrator of Il vagabondo delle stelle, who is locked up with Ed Morrell in an isolation cell in San Quentin prison, in a secret language con-sisting of brass knuckles debates on the wall. A city within the city, «a society unto it-self» – as Salvatore Curatolo writes in his Ergastolo ostativo. Percorsi e strategie di soprav-vivenza – the prison becomes the subject of the stories of those who live there or imag-ine living there.
The aim of this contribution is to understand whether the story about prison and the story from prison can be considered fruitful tools for analysing the contemporary ius pu-niendi. In particular, we will examine whether it is possible to use Hart’s internal point of view and the autoethnographic method for a better understanding of prison reality
