Fé e fausto na pós-inundação: devir animal, abjeção do humano em A língua submersa

[Faith and pomp in the post-flood: animal becoming, and human abjection in The Submerged Language by Manoel Herzog] This article is an exercise in transdisciplinary thinking in the field of Law and Literature, which has as its theoretical paradigm the thought of Giorgio Agamben, particularly in the book The Open. The man, the animal, the series Homo Sacer and Nudity, and as critical material Manoel Herzog’s romance The Submerged Language. This work, located within what has been called cli-fi/Anthropecene Fiction, proposes to think about the unthinkable that the earth-world must be completely different after the rise of the oceans due to the action of man. In this fiction, in which the animal becoming and the abjection of the human are consequences of legal norms by the believer/junky duality, and social distinctions allow those who enjoy privileges to search for the satisfaction of an ox hunger, revealing the arbitrary and exceptional political nature that characterizes contemporary biopolitical societies. The methodology undertaken was transdisciplinarity, with bibliographic research as its procedure

WRITE. Calligraphy and Performance Art in Contemporary China. Dataset

    No full text
The current dataset is associated with the Open Access publication “Calligraphy and Performance Art in Contemporary China from Blackened Writing to Gender Identity” (Italian Association for Chinese Studies. Selected Papers 5, Venezia: Cafoscarina). It collects the metadata descriptions of the main artworks/series analysed in the publication as formalised in the “WRITE digital archive”, that is the semantic web digital archive of the WRITE project (G.A. 949645). Each jsonld file contains the metadata related to the artwork(s)/series itself/themselves, its author(s), its Calli-Writing Unit(s) (CWU – artwork content unit with calligraphic features), and, if any, related exhibition(s), artwork(s), and literary work(s).The artworks/series were selected from a large number of works included in the archive as the most representative of the new forms of calligraphy emerged in the context of performance art. The dataset also includes the transcription of the two artists’ interviews cited in the publication

Molecular data on the role of supramolecular assembly and function of the mitochondrial respiratory complexes in causing hypertension in stroke events

    No full text
This dataset contains molecular research data on the role of mitochondrial dysfunction in increasing vulnerability to cerebrovascular disorders in hypertension in stroke-prone spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR-SP) fed with a high-salt stroke-permissive diet. When comparing SHR-SP strains to SHR-stroke resistant (SR) strains, the primary factor affecting the kinetic activity and SCs organisation of mitochondrial respiration is Complex I (CI) (dis)assembly in respiratory supercomplexes (SCs). In SHR-SP fed a high-salt diet, the arrangement of SCs and the leakage of substrate channelling in NADH oxidation CI-dependent were not observed under the same conditions in SHR-SR. Our findings demonstrate that the relationship of SCs with CI stability and dynamic protects against the manifestation of stroke

Dataset on ectoparasites in synanthropic rodents

The dataset includes the data of a study concerning the presence of ectoparasites in rodents captured from October 2020 to April 2023 during pest control campaigns in various Italian provinces (Bologna, Forlì-Cesena, Rimini, Ravenna, Arezzo). A total of 140 brown rats (Rattus norvegicus - 81 samples), black rats (Rattus rattus - 49 samples), and house mice (Mus musculus - 10 samples) are included

Levilactobacillus brevis CRAI from organic tomato: a novel GABA-producing strain with probiotic properties

    No full text
This dataset contains data collected within the industrial PhD project "Sviluppo di nutraceutici arricchiti in molecole bioattive a partire da scarti e sottoprodotti dell’industria alimentare mediante processi biotecnologici basati su ceppi di batteri e lieviti lattici" (Development of nutraceuticals enriched in bioactive molecules starting from waste and by-products of the food industry through biotechnological processes based on strains of lactic acid bacteria and yeasts). Lactic acid bacteria were isolated from organic tomato and tested for gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) production. The strain Levilactobacillus brevis CRAI was characterised for GABA production in basal and optimized conditions. Some probiotic properties were also assessed: antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activities, together with adhesion to intestinal epithelium

“La Coscienza di Zeno”. Memoria e Diritto come interpretazione mimetica della realtà

[“The Conscience of Zeno”, memory and law as a mimetic interpretation of reality] This paper analyses the book “La coscienza di Zeno” (1923), by Italo Svevo, comparing the autobiographical narrative of the protagonist with the interpretative characteristic of Law. The plot is led by the protagonist himself, Zeno Cosini, who, diagnosed as neurotic, transcribes his memories in a diary. The writing, however, goes beyond an objective transcription of the facts and becomes an attempt by Zeno to behave as an innocent in the face of his feelings of guilt, revealing, through self-deception, a distortion of his memory. Through mimesis, the protagonist connects isolated or disconnected events using his or her own perspective. The story, therefore, becomes subjective and leads the reader to know rather his interpretation of the facts than the description of facts themselves. The narrative process presented in the work is similar to the process carried out in the legal sphere, characterized by the interpretation of the facts of reality. Law uses the imaginative connectives of those who analyze it to reconstruct stories, making a purely neutral and objective analysis impossible, and building a narrative that transports the real facts back to discourse through mimesis. Svevo’s literary work therefore allows a critical reflection on the law in the comparison to various discourses

    Reference data for benzene-water clusters

    No full text
The dataset contains experimental fits for various benzene-water clusters. Specifically, it includes data from experimental fits of (benzene)₂-(water)₁, (benzene)₂-(water)₂, (benzene)₃-(water)₁, and (benzene)₃-(water)₂ clusters, derived using the SPFIT/SPCAT programs from rotational spectra measured in the 2–8 GHz range. For some clusters, isotopologues of the molecular complexes—either in natural abundance or under isotopic enrichment conditions—are also included. The benzene-water clusters exhibit intriguing structural features, as they represent prototypical aggregations of benzene in the presence of water molecules

The purpose of the research project “L’Organizzazione mondiale del commercio quale protagonista dello sviluppo sostenibile nel rilancio del Sistema multilaterale”, co-funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale (MAECI)), is to present and analyse the WTO as a major sustainability actor, also considering its reform efforts to promote fairness and inclusivity in the global economy, and better, more effective, management and functioning of the WTO Agreements and the WTO institutional structure. The research has been conducted constantly considering the approach and contribution of the European Union to the sustainability issues and reform process of the multilateral trading system: being the present study also addressed to Italian diplomats, the EU supranational dimension is regularly present in the works of the research team, as the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs develops its relevant activities also within the EU policies and in collaboration with the EU institutions. Special attention has been devoted to the WTO compatibility of major instruments of the European Green Deal, and to the development dimension, focusing on the African Countries through the analysis of the Piano Mattei
