Libertà fra kitsch e mise en abyme. Riflessioni a margine de L’insostenibile leggerezza dell’essere
[Freedom between kitsch and mise en abyme: Reflections on The Unbearable Lightness of Being] The Unbearable Lightness of Being is a novel that incorporates the essayistic form. This narrative element provides Kundera’s protagonists with a touchstone for interrogating the nature of freedom. The Kunderian category of kitsch functions as the conceptual space in which the fate—and the rejection—of freedom unfold. Like many contemporary individuals, Kundera’s characters, especially Tomáš, choose to abdicate the responsibility that is inextricably linked to both social and moral freedom
Plausibility is All You Need: New Film Restoration Techniques
This research investigates the philosophical and technical implications of applying generative artificial intelligence to film restoration, focusing on the notion of plausibility as a new aesthetic and epistemological paradigm. The study explores how AI-based frame interpolation models can reconstruct missing or degraded sequences in early twentieth-century films, not by recovering lost information, but by generating perceptually coherent continuities between surviving frames. In this context, authenticity no longer coincides with material originality but with the consistency of visual experience. To assess the boundaries and potential of interpolation-based restoration, we introduce a three-tier framework comprising Frame Complexity, Motion Complexity, and Damage Complexity (and an additional one Negative Frame Complexity). A case study on The Rival Sculptors (1911) demonstrates how plausibility can operate as a guiding principle for preserving cinematic experience across time and technology. By bridging aesthetic theory and computational methodology, the research suggests that AI does not simply reproduce the past but actively constructs believable futures for visual memory
Dataset on dextromethorphan as a novel pharmacological inhibitor of F1FO-ATPase
This dataset contains data from the evaluation of the inhibitory effect of dextromethorphan (DXM) on the hydrolytic and synthesis activity of mitochondrial F1FO-ATPase, isolated from porcine heart.
The aim of the research was to investigate how DXM influences the catalysis of the enzyme, investigating the kinetic mechanisms by which it is expressed in order to understand how its toxicity can impact cellular mitochondrial activity. The file "DXM_F_ATPase_Dataset.zip" contains data relating to the effect of increasing concentrations of DXM on the hydrolytic activity of F1FO-ATPase ("Titration_curve.csv"). The inhibitory mechanism was investigated through enzyme kinetic studies ("Kinetic.csv"), further exploring the dynamics by which DXM interacts with the enzyme ("Time_course.csv"). The modulation of the enzymatic redox state was considered in relation to the inhibitory effect of DXM ("Reducing_agents.csv"). The hypothesis of a possible interaction of DXM on the hydrophobic portion of the FO enzyme was confirmed by mutual exclusion studies between DXM and a known inhibitor of the enzymatic activity that binds the ideophobic portion of FO, Dicyclohexylcarbodiimide DCCD ("Mutual_exclusion.csv"). Finally, the inhibitory effect of DXM on the synthesis activity of F1FO-ATPase, specifically on the oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) process was confirmed ("OXPHOS.csv")

GC-MS Analysis of Volatile Compound Areas Across Different Dealcoholization Cycles of Wine Processed via Osmotic Distillation
This dataset shows the impact of ethanol removal on the volatile compound profile of white wine through osmotic distillation (OD) across seven dealcoholization cycles (OD6.1–OD6.7). The wine was dealcoholized at a feed flow rate of 3 L/min and a stripping solution flow rate of 6 L/min, with a process duration of 240 minutes. The first six cycles lasted 30 minutes each, while the final cycle (OD6.7) was extended to 60 minutes. The stripping solution was systematically renewed whenever the flux on the feed side reached zero, resulting in five renewals of the stripping solution tank with distilled water, consuming a total of 12 kg of water. The volatile profile of the dealcoholized wines was analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) coupled with solid-phase microextraction (SPME). This provides insights into the changes in the volatile composition of white wine due to the ethanol removal process and highlights the influence of multiple dealcoholization cycles on wine's aroma profile

The experimental data contains raw spectra as well as polished spectra with the background subtracted. The computational data contains input and output files of the electronic structure calculations of the valence, core-ionized and core-excited manifolds of the three samples
Data relative to histology analyses from the publication "Perfusion-based ex vivo culture of frozen ovarian cancer tissues with preserved tumor microenvironment”
Ovarian cancer (OC) poses significant treatment challenges due to late-stage diagnosis and a complex tumor microenvironment contributing to therapy resistance. We here deposited the data which allowed optimization of a U-CUP perfusion-based bioreactor method to culture patient-derived primary and metastatic OC specimens, demonstrating that perfusion better preserves cancer cell viability and proliferation, both when fresh and slow-frozen tissues were used. Specifically, histology analyses include: hematoxylin/eosin staining, PAX8 immunohistochemistry, Ki67/ECad immunofluorescence, αSMA/CD31 immunofluorescence, CD45 immunohistochemistry, D2-40 immunohistochemistr
