L’analisi del fenomeno dell’impact investing è stata condotta ponendo grande attenzione al problema definitorio e terminologico, analizzando le differenti teorie predominanti e le caratteristiche che definiscono questa strategia di investimento, oltre al suo collocamento rispetto al più ampio mercato della finanza sostenibile.

Should I wait or should I go? Travelling versus waiting for better healthcare
Get PDFWe study patient mobility in the Italian National Health System, using patient-episode level data on elective Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty procedures over the years 2008-2011. We examine how patients’ choice of the hospital is affected by changes in waiting times and clinical quality within hospitals over time. We estimate mixed-logit specifications and show the importance of jointly controlling for time-invariant and time varying clinical quality to identify the effect of waiting times. Conversely, failure to capture variations in clinical quality over time does not affect the estimate of the discouraging effect of travel distance. We provide evidence that patients are responsive to changes in waiting times and clinical quality: average demand elasticity with respect to own waiting times and mortality is estimated to be – 0.17 and – 1.38, respectively. Patients’ personal characteristics significantly influence how they trade off distance and waiting times with quality of care. We find a higher Willigness-To-Wait and Willingness-to-Travel to seek higher quality care for patients in the younger age groups and who are more severely ill. The results convey important policy implications for highly regulated healthcare markets
Database postharvest chard rocket trial
Get PDFThis dataset contains experimental data to evaluate the physiological and quality changes of fresh-cut red chard (Beta vulgaris) and rocket (Diplotaxis tenuifolia) leaves illuminated during storage with monochromatic light emitting diode (LED) lamps, featuring different spectral component (red, green, yellow, white, blue and far-red) and same light intensity (35 μmol m−2 s-1). In particular, the dataset contains biomass, colorimetric and microbiological data determined up to 10 days of storage at 5 °C. Gendering Logistics. Feminist approaches for the Analysis of Supply-Chain Capitalism
Get PDFThis collection of essays seeks to intervene in the lively discussions about logistical capitalism within and beyond academia, by unearthing the multiple ways in which gender underwrites global circulation. The essays gathered here build on a wide array of feminist and post-colonial works from a range of disciplines, adding to the already existing wealth of analyses that discuss the complex imbrications of processes of gendering and racialization within projects of accumulation on a global scale and across different temporalities. Crucially, we contend that addressing these issues through an explicitly logistical gaze does not amount merely to a reformulation of the insights of these important bodies of work, but rather it is the result of the political urgency to name and counteract the specific mechanisms through which contemporary capitalism shapes our lives and extracts from them.
This e-book thus provides a range of interventions which, however diverse, all place gender at the core of a critical analysis of global flows and mechanisms of extraction. Across these chapters readers will find interrogations of the role of pre-existing taxonomies of gender, often in their articulations to those of race, in sustaining and compounding logistical circulation, as well as examples of the ways in which these are reworked – or even created anew – by the imperative of connectivity. We contend that it is by observing these complex and at times awkward intersections that we can start sketching an opposition to the violence enshrined in the pursuit of seamless flows

The main reason is Italian culture’s diversity in terms of local traditions, resources, languages, attitudes, values. In many ways, Italy looks more like a “community of communities” than a homogeneous culture. In this contribution we try to identify some of those social and cultural elements that, more than others, seem to have significantly influenced the way Italian companies are organized and managed. Specifically, we focus on three important aspects: the role of the central State in the historical development of the Italian economy, the wide diffusion of family-owned and family-managed enterprises, and the economic relevance of the “territory”, that is, the geographical proximity of firms and their reference to local communities
