No full textA mini review of the topic of deformation bands is presented in the paper. The concept of deformation bands is defined and their impact on the flow of fluids in porous sedimentary rocks is determined. Deformation bands are mm-thick low-displacement deformation zones which have intensified cohesion and lower permeability compared with ordinary fractures. This term was introduced in 1968 in material science, ten years later it appeared in the geological context. This microstructures can occur as barriers or migration pathways for hydrocarbons. Their role depends mainly on microstructural features, and they are also considered in reservoir modeling. The occurrence of deformation bands in Poland is also outlined and discussed - they have been described in Western Outer Carpathians (Magura and Silesia nappes).Krakówwersja wydawnicz

No full textThe article presents experimental work on the anisotropy aspects of the mechanical properties of WE43 alloy and technically pure magnesium (99.95%) obtained by hot extrusion. The experimental work includes structural and phase characterisation of as-extruded materials and uniaxial compression tests conducted parallel and perpendicular to the extrusion direction. Complementary studies of the macrotexture of materials before and after plastic deformation were carried out. Based on received results the degree of anisotropy of the mechanical properties of the tested materials was determined. The texture was identified as an important factor determining the activation of particular deformation mode of the materials after extrusion. Prace eksperymentalne obejmowały charakterystykę strukturalną i fazową materiałów w stanie wyjściowym oraz próby jednoosiowego ściskania prowadzone równolegle lub prostopadle do kierunku wyciskania. Komplementarnie przeprowadzono badania makrotekstury materiałów w stanie wyjściowym oraz po deformacji plastycznej. Na podstawie uzyskanych wyników określono stopień anizotropii właściwości mechanicznych badanych materiałów oraz wskazano na teksturę jako ważny czynnik warunkujący sposób deformacji plastycznej materiałów po wyciskaniu.Krakówrozdziałwersja wydawnicz

No full textThe article presents an electrical model of a resistance furnace with two electrodes encompassing the generation of Joule heat. The characteristic feature of this model was the consideration of contact resistance between the electrodes and the slag. A series of analyses were conducted based on this model. Firstly, the impact of contact resistance on current flow and Joule heat generation in the furnace was assessed, demonstrating its significant importance. A separate group of analyses focused on the spatial configuration of the furnace and its interaction with the aforementioned phenomena. The impact of symmetric and asymmetric electrodes immersion was analysed. In addition to the impact on current flow, the study also demonstrated the influence on the natural convection mechanism described by the proposed measures of the spatial non-uniformity of heat generation. The research showed that symmetric electrode immersion allows for the generation of more heat in the system at a constant voltage. Asymmetric electrodes immersion causes an increase in the non-uniformity of heat generation, which translates into a higher intensity of natural convection.Krakówwersja wydawnicz

Profile stanowią próbę celową, zaś analizę formalno-treściową warstwy wizualnej przeprowadzono z autopsji w dniach 7–13 lipca 2022 r. Celem przeprowadzonych badań była identyfikacja materiałów graficznych zawierających określoną treść na profilach bibliotek i sprawdzenie, jaką funkcję pełnią. Posłużono się tu częściowo kategoryzacją dokonaną przez Lva Manovicha, którą zaprezentowano we wprowadzeniu. Tekst zawiera także próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy wizerunek przestrzeni bibliotecznej na Instagramie może być częścią strategii prowadzenia konta biblioteki uczelnianej w tym serwisie społecznościowym. W artykule zostanie przedstawiony rozwój podejścia do utrzymania ruchu w przedsiębiorstwach, wady i zalety wybranych strategii oraz wskazane zostaną przykładowe determinanty wdrożenia konkretnego programu utrzymania ruchu maszyn w firmach produkcyjnych.The increasing degree of automation and technological sophistication of machinery and equipment in recent years has caused manufacturing companies to impose increasing demands on them. Technical facilities are likely to meet them when appropriate maintenance management strategies are introduced in the organization. The purpose of the paper is to compare the effectiveness of different maintenance strategies and to identify one that can, when implemented, bring the greatest benefit to the company under specific production conditions. It shows the production, import, input and output of transformation, own consumption of power plants, combined heat and power plants, network losses and consumption in the economic sectors (industry, waste), transport (road and rail), buildings (residential and tertiary), as well as in agriculture and forestry of the following energy carriers: hard coal, crude oil and petroleum products (including gasoline, diesel, LPG), non-renewable waste, derived heat and electricity. W odpowiedzi na te sygnały miasto Kraków zorganizowało konsultacje społeczne, których celem było rozpoznanie potrzeb i obaw interesariuszy odnośnie do zagospodarowania obszaru poprzemysłowego Białe Morza. Autorzy artykułu wspierali proces przygotowania i organizacji warsztatów partycypacyjnych, które były częścią konsultacji społecznych. Głównym celem artykułu jest omówienie i analiza przebiegu procesu partycypacyjnego oraz wyników konsultacji, a także ich ocena. Pozytywne i negatywne elementy procesu zostały zidentyfikowane i podsumowane w formie analizy SWOT. Wnioski z tej analizy mogą być w przyszłości wskazówką co do projektowania procesów partycypacji miejskiej w Krakowie.In recent years, a constantly growing environmental awareness is observed, but also the development of civil society. As a response to these signals, Krakow city organized public consultations aimed at identifying the needs and concerns of stakeholders regarding the development of the White Seas post-industrial area. The paper’s authors supported the process of designing and organizing participatory workshops, which were also included in the consultations. The main aim of the paper was to discuss and analyze the course of the participatory process and the results of consultations, as well as their evaluation. Positive and negative elements of the process were identified and summarized in the SWOT analysis. No full textIn the STAR experiment at the RHIC accelerator, collisions of proton and heavy-ion beams of different energies are studied in different configurations. In a significant fraction of the proton-proton collisions, the primary protons remain intact and are scattered at very small angles. These types of collisions take place mostly by exchanging the so-called Pomerons. As a result of such collisions, different final states can be produced in the central range of pseudorapidity. In this thesis we investigate the possibility of measuring mesons and baryons in the inclusive process of central production, , in collisions recorded in the STAR experiment at the centre-of-mass energy of ~GeV. For the reconstruction of diffractively scattered protons, the Roman Pot detectors are used, while the decay products of or are registered in the central detector.W eksperymencie STAR, będącym częścią akceleratora RHIC, badane są produkty zderzeń zarówno wiązek protonów, jak i ciężkich jonów. W większości zderzeń typu proton-proton pierwotne protony przeżywają i są rozpraszane pod małymi kątami. Tego typu zderzenia odbywają się poprzez wymianę tzw. Pomeronów. Efektem tych kolizji jest produkcja różnych stanów końcowych w środkowym przedziale pseudopospieszności. W tej pracy badamy możliwość wykrycia mezonów i barionów w centralnej inkluzywnej produkcji , zachodzącej w zderzeniach o energii środka masy ~GeV, zarejestrowanych w eksperymencie STAR. Do rekonstrukcji protonów rozproszonych dyfrakcyjnie używamy tzw. detektorów Roman Pot, natomiast produkty rozpadu cząstek i są rejestrowane w detektorze centralnym.praca inżyniersk
