    [ES] Los estudios sobre sintaxis han extendido su foco de interés al discurso en las últimas décadas.El presente trabajo se acerca desde la macrosintaxis a la descripción de elementos que aseguran la contextualización del mensaje en el marco comunicativo en el que se produce. Los operadores discursivos constituyen el paradigm del sistema que acoge la referencia a esta macroestructura. Las construcciones semilibres también desarrollan contenidos procedimentales para asegurar el anclaje en la enunciación y modalidad, expresión directa de la subjetividad del hablante, o en las referencias a la estructuración informativa y argumentativa que este realiza para orientar la interpretación. Los autores se acercan desde un enfoque lingüístico-pragmático a la descripción de estas formas en español

    Strategies for teachers' knowledge management at the faculty of humanities: model of innovation and academic collaboration

    [ES] La gestión del conocimiento en la educación superior se ha consolidado como un componente estratégico para el fortalecimiento institucional y la calidad educativa. En este estudio se analiza la gestión del conocimiento docente en la Facultad de Humanidades de la Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala, identificando prácticas, retos y oportunidades desde un enfoque mixto. La investigación incluye el análisis de datos cuantitativos y cualitativos sobre las experiencias de docentes titulares e interinos, con el fin de proponer estrategias que fomenten la innovación y la colaboración académica. Los resultados permiten comprender las dinámicas institucionales y contribuyen a la formulación de un modelo para la gestión del conocimiento que responda a las necesidades actuales de la facultad.[EN] Knowledge management in higher education has become a strategic component for institutional strengthening and educational quality. This study analyzes teachers’ knowledge management at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of San Carlos of Guatemala, identifying practices, challenges, and opportunities through a mixed-methods approach. The research includes quantitative and qualitative data on the experiences of tenured and adjunct professors, with the aim of proposing strategies that foster innovation and academic collaboration. The results provide insights into institutional dynamics and contribute to the formulation of a knowledge management model that addresses the current needs of the faculty

    Antibiotics in aquaculture wastewater: is it feasible to use a photodegradation-based treatment for their removal?

    This article belongs to the Special Issue Removal of Pharmaceuticals in Water and Wastewater Treatment[EN] Aquacultures are a sector facing a huge development: farmers usually applying antibiotics to treat and/or prevent diseases. Consequently, effluents from aquaculture represent a source of antibiotics for receiving waters, where they pose a potential threat due to antimicrobial resistance (AMR) induction. This has recently become a major concern and it is expectable that regulations on antibiotics’ discharge will be established in the near future. Therefore, it is urgent to develop treatments for their removal from wastewater. Among the different possibilities, photodegradation under solar radiation may be a sustainable option. Thus, this review aims at providing a survey on photolysis and photocatalysis in view of their application for the degradation of antibiotics from aquaculture wastewater. Experimental facts, factors affecting antibiotics’ removal and employed photocatalysts were hereby addressed.     [EN] The eleventh century was a period of change in all spheres, including art. During the first decades of the century, the political center—until then headed by Córdoba—dispersed throughout the Peninsula due to the exponential multiplication of powers. This situation generated an urgent need for legitimization among the new governors, who undertook different propagandistic programs that were particularly well developed in the cultural sphere. To represent the authority of the sovereign, the renovation and construction of buildings were promoted. Many cities had become capitals of incipient kingdoms, with the consequent development of public works, such as the improvement of defensive infrastructure or the construction of congregational mosques, which identified their respective promoters through inscriptions on their façades.1 Meanwhile, in the most privileged areas of these medinas, the great palaces housing the diplomatic and courtly apparatus were installed; these formed the political nucleus of each of the new sovereign dynasties

    Semantic Decision Support for Action Forces with Risk Stratification from Estimated Physiological Strain, Cognitive-Emotional Stress and Situation Awareness

    [EN] In the life-threatening work of action forces, a decision support system (DSS) must provide a software application that should improve a mission decision maker’s capability to make decisions. This requires analysing large amounts of data and to present and visualize the best possible options available. In case of first responders, where errors in decision-making can have fatal consequences, timely identification of increased risk of physiological collapse, insufficient cognitive readiness and lack of situation awareness is mandatory. This paper therefore introduces our Semantic Decision Support System (SDSS) that can apply intelligent analytics on data from wearable biosignal sensors, to provide feedback in terms of risk stratification. It also includes a recommender engine that identifies the best next action at team management level. Its novelty lies specifically in the combination of various multimodal data streams each being equipped with assessment modules, risk stratification and recommender engines in order to finally combine various aspects of decision support that is based on psychophysiological measurement technologies. All relevant data is systematically merged into an advanced expert dashboard, providing a comprehensive platform for the continuous real-time monitoring and visualization of critical information. This capability enables the ongoing assessment of risk levels associated with a diverse group of action forces. The centralized dashboard serves as a powerful tool, enabling careful surveillance and prompt response to emerging risks across a broad spectrum of operational scenarios.S

    Validation of Wearable Biosignal Sensor-based Estimation of the Physiological Strain Index Using Gaussian Process Regression

    [EN] At physiologically intensive work or during acute exercises, early alert functions arehighly required to prevent physiological damage to human health. Wearable sensorbased monitoring of vital parameters can provide real-time measures for the quantification of a worker’s individual psychophysiological and thermal strain to define risklevels for appropriate decision support. One of the most well-recognized indices suitable for use in the workplace so far is the Physiological Strain Index (PSI; Moran et al.,1998) based on sensor data about (i) the core body temperature (CBT) as well as (ii) theheart rate (HR). Until recently, the ground truth information about CBT was particularlymeasured by cumbersome swallowing expensive gastrointestinal temperature pills. Amore comfortable strategy is to attach bioelectrical temperature sensors to the humanskin and from these data provide an estimate about the CBT. Dolson et al. (2022) provided a systematic review on distinct algorithms to predict the core body temperatureusing wearable technology. Most of these algorithms deployed Kalman filters for theprediction. Only a few algorithms incorporated individual and environmental data intotheir core body temperature prediction, despite the known impact of individual healthand situational and environmental factors on the CBT. The presented Machine Learning(ML) framework provides a comparison between a large set of Artificial Intelligence (AI)methods.     Sociodemographic Characteristics and Risk Factors Related to Hypertension Among Individuals from Huambo, Angola

    [EN] WHO estimates that around 600 million people suffer from high blood pressure which causes high costs for health systems and influences the economy of these countries. In this study, we investigate the sociodemographic characteristics and risk factors related to hypertension among individuals from Huambo, Angola. This cross-sectional study was conducted with 158 participants consulted in the Cardiology services at Hospital Geral do Huambo, between January and July 2023. A total of 67.1% of the studied patients were hypertensive. The mean age of the hypertensive (55.8±11.3) patients was higher than non-hypertensive (53.1±13.4) patients, although no significance was observed (p=0.199). Patients aged between 30 and 40 (OR=1.19, P=0493), male (OR=1.17, P=660), employees (OR=9.94, P=0935), patients consuming alcohol (OR=1.11, P=0.864), and practising physical activity (OR=1.12, P=0.742) presented a high chance of developing hypertension, while those living in urbanized areas (OR=0.78, P=0.59) and with a low educational level (OR=0.43, P=0.194), had a low chance to develop hypertension. There was no statistical significance between demographic or behavioural characteristics with hypertension (P>0.05). Regarding clinical characteristics, body mass index was statistically related to hypertension (p=0.011). Our findings show that hypertension is a major health problem for the young population of Huambo. There is an urgent need to create strategies to improve the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of hypertension, not only in Huambo but throughout the country. Further studies to understand determinants related to hypertension should be carried out among the young population in Angola.S

    Efectos del desentrenamiento en la condición física en jugadores de fútbol sala: una aproximación holística

    [ES] El fútbol sala está considerado un deporte intermitente, donde el jugador precisa realizar esfuerzos de alta intensidad (componente neuromuscular y anaeróbico) y optimizar los procesos de recuperación (componente aeróbico). Si el entrenamiento puede optimizar estas capacidades, se desconoce cómo el desentrenamiento puede afectar a las mismas. Por ello, el objetivo fue analizar los efectos de un periodo de desentrenamiento de corta duración en el rendimiento en jugadores de fútbol sala. Trece jugadores de fútbol sala (juveniles [n=7] y senior [n=6]) realizaron pre y post desentrenamiento de 2 semanas, un CMJ, un sprint de 30 metros, un 30-15 IFT y un RSA y junto con la determinación del Total Score of Athelticism (TSA). Solo el CMJ mostró una disminución significativa (p <0.05; ES = 0.80 grande) en ambos equipos tras el desentrenamiento. Adicionalmente, el equipo senior mostró una reducción significativa del sprint de 30 metros (p <0.05; ES = 1.38 grande). No se obtuvieron cambios en el TSA tras el desentrenamiento. Los efectos de un periodo de desentrenamiento de 2 semanas son dependientes de la capacidad analizada, mostrando un descenso significativo en el CMJ y la velocidad máxima, sin cambios en la resistencia intermitente, el VO2max o el TSA.S

    [ES] Este capítulo explora la influencia del liderazgo del franquiciador en las decisiones organizativas dentro de las cadenas de franquicias españolas, enfocándose en la implementación de prácticas de Responsabilidad Social Corporativa (RSC) y la gestión del riesgo empresarial. A través de un marco teórico multidimensional, se examinan cómo las características individuales del franquiciador, como el género y la generación, afectan a sus elecciones estratégicas. Como implicaciones generales se destaca el impacto global en la sostenibilidad y el valor de la red de franquicias derivado de las decisiones del liderazgo franquiciador tanto a nivel de red como a nivel de punto de venta comercial.[EN] This chapter explores the influence of franchi- sor leadership on organizational decisions within Spanish franchise chains, focusing on the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices and business risk management.     Finishing Patterns and Goalkeeper Interventions: A Notational Study of Shot Effectiveness in Europe’s Top Football Leagues

    [EN] Objectives: Women experience more saddle-related pain during cycling compared to men. However, there is a lack of research focused on the optimal saddle for this population. Therefore, the aim of this study was to analyze the most used type of saddle (i.e., women's saddles, men's saddles or unisex) and the effect of saddle type on perceived comfort in elite women road cyclists. Methods: Sixty national level road cyclists completed a questionnaire about their training characteristics, saddle use background and saddle comfort. The measures of the participants saddles were also obtained. Results: Women's saddles were chosen by the majority of participants, being more comfortable (4.2 vs. 3.8 on a 1–5 comfort scale, respectively) than men's saddles. What is more, among cyclists who had tried both saddles, 55% felt better with the women's saddle, while only 16% preferred the men's saddle. However, more experienced cyclists (i.e., higher weekly and annual training load and years of experience) used men's saddles. Also, 50% of the participants still presented pain, regardless of the type of saddle used. The type of saddle also affected the cyclist's position on the saddle (i.e., at the rear of the saddle with men's saddles) and the location of pain (i.e., higher on the ischial tuberosities with men's saddles). Conclusion: In conclusion, women's saddles are more comfortable for women road cyclists. Saddle type may also have some effect on bike-fit, as woman sit further back when using a men's saddle (i.e., increasing the effective saddle height).S
