Relationship Between School Counselor Multicultural Counseling Competence and School Counselor Consultation
Professional counseling, as represented by associations responsible for setting standards and best practices in the profession, indicates that school counselors need to be prepared to engage in practices that result in systems-wide change. According to the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision [ACES] (2023), these practices include systems-based practices, multicultural competence, and consultation. However, research reveals that school counselors are not being prepared to utilize multicultural consultation (Chowela et al., 2020), defined as a systems-based practice (Hoffman et al., 2006) in this study. The Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (2023) suggests that counseling graduate programs’ systems-based practice pedagogy be based on recommendations made by professional counseling associations. However, this requirement may result in variable systems-based practice pedagogy across school counseling programs and inconsistencies regarding the way school counselors utilize systems-based practices across schools. Therefore, in this study the researcher sought to better understand how membership to professional counseling associations, including the American Counseling Association, Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, and the American School Counselor Association impacts school counseling graduate programs’ consultation and multicultural education pedagogy and school counselors’ self-reported multicultural counseling competencies and consultation practices. A correlational research design was utilized, including three research questions, and a 64-item survey that contained a measure of school counselor self-reported multicultural counseling competencies (i.e., interval scale), SCC (i.e., ordinal scale), and demographic items
Comparative Predictive Analysis of Stock Performance in the Tech Sector
This study compares the performance of deep learning models, including Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU), and Transformer, in predicting stock prices across five companies (AAPL, CSCO, META, MSFT, and TSLA) from July 2019 to July 2023. Key findings reveal that GRU models generally exhibit the lowest Mean Absolute Error (MAE), indicating higher precision, particularly notable for CSCO with a remarkably low MAE. While LSTM models often show slightly higher MAE values, they outperform Transformer models in capturing broader trends and variance in stock prices, as evidenced by higher R-squared (R2) values. Transformer models generally exhibit higher MAE values and lower R2 values, suggesting lower predictive accuracy, especially for volatile stocks like TSLA. In conclusion, while all three types of models show promise in predicting stock prices, GRU models offer the highest precision, LSTM models capture broader trends effectively, and Transformer models may require further refinement for enhanced predictive accuracy. Financial practitioners and analysts should consider these factors when selecting models for stock price prediction and incorporate them into a broader analytical framework for informed investment decisions

A Performance-Based Exploration of Vocal Anatomy And Pedagogy: Maximizing Technical, Stylistic, and Physiological Frameworks for Superlative Vocal Technique in Artistic Function
This study investigates the influence of specific frameworks in performance and vocal pedagogy on artists\u27 capacity to enact evidence-based learning outcomes, with emphasis on vocal physiology and educator-performer relationships. Employing an experimental design, five philosophies that support capacity-building were tested across two trial settings, varying in intensity. The participant utilized narrative reasoning, diversified methods, and mentorship from specialized educators to apply frameworks. Findings indicate that, in practicing evidence-based learning and maximizing anatomic foundations of the voice, substantial developments in artistic capacity ensued. Educator-performer relationships mediate this process through reciprocal collaborations that foster capacity-building. Performers display optimal artistic capacity by effectively employing techniques facilitated by the educator, thereby signaling pedagogical success. This research informs artistic enrichment by highlighting the areas of crossover between pedagogy, physiology, and performance. Understanding these intersections enables the artist to practice innovation and lifelong learning within their creative approach and, consequently, operate at their highest capacity level
Behavioral Health Professionals’ Perception of Anxiety Disorders Amongst African American Clients
Abstract
Anxiety disorders are frequent and increasing across the United States including for ethnically diverse populations (Carter et al., 2012). There is a need for education in the community on anxiety disorders about indicators of anxiety, severity and therapeutic approaches that would be beneficial (Johnson & Coles, 2013). It is imperative to know the variation in anxiety for African Americans to aid in therapeutic resources and counseling designed for this population (Hopkins & Shook, 2017). Prior research includes more of a focus on behavioral health professionals’ perspectives in conjectural situations rather than actual clinical practice (Joy & Bartholomew, 2021; Lawrence et al., 2015). The purpose of my hermeneutical phenomenological study of nine behavioral health professionals was to gather the meaning of these professionals’ identification of anxiety disorder symptom presentation, diagnostic process, use of screenings and assessments and therapeutic lens regarding African American clients with anxiety disorders (Gadamer, 1975/2013; Heidegger, 1962/2013). The key focus of this study the interview approach to focus on the behavioral health professional’s perception of anxiety disorder presentation across socioeconomic status and gender and how their positionality influences their perception for African American clients. The results of this study have important implications for behavioral health professionals in general and at university and college counseling centers, for health and wellness outreach, and for curriculum and cultural considerations in behavioral health graduate programs. This research study will be instrumental for enhanced training on anxiety disorders for African Americans in diagnostic coursework, trainings, and for the overall provision of counseling.

Conversion of Levulinic Acid to Gamma-valerolactone Using an Iridium Nanocomposite under Mild Conditions
The synthesis of gamma-valerolactone was carried out and optimized using iridium nanoparticles (1-2 nanometers) encapsulated in halloysite. The catalyst was prepared using dimethylformamide as a reducing and stabilizing agent to encapsulate the iridium nanoparticles in halloysite nanotubes. The iridium nanocomposite was observed to be an effective heterogeneous catalyst for the conversion of levulinic acid to gamma-valerolactone. Gamma-valerolactone was obtained in high yield at 100 degrees Celcius under hydrogen at atmospheric pressure. Details of the iridium nanocomposite catalyzed synthesis of gamma-valerolactone are described
Been Here Before
Been Here Before is a collection that invites the reader to learn about a different world where magic, God, family, and the South coexist, sometimes harmoniously. The stories all occur in the same world, with recurring characters and themes. This is a way to show that each story and the characters are connected. It also allows the reader to discover what happened to some of the protagonists\u27 lives as time passed
Between Return and the Next Line
The poems in Between Return and the Next Line examine how the trauma experienced by the parents produces similar psychological consequences exhibited by their offspring. The collection is of a lyrical and narrative quality as poems ruminate on issues of identity, belonging, family dynamics, mental health, sickness, religion, passage of time, language, art, and refugee/immigrant experiences. Poems are written in a range of structures from formal to experimental (sonnet, sestina, pantoum, ghazal, haiku, concrete, hybrid, and free verse). Recurring motifs include water, ghosts, screams, echoes, reflections, photographs, and doors
