Results Brochure of the Research Training Group Urban Green Infrastructure – Training Next Generation Professionals for Integrated Urban Planning Research

    No full text
The Research Training Group Urban Green Infrastructure at the Technical University of Munich is investigat-ing new types of urban green infrastructure to improve the sustainability, resilience and quality of life of cities. The focus is on training young researchers in urban planning, urban ecology, engineering and environmental medicine. The consortium works in three research clusters on Transformation of Urban Spaces with UGI, Improving Urban Indoor and Outdoor Climate, and Sustainable Urban Stormwater Management, divided in 13 subprojects. In the first funding period until September 2026, 14 principal investigators, 14 doctoral candi-dates, a post-doctoral researcher, a coordinator and more than 20 associated researchers, Mercator fellows and visiting researchers are involved in this inter- and transdisciplinary research project

Using Four-Valued Signal Temporal Logic for Incremental Verification of Hybrid Systems

    No full text
Hybrid systems are often safety-critical and at the same time difficult to formally verify due to their mixed discrete and continuous behavior. To address this issue, we propose a novel incremental verification algorithm for hybrid systems based on online monitoring techniques and reachability analysis. To this end, we develop a four-valued semantics for signal temporal logic that allows us to distinguish two types of uncertainty: one arising from set-based evaluation and another one from the incremental nature of our algorithm. Using these semantics to continuously update the verification verdict, our verification algorithm is the first to run alongside the reachability analysis of the system to be verified. This makes it possible to stop the reachability analysis as soon as we obtain a conclusive verdict. We demonstrate the usefulness of our novel approach by several experiments

Quality of life following liposuction for lipoedema - a prospective outcome study

    No full text
Lipoedema is a progressive fat distribution disorder that occurs almost in women. Considering the encouraging results obtained in this unique study, patients suffering from lipoedema will clearly benefit from liposuction and their quality of life improves significantly
