Intraday Return and Volatility Structures in Borsa Istanbul and the Impact of Opening and Closing Call Auction Sessions
No full textIn this study, intraday return and volatility structures are researched in Borsa Istanbul using 102 shares in different indexes while focusing on the period between November 1, 2006 – May 31, 2012 by using 15-minute returns. Additionally, the effect of opening and closing call sessions, implemented on February 2nd, 2007 and March 3rd, 2012 respectively to reduce extraordinary price movement and ensure more effective price formation, on these structures are analyzed. For this purpose, the difference in the average and standard deviation of the 15-minute returns in the period before and after the implementation of call sessions are tested. Due to two separate trading sessions, the intraday return structure fits the double “U” form, the volatility structure fits the “L” form and both are consistent with the literature. Implementation of opening and closing call sessions significantly affected the structure of return and volatility at the opening time of the first session and closing time of the second session. Implementation of opening call session significantly decreased average return meanwhile increased volatility during the opening time of the first session. Implementation of closing call session significantly decreased the average return in the closing time of the second session and the volatility in the opening time of the first session

No full text<p><span>Si bien es cierto que el primer hito histórico en materia de accidentes de trabajo lo marcó la aprobación de la Ley de Accidentes de Trabajo de 1900 –en adelante LAT- ya existían normas mucho más antiguas que regulaban ciertas condiciones de trabajo; así pues, las Actas Catedralicias de León del siglo XI, por ejemplo, establecían medidas preventivas en materia de seguridad en el trabajo durante la construcción de templos y catedrales</span><a title="" href="#_ftn1" name="_ftnref1"><span><span><span>[1]</span></span></span></a><span> o las Ordenanzas Municipales establecidas para limitar los abusos de los señores sobre los braceros</span><a title="" href="#_ftn2" name="_ftnref2"><span><em><span><strong><span>[2]</span></strong></span></em></span></a><span> o la protección otorgada por los Gremios</span><a title="" href="#_ftn3" name="_ftnref3"><span><span><span>[3]</span></span></span></a><span>; dicho esto, lógicamente, se trata de normas muy antiguas y, por tanto, se puede considerar que el derecho a la seguridad e higiene en el trabajo -o salud en el trabajo- nace junto con la Revolución Industrial y los cambios que esta instaura en la sociedad, a nivel mundial, a lo largo de finales del siglo XVIII y principios del XIX.</span></p>
<p><span>La evolución histórica que se produce en España desde la aparición de la LAT hasta la actualidad pasa, como todas las normas, por diferentes estadios y se culmina con la aprobación de la Ley de Prevención de Riesgos Laborales –en adelante LPRL- en 1995 y su desarrollo normativo -que alcanza hasta nuestros días-. A lo largo de estos 120 años desde la aprobación de la LAT ha habido una importante evolución normativa que ha permitido, sin lugar a dudas, la mejora de las condiciones de trabajo de todas y cada una de las personas trabajadoras. </span></p>
<p><span><span>No podemos olvidar que el Derecho del Trabajo como disciplina nace, sin lugar a dudas, gracias a la legislación en materia de seguridad e higiene surgida durante la Revolución Industrial con la finalidad de acabar con los problemas acaecidos tras la implantación de los nuevos métodos de trabajo en las fábricas</span></span><a title="" href="#_ftn4" name="_ftnref4"><span><span><span>[4]</span></span></span></a><span><span>; tras esa primera época aparece el movimiento obrero motivado, en gran medida, por las condiciones precarias en lo que a condiciones de trabajo se refiere -fábricas insalubres y antihigiénicas, falta de ventilación, encharcadas, etcétera</span></span></p>
