Liquid-filled scintillating fiber development
<p>In the frame of the EU-funded project "FleX-RAY", an inherently flexible X-ray, imaging detector using single-photon avalanche photodiodes and inorganic scintillating fibres was developed. Silica-based scintillating liquid-filled fibers were developed for constructing the detector hardware.</p>

<li>Evaluation of splice coverings to block stray light Evaluation of splice coverings to block stray light: Different types of painting methods were applied to the splice sections of the silica-scintillating components to block stray light entering the fibers. Light levels were measured and evaluated for different lightness conditions, measured by a photon counter and high-speed oscilloscope at the fiber output. The stray light was measured when the lightness condition was darkness, ambient light, and desk lamp light. The painting methods include splice without paint, black pen marker, black acrylic paint, and black spray paint.</li>

<p><strong>RISE_DS02</strong></p>

<li>Silica Fiber Components Scintillating Signal using UV Illumination: Capillary fiber filled with scintillating liquids (BC505 and Perovskite quantum dots) exposed to UV source (LED- emitting at 275 nm) at specific positions along the fiber length. The scintillation count was then measured by the spectrometer (Ocean Optics Spectrometer-QEB1624) at the fiber output. The data files contain light power measurements which are compressed (filename "DATA - Silica Fiber Components Scintillating Signal UV Illumination.zip") and are presented in the folders named by measurement dates.</li>
<li>Silica Components_splices and setups photos: The pictures in this folder include the experimental setups for loss measurement, UV illumination tests, filling the capillary, images of splicing the liquid-filled capillary (50µm) and MMF for components, and prototypes in this work. </li>
<li>Silica Fiber Components Scintillating Signal using X-ray illumination: Capillary fiber filled with scintillating liquid (BC505) exposed to the X-ray source (Liquid-metal-jet source, 70kV, 125W). The scintillation count was then measured by the spectrometer at the fiber output. <li>Scintillating Silica Fiber_Deliverable Video_and_Conferene-paper: This archive contains a publication and video presentation of the design and fabrication of flexible, liquid-filled scintillating fibers for X-ray detection made from silica fibers and silica capillaries. The scintillating fibers were characterized using ultraviolet light exposure and we also performed an experiment demonstrating X-ray detection.</li>

Database of soil vulnerability to natural forest disturbances
<p>The data in this repository relate to evidence synthesis projects which aim to assess the impacts of different natural disturbances, such as fire and precipitation changes on forest soils. Les coutumes funéraires chez les Coptes et leurs relations avec les anciennes pratiques de la momification
Once and even today, the religious and burial customs of the Copts differ from one social class to another, even from cities to the countryside. In general, these diverse customs which are observed in food, drinks, clothes and inhumation; sometimes include certain survivals from the ancient Egyptian civilization without the actual population knowing it. We shall study details and methods of the interment, ceremonies, funerary processions and the immortalization of the memory of the defunct among the Copts, which vary according to the religious importance, age, sex, and the social class of the deceased, whether he belongs to the Priesthood of the Coptic Church, or be one of the Coptic notables or a normal person of the Coptic community.
Autrefois et même aujourd’hui, les coutumes religieuses et funéraires chez les Coptes diffèrent d’une classe sociale à une autre et même de la ville à la campagne. En général, ces diverses coutumes qui se voient dans la nourriture, les boissons, l’habillement et l’inhumation comportent parfois quelques survivances de l’ancienne civilisation égyptienne et parfois la population actuelle ne le sait pas. Ainsi, nous traiterons les détails et les méthodes de l’enterrement, des cérémonies et des cortèges funéraires, l’immortalisation du souvenir des défunts chez les Coptes qui varient selon l’importance religieuse, l’âge, le sexe et la classe sociale du défunt, qu’il soit un des symboles religieux de l’Église Copte Orthodoxe, un des notables de la société copte ou bien une personne normale de la communauté copte

ESTUDIO ARQUEOBOTÁNICO DE PREPARACIONES Y RESIDUOS. ELEMENTOS DE LA COLECCIÓN HISTOLÓGICA DE REFERENCIA DE TAXONES CULINARIOS ANDINOS
<p>Se describe el marco teórico-metodológico arqueobotánico, de base microscópica, utilizado en la construcción de referencia histológica de cultivos andinos que son utilizados como <em>taxa</em> culinarios en los recetarios tradicionales jujeños. Focalizamos en aquellas trayectorias culinarias -<em>foodways</em>- que producen modificaciones físico-químicas en los fitolitos y granos de almidón. Las prácticas tradicionales analizadas incluyen la molienda/trituración, fermentación alcohólica, el tostado y la cocción en medio líquido. Las muestras fueron obtenidas durante los trabajos etnoarqueológicos realizados en las cocinas de las cocineras tradicionales, así como en las recorridas etnobotánicas en chacras de la agricultura familiar, o en los mercados y ferias temáticas de los pueblos de la Quebrada de Humahuaca, y las ciudades de La Quiaca y San Salvador de Jujuy. Las preparaciones analizadas incluyen, en el caso del maíz, diferentes variedades de harinas, granos tostado, chilcán -postre de maíz amarillo- api y chicha morada –postre y bebida no alcohólica a base de harina de maíz morado-, mote -granos “capiosos” pelados en un medio alcalino-. Otros granos y semillas son la quínoa –en guiso y harina-, el amaranto –hervido y tostado-, los porotos andinos –hervidos, tostados y molidos- y el maní –chicha-. Entre los tubérculos, chuño de papa andino y otras variedades de las llamadas “papas del norte”, oca, papa lisa, verde y el ulluco. Todas hervidas. Las modificaciones registradas se clasificaron de acuerdo al tipo de procedimiento y taxón culinario y el tipo de microindicadores. A modo de ejemplo, se describen las modificaciones registradas en el almidón de las papas andinas hervidas. Se produce la pérdida en su forma y estructura definida. En la mayoría se modifica la Cruz de Malta y no distinguen los brazos. Las lamelas no son visibles. Y los bordes se vuelven irregulares. Se produce gelatinización y/o la aglomeración de almidón. Toda la información generada está siendo sistematizada con el fin de realizar los primeros avances para su puesta a disposición digital en repositorios. La propuesta de conformación de una base de datos digital, así como la conformación de la colección etnoarqueológica del Herbario JUA (Facultad de Ciencias Agrarias -UNJu-), vinculados al patrimonio culinario de los Andes Centro Sur, se inserta en la tendencia global a la accesibilidad de la información. La misma se encuentra en construcción y se propone contribuir en el mediano plazo al acceso abierto del conocimiento producido sobre el tema, siguiendo los criterios FAIR.</p>
