    An Efficient BCQTT-Boolean-Pattern-List-Based Algorithm with the Negative TWU Value for Mining High Utility Itemsets with Positive/Negative Utility Values and Length Constraints

    The High Utility Itemset Mining (HUIM) has been introduced to factor in both the profit and quantity of an itemset. The utility of an itemset is calculated by multiplying its profit and quantity. If the utility of an itemset is higher than the user assigned minimum threshold, then the itemset is called a High Utility Itemset (HUI). An itemset is considered a High Utility Itemset (HUI) uf uts utility value is larger than or equal to the minimum threshold set by the user. However, most of existing HUIM algorithms only consider the databases that contain items with positive profits. But in the real life situation, a supermarket may have negative profits in their database due to a promotional event. Therefore, several algorithms for mining high utility itemsets with the database hat include items with both positive and negative profits have been proposed. Among these algorithms for mining HUIs with negative item profits, the EHNL algorithm has introduced the concept of length constraints to limit the minimum length and the maximum length of the itemsets. Moreover, they have proposed a pruning strategy by using Redefined Transaction Weighted Utility (RTWU) as a upper bound. Although the calculation of the RTWU value utilizes the length constraints, but it only takes items with positive profits into account. On top of that, the EHNL algorithm requires three database scans and two sorting operations on transactions. Therefore, in this thesis, we propose a list based algorithm to search HUIs with positive/negative items profits efficiently. In our algorithm, we propose the BCQTT-list to store the infomations of the database. The BCQTT-list strategy converts the items in every transaction into boolean-patterns. By using this conversion, we can access the corresponding information about itemsets in the BCQTT-list with the bit AND operation. Furthermore, we also propose the Negative Transaction Weighted Utility (NTWU) which factors in both the items with negative profits and their counts, rather than just ignoring them. With the use of the NTWU value in the pruning steps, we can decrease the upper bound even more than by using the RTWU value. The improved pruning strategy by using NTWU can generate less number of candidates than the EHNL algorithm, and with a decreased number of candidates can help to reduce the overall processing time of the EHNL algorithm. Furthermore, we consider the sorted order of the input transactions, and propose an improved version of the list based algorithm. Our performance study results show that our proposed algorithm is more efficient than the EHNL algorithm

    A Case Study of Competitive Strategies for ST-H Auto Collision Component Manufacturer

    The purpose of this thesis is to explore how a case company can maintain its competitive advantage and future business direction in the automotive aftermarket service market, in the face of energy-saving, lightweighting, and safety trends, as well as the increasing demand for electric vehicles in the global automotive market. Through SWOT analysis and Porter's Five Forces analysis, this paper analyzes the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the case company, and proposes corresponding business strategies. The company's strengths include its unique roll-forming integrated tooling technology, diversified product line, and high-quality certified products with efficient production lines. However, limitations such as difficulties in recruiting technical personnel, concentrated R&D capabilities, challenges in expanding company size, and high tooling costs impede its development. The company's opportunities arise from the increasing demand for ultra-high-strength steel and electric vehicles, as well as the potential of the Chinese automotive market. However, threats such as intense industry competition, difficulties in recruitment, rising land prices, water and power shortages, may affect the company's sustainability. Furthermore, the Five Forces analysis shows that the case company has a strong competitive advantage in roll-forming integrated technology, product certification, and production efficiency, with robust R&D capabilities that reduce the threat of substitutes. Long-term partnerships with existing suppliers reduce the bargaining power threat. Due to unique tooling and diverse product offerings, customer bargaining power is low. The company continues to enhance its R&D capabilities and maintain competitiveness in the competitive Taiwan AM market through its brand image, technology, and efficiency advantages as it expands in size. Finally, based on the analysis results, this paper proposes multiple business strategies to ensure the company's sustainable operation

    The cognitive and emotional processes linking service employees\ue2 physical attractiveness and customer purchase: The moderating roles of emotional labor strategies

    Based on the dramaturgy theory, this study examined how physical attractiveness of service personnel increases customer purchasing behaviors and enhances perceived status through cognitive and emotional processes. In addition, the study explores whether surface acting or deep acting moderate the aforementioned indirect relationships. Data was collected from various service industries, including retailers, salons, gyms, and financial institutions, resulting in a total of 202 valid paired employee-customer responses. The results reveal the following findings: (1) Physical attractiveness positively affects customer perceptions of exceeding expectations, in turn increasing subsequent unexpected purchases and perceived status; (2) Physical attractiveness elicits customer positive emotions, which in turn enhances customer perceived status; (3) Higher levels of surface acting weaken the positive relationship between physical attractiveness and customer positive emotions, as well as attenuates the positive indirect effect of physical attractiveness on customer perceived status through positive emotions. (4) Unexpectedly, higher levels of deep acting also weaken the positive relationship between physical attractiveness and customer positive emotions, as well as attenuates the positive indirect effect of physical attractiveness on customer perceived status through positive emotions

    Occupational Calling and Learning Behaviors: Moderating Role of Perceived Diversity Climate and Mediating Effect of Employee Well-being

    In today's society, no matter what kind of profession or industry they are in, everyone needs to find the meaning of work for themselves. A sense of mission gives life purpose and adds meaning to what they do. When employees feel that their work is meaningful, they will devote themselves more to their work, and they will be more willing to take risks and learn, and improve their results. When the mission of employees is linked to the value of the company, in addition to inspiring the potential of employees, it can stimulate the growth momentum of the company. Based on Self-Determination Theory, 287 employees from private enterprises in various industries in Taiwan were selected as the research objects. The analysis results show that: (1) occupational calling has a positive relationship with employee well-being; (2) employee well-being has a positive relationship with learning behaviors; (3) employee well-being has mediating effect between occupational calling and learning behaviors; (4) perceived diversity climate does not show positive regulating effect on occupational calling and employee well-being relationship. According to the research conclusion, employees with a high sense of mission realize the meaning and value of their life through work, improve their self-ability independently, and effectively improve the inner happiness. Having a sense of happiness at work, reflects a kind of self-value affirmation of their work, and then enhance the behavior of employees' willingness to learn, so that employees can give full play to their strengths in work and constantly learn new knowledge, which is beneficial to enhance the competitiveness of enterprises. This study also provides relevant practical implications, research limitations and research advice for the company or research team to follow up the research

    An Exploration of the Business Model of Secondary Copper Foil Substrate Companies

    Secondary copper-clad laminate, commonly known as secondary copper foil substrate, refers to copper foil substrate products that do not meet standard specifications. Due to the production process, defects such as uneven thickness and uneven surface may occur, making it unable to meet high standard requirements, but it still has certain value in use. Secondary copper foil substrates are usually produced by recycling and reusing existing materials, making them more cost-effective and environmentally friendly. In some application scenarios, secondary copper foil substrates can replace traditional high-quality copper foil substrates to achieve more economical production costs. However, the drawbacks of secondary copper foil substrates should not be overlooked. Due to the potential defects in the production process, the quality of secondary copper foil substrates is relatively unstable and may not meet the requirements of some high-quality application scenarios. As the market size of secondary copper foil substrates is relatively small, there are relatively few suppliers, so quality and reputation issues should be carefully considered when purchasing. The study applies the qualitatively in-depth interview approach to explore the business mode of secondary copper foil substrates. Results show that secondary copper foil substrates are a type of copper foil substrate product with certain environmental and economic benefits. When choosing to use them, evaluations and selections should be made based on specific application scenarios and requirements to ensure product quality and stability\ue

    A Case Study of the Comprehensive Care of Prostate Disease Center in E-Da Healthcare Group: Examining Competitive Advantages and Business Strategies

    The prostate is a male-only organ. Its role is comparable to that of the ovary and uterus, which are female-specific organs. The prostate plays a very important role in male reproductive function and the urinary system. In young men, the prostate is a gland in the male reproductive system that is less prone to problems. The prostate is the size of a walnut and is located deeply in the pelvic cavity. The prostate is connected between the bladder and the external sphincter. The gland surrounds the urethra, and this part of the urethra assists the body to excrete urine and semen, and a certain component of the prostate fluid secreted by the prostate activates the sperm, and the prostate fluid provides nutrition and protection for the sperm. The function of the prostate gland is to assist in urine control. The prostate gland controls the inhibition of urine leak and effective urination by contracting and relaxing the muscles around the urethra. The prostate gland is very sensitive to male hormones, especially testosterone. As men age, the prostate gland becomes enlarged, a condition called benign prostatic hyperplasia. In some cases, cancer of the prostate may also develop, which is the most common type of cancer in men. Prostate disease accounts for a large proportion of middle-aged and elderly men, but its symptoms are often not obvious, so it is easy to delay the time to seek medical treatment. Although the prevention and treatment of prostate diseases is extremely important to the health of middle-aged and elderly men, there is currently no exclusive "prostate disease center" established in Taiwan. With the improvement of modern technology, precision surgery, such as prostate laser surgery, HIFU surgery and robotic assisted surgery (Da Vinci surgery) developed in urology and made the people recover quicker than before. However, the subspeciality in urology are quite cumbersome and diverse, it is easy to confuse and lose focus for the public. Thereby if a prostate disease center can be established, we believe that people in the country can use this center to focus more on the prevention and early diagnosis of prostate disease, and expect to increase the chance of successful treatment. And this center has many benefits, besides the effective use of resources, it can reduce medical costs by pooling resources and optimizing equipment. Additionally, the Prostate Disease Center fosters collaboration among physicians, researchers, and other medical professionals, which can lead to innovative treatments and improved patient outcomes. Finally, through the center, the public can raise awareness of prostate-related diseases and encourage men to seek early treatment and prevention. The center also provides a patient-centered experience, including personalized diagnosis and treatment plans, emotional support and patient education. In conclusion, establishing a prostate disease center to provide integrated care for patients can improve the quality of patient care, increase public awareness, facilitate collaboration and research, and optimize the use of resources. When we look through the current operation in the department of urology in Taiwan, they usually focus on the new advanced medical facility or new surgery such as prostate laser surgery, robotic surgery etc. and use them as the benchmark of the hospital. Although prostate disease is a very common and important business in urology, it has never been independent and operated as a special center. Bases on this observation through the world, we try to investigate competitive advantages and business strategies of the comprehensive care of prostate disease center in Eda healthcare group. In this center, we try to integrate the advanced image technology, cutting-edge surgical modalities and different medical subspecialities including radiology, pathology and urology. In the past, the Business Model Canvas has been a prominent tool for analyzing and evaluating innovative business models. However, to our knowledge, it has not yet been applied to the analysis of innovative medical integration centers in the healthcare system. Therefore, in this study, we attempted to use the Business Model Canvas to examine the operational efficiency of the "Prostate Disease Center" of the Eda Healthcare Group, and supplemented it with SWOT analysis to predict the competitiveness of the center against many challenges after its establishment. This may serve as a basis for future blueprint improvements and hopes to contribute to the construction and evaluation of similar centers in Taiwan and even around the world

    Unraveling the Paradox of Political Estrangement and Economic Engagement: A comparative study between Taiwan and Canada

    Since the 1950s, cross-strait relations have been characterized by fluctuating political interactions, swinging between periods of tension and reconciliation. From previous confrontations and military conflicts to the policy advocated by former President Ma Ying-jeou, known as the "1992 Consensus, One China with Respective Interpretations," which aimed to enhance intimacy, and the subsequent policy under President Tsai Ing-wen's administration that rejected the recognition of the 1992 Consensus, leading to China's unilateral closure of communication channels and its refusal to renounce the use of force to unify Taiwan. Consequently, cross-strait relations have once again reached a state of extreme tension, highlighting the enduring nature of the political conflict. However, in contrast, the development of economic and trade relations between the people on both sides of the strait has continued to thrive, seemingly unaffected by the political conflict. What accounts for this unique phenomenon? This study aims to explore the factors that enable cross-strait relations to maintain robust economic and trade activities within the existing political conflict environment. To achieve this, the comparative case of the development of relations between Canada and China, which also involves political conflicts and economic and trade exchanges, will be analyzed within the existing theoretical framework. The findings will shed light on the reasons behind the steady economic growth and trade cooperation in cross-strait relations, despite the persistent political conflicts. Additionally, this research aims to uncover the limitations of current theories in fully explaining the contradictory nature of cross-strait interactions

    Billet Surface Texture Identification Based on Deep Learning

    Billet is a steel bar and wire rod material, which is produced by cutting a bloom into multiple pieces. After cutting, each billet from the same bloom will be imprinted with the same serial number on its two cross sections by a metal stamp for quality tracking purpose. Since the roughness, metal luster, and external factors such as spray paint or chalk marks make it hard to recognize imprinted characters on a billet cross section, it is reasonable to use laser scanner and Billet ID Recognition System to upload scan data of a billet cross section and its recognition result of serial number to the database. Besides the serial number, it is also necessary to confirm single billet source for high quality products. Different billets with same serial number can be distinguished by their cross-section textures as the scratches caused by cutting and tearing make the texture unique. The single billet source tracing can be done by querying the database with scan data of a billet cross section and fetching scan data of billet cross sections with the same serial number. After comparing with billet cross-section texture features, the scan data from the database that has the most similar texture features to the queried one is the retrieval target. This paper introduces a method using content-based image retrieval (CBIR) with Siamese neural network for billet source tracing. Since neural network can work as feature extractor, Siamese neural network makes two input data use the same neural network weights to get their features and calculates the distance between their features as the similarity of two input data. TWINS, a deep learning model, is selected to be the feature extractor of billet cross-section texture to index the database. There are 70968 images included 2423 serial numbers that transformed from scan data of billet cross section. Based on known effects while scanning, query images can be created by modifying original billet cross-section images. Taking a billet cross-section image as an anchor sample and its modified one as a positive sample, then one of the other billet cross-section images with the same serial number is randomly chosen to be a negative sample. The three can be grouped as a single training data. Triplet loss function is utilized for adjusting the model to evaluate the anchor sample has a shorter distance with the positive sample while having a further distance with the negative sample. The size of training and validation dataset are 172933 and 37686. The accuracy of training and validation dataset after training are 97.8% and 94.6% respectively. The number of test data composed with 19 billet cross-section images before and after data augmentation are 306 and 5484, with an accuracy of 99.02% and 98.49% respectively. The result indicates that the trained TWINS model was effective in identifying billets based on surface texture

    Uterus Lesion Detection based on Deep Vision

    Uterine fibroid (myoma) is a relatively common condition, which is characterized by abnormal growth of muscular tumor with fibrotic tissue in the uterine tissue. Adenomyosis is a condition that can be easily confused with uterine fibroids. Clinicians typically use ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to assess the size, location, and other information related to uterine fibroids and adenomyosis. Ultrasound provides real-time imaging with lower costs and faster outputs for diagnosis. However, the quality and coverage of the images are relatively limited and operator-dependent. In contrast, MRI is a longer procedure and however offers better resolution and range of detection. Hence, this study utilizes MRI as the research data to achieve higher-quality predictive results. In a medical image, the diagnosis can vary because of such factors as image quality, physician\ue2s experience, and subjectivity. Moreover, lengthy examination of the images is required for accurate evaluation of lesion location and distribution. Therefore, this study aimed to utilize artificial intelligence (AI) to expedite the image analysis process, and consequently provide consistent and objective interpretation of the images through AI algorithms. MRI is a grayscale medical imaging technology that uses the effects of magnetic fields on molecular alignment within the human body to create contrast images of various organs and tissues. Each set of MRI slices consists of approximately 30 slices, with a slice interval of approximately 5.5mm. The brightness and grayscale values of MRI images obtained from different magnetic resonance machines can vary. This study primarily employs a model training and background removal approach to standardize MRI images from different hospitals. In this study, the datasets for the uterus, uterine fibroids, and adenomyosis were first annotated by radiologists. A total of 641 annotated images of the uterus, 762 annotated images of uterine fibroids, and 149 annotated images of adenomyosis were used for model training. The uterine fibroid dataset was adjusted for contrast and brightness values of the predicted images to enhance image recognition, and the images were retrained. The contour correction algorithm was applied to improve the quality of the predicted images for the uterus. Then, deep learning models were utilized to train models for the uterus, uterine fibroids, and adenomyosis to predict their respective positions and sizes. The training set underwent data augmentation, such as zooming, shrinking, and rotation, followed by training using the deep learning semantic segmentation model ESFPNet. The cross-entropy loss function was used. The Dice score was employed as the evaluation function. After training and algorithm-based prediction image correction, the Dice score for predicting uterine images reached 85.29%. After contour correction for the uterus, it reached 86.13%. For uterine fibroids and adenomyosis, the score was 77.72% and 68.76%, respectively. The results of this study will facilitate clinical diagnosis and therapeutic planning by the clinicians

    Analyzing Sustainable Linked Loans in Domestic Financial Institutions\uef\ubcA Case Study of M Bank

    Banking institutions' adoption of sustainable linked loans is a research topic of significant importance. Sustainable linked loans are an emerging financial tool that can provide funding for green and social projects. Banks considering taking on such loans need to take into account various factors such as project feasibility, risks, and profitability. In this research field, scholars can explore issues such as how to develop better loan standards, how to evaluate risk and profitability, and how to increase banks' sense of social responsibility. Moreover, research can be conducted from various aspects such as market structure and legal regulations to better understand how banking institutions operate and the effects of sustainable linked loans. The main purpose of this study is to search for ESG-related information domestically and abroad, including papers, journals, books, research reports, academic research, and regulations, in order to understand ESG-related regulations and development trends. The study takes the case of domestic financial institutions' undertaking of sustainable linked loans as its research object, to provide reference for subsequent financial institutions and promote the development of new financial products. Furthermore, this study proposes recommendations for promoting ESG development and sustainable linked loans for banks. The government can introduce globally applicable standards or develop clear standard specifications to establish a complete ESG evaluation mechanism and an ESG investment standard that meets international standards, and further promote corporate ESG assessment. Secondly, the establishment of ESG counseling and certification platforms, active development of sustainable linked loan products and services that are more suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises can promote the sustainable development of such businesses, while the government can also strengthen its support for small and medium-sized enterprises in sustainable development. In addition, the government should promote ESG-related knowledge, education, and advocacy, to increase public awareness of ESG issues and the importance of ESG assessment for enterprises. Finally, the government can use the progress of technological advancement to establish an ESG data center, which through cross-enterprise, cross-industry, and cross-disciplinary data analysis, can help enterprises to implement sustainable development
