    The study on the treatment of manganese, turbidity and organic matter by preoxidation and coagulation/sedimentation in raw water

    The water source for domestic use in Taiwan is mostly come from raw water in reservoirs. In the summer time, plenty of sunshine and nutrient sources in the water bodies caused the reservoirs become eutrophic and bring many problems in water purification operations. The purification plant often use the Pre-chlorination with coagulation procedure to remove organic matter and algae. In the Pre-chlorination and Post-chlorination process, chlorine reacts with Natural Organic Matters (NOMs) in the water to produce Total Trihalomethanes (TTHMs) and Haloacetic acids (HAAs) and other Disinfection by-products (DBPs), which are harmful to human and even get the risk of cancer. In recent years, Taiwan has been affected by climate change, the distribution of rainfall in time and space is extremely uneven, which cause an increasing of iron, manganese and the turbidity in raw water during the dry period, even affect the operation of the water treatment process. In this experiment, the water sample is come from raw water at Jingmian Reservoir, to investigate three oxidants, such as sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), chlorine dioxide (ClO2), potassium permanganate (KMnO4) to the oxidation efficiency of organic matter in raw water. Then combining with aluminum sulfate (Al2(SO4)3), ferric chloride (FeCl3) and polysilicate iron (PSI) coagulant to sedimentation process and filtration process and then taking the supernatant to analyze iron, manganese, Total organic carbon (TOC), and various water quality parameters to find the most suitable dosing amount, then analyzing the generation of concentration of organic matter and the DBPs. The study showed that the reducing rate by using NaOCl to organic matter in raw water is about to 11%, while manganese is 12%. In the same condition, the reducing rate by using ClO2 is only 7%, the effectiveness is less than using NaOCl, however, the rate of reducing manganese is 29%, and KMnO4 can simultaneously remove organic matter and oxide manganese ion effectively in raw water, the removal rate is reach to 18% and 71%. When it combined with aluminum sulfate, ferric chloride and PSI, these coagulants can increase the turbidity and organic removal efficiency of raw water, with the aluminum sulfate coagulant, the reducing rate can reach up to 99% and 55%. Comparing to NaOCl, using ClO2 and KMnO4 as Pre-oxidant can reduce the generation of DPBs such as TTHMs and HAAs. In this study, the dosing combination of NaOCl and aluminum sulfate can remove the turbidity, organic matter and manganese in raw water, leading to the residual of manganese, turbidity and disinfection by-products meet the quality standard of drinking water

    In the last century, with the development of traditional industries, the emission of green-house gases and the consumption of petrochemical energy not only brought convenience to life but also caused a lot of irreversible damage to the living environment of the earth. Un-der the tide of the times, sustainable energy and environmental Conservation have become serious issues that countries around the world urgently need to solve in this century. Therefore, the application of third-generation semiconductor materials is highly anti-cipated. Its operating frequency, withstand voltage capability, and thermal stability are far superior to those of currently used semiconductor materials. The introduction of third gene-ration semiconductor materials into existing industries will greatly improve the energy con-version efficiency of current power transmission and reduce the use of passive components in power conversion, providing a feasible solution for using renewable energy to generate power to achieve energy self-sufficiency and environmental protection. This thesis will conduct a series of research on the performance and reliability of p-doped enhancement-mode GaN devices under long-term high-power operation. Chapter 5 operates the component under high power for a long time, observes the electrical behavior of component performance and reliability, and designs electrical experiments to verify the results. Chapter 6 uses the special electrical measurement methods of modulating the temperature of the test piece, modulating the lateral electric field and the source suspension to verify the deterioration mechanism of the component, clarify the correct component deterioration mechanism and propose the corresponding physical model. Chapter 7 uses the defect fitting formula to numerically fit the electrical measurement data to clarify the depth and types of deep defects that capture carriers. For the first time, a novel method of correcting the defect fitting results by voltage is proposed, and the correct extraction is successful. the activation energy of defects and distinguish the types of defects. Chapter 8, the use of nitrogen-rich processes to passivate defects in aluminum gallium nitride components greatly reduces the reliability of components operating at high power for long periods

    Adopting the Technology Acceptance Model to Study the Intention of Purchasing through Mixed Reality Shopping

    The technology of visual communication is rapidly advancing. As an extension of the real world, AR uses other digital methods to give users new audiovisual perceptions. In virtual reality, images and sounds are generated by computers and inserted into digital devices. With some videos, you can view them in 360 degrees, and some experiences and games allow you to control objects in a virtual world using a hand controller. The Mixed Reality (MR) technology is a hybrid of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). The user sees the real world through a head-mounted display. User could be overlapping with reality, interacting and manipulating objects and environments in both physical and virtual worlds. Three technologies are included in XR. XR is a general term that describes a combination of VR, AR, and MR technology, as well as a term for virtual reality interlaced with augmented reality. XR technologies provides retailers with innovative ways to transform the shopping experience and capitalize on strategic opportunities. Due to the fast growth of online shopping, it is critical for academic researchers as well as retailers to understand consumer responses to these technologies. Thus, we examined the applicability of the TAM (TAM) for explaining consumer adoption intention. The study was tested using a survey of some 342 Taiwan users who had VR/AR/MR experience. The data indicated that the effects of the TAM beliefs on behavioral intention across the three settings: 1. Perceived Ease of Use 2. Perceived Usefulness 3. Adoption Intention on Consuming intention will vary with the level of MR online shopping experience

    A-1331852 induces apoptosis in human leukemia cells through the ROS/p38 MAPK/PP2A/CREB/MCL1 pathway

    BH3 mimetics show anticancer activity by inhibiting the function of anti-apoptotic BCL2 proteins. Although BH3 mimetics are designed to specifically target anti-apoptotic BCL2, BCL2L1, and MCL1, accumulating evidence has indicated that the anticancer activity of these drugs can be mediated by blocking other cell survival pathways. In this study, we investigated whether BCL2L1 inhibitor A-1331852 induced the death of human acute myeloid leukemia (AML) U937 cells through a non-BCL2L1-targeted effect. A-1331852-induced apoptosis of U937 cells was characterized by ROS generation, loss of mitochondrial membrane potential, and downregulation of MCL1. Ectopic expression of MCL1 alleviated A-1331852-induced mitochondrial membrane depolarization and cytotoxicity in U937 cells. A-1331852-induced ROS production increased p38 MAPK phosphorylation and inhibited MCL1 transcription, while scavenging ROS inhibited the A-1331852-induced effects. Abating p38 MAPK activation restored MCL1 expression in A-1331852-treated cells. A-1331852 triggered p38 MAPK/cullin3-mediated upregulation of PP2Ac\uce\ub1 expression, leading to reduced CREB phosphorylation. The results of pharmacological inhibition of CREB and chromatin immunoprecipitating assay indicated that A-1331852 reduced the occupation of CREB to MCL1 promoter and inhibited CREB-mediated MCL1 transcription. On the other hand, a similar pathway explained A-1331852-induced MCL1 downregulation and cytotoxicity in AML HL-60 cells. Co-treatment with A-1331852 and BCL2 inhibitor ABT-199 synergistically induced U937 cell death, and A-1331852 increased the cytotoxicity of ABT-199 against ABT-199-resistant U937 cells. Collectively, the data of this study suggest that A-1331852 induces apoptosis in U937 cells by inhibiting CREB-mediated MCL1 expression through the ROS/p38 MAPK/CUL3/PP2A pathway. Furthermore, our data demonstrate that the BCL2L1 inhibitor A-1331852 induces transcriptional repression of MCL1, leading to AML cell death

    Neuromarketing Research: Exploring Advertising Preferences Using Electroencephalogram-based Hyperscanning Technique

    While the pleasantness of the commercial is an important indicator of advertising effectiveness, most consumers can\ue2t express their emotions precisely. Neuromarketing research enables to better understand consumer behaviors through neuroimaging technology. There is evidence that a group of individuals watching TV shows together accompanies more emotional engagement than an individual watching alone. This research thus attempts to explore inter-brain neural synchronization of a group using a hyperscaning scenario and investigate its feasibility for estimating preference. We thus recruited 11 groups of three subjects to watch eight YouTube-placed commercials (30-150 sec) simultaneously and utilized an electroencephalogram (EEG)-based hyperscanning recording platform to measure their brain activity for the analysis. We calculated intra- and inter-brain EEG synchrony as features to predict advertising preferences of the recruited subject groups and the corresponding likeability of Youtube viewers though a multivariate regression model. Our results showed that the prediction performance gradually improved as more groups were added for inter-brain computing. This indicates the feasibility of exploring consistent neural responses of group advertising preferences using an EEG-based hyperscanning setting. Specifically, the intra- and inter-brain EEG features in different bands contributed distinctively to the estimation of group preferences and population likeability. For the best case, the regression model enabled to explain 78% and 85% variance of the EEG-preference relationship for the group and population estimation, respectively. Accordingly, this research empirically verified the potential of the hyperscanning scenario for the neuromarketing research. Such the preliminary demonstration promotes the progress about how to deploy a neuromarketing scenario to maximize advertising benefits to potential customers in our daily life

    A Study of Maurice Ravel\ue2s Valses Nobles et Sentimentales

    Maurice Ravel (1875-1937) was born during the most flourish era of French musical development in the history, whose sophisticated compositional skills have made every piece he wrote nearly perfect. The Waltz, for social purpose in the 16th century as well as for expressional function in Romantic period, revived in Ravel\ue2s Valses Nobles et Sentimentales (1911). The orchestrated transcription later, including ballet and scenario, added even more musical substances for the original piano edition. This work inherited from Viennese Waltz tradition, and also integrated compositional features of Romantic Character Pieces, with concise formal structures and exuberant harmonic vocabulary, which recreates an abundant artistry and diversity for the French valses. Besides the preface and the conclusion, there are four main chapters in the thesis. The first chapter is a brief biography of Ravel. The second chapter discusses historical background of Ravel\ue2s Valses Nobles et Sentimentales. The third chapter explains compositional features of the repertoire. Finally, the interpretational perspectives from different pianists\ue2 insights will conclude this research

    A case study on the operating model of new age bean bag agency

    The idea of the new age movement is to flaunt the rhythm and cognition that are not in sync with contemporary social culture, and it is a relatively strong insistence on self-subjectivity; because bean bags allow users to show their persistence in self-subjectivity, it is in line with the spirit of the new era. Therefore, compared with traditional sofas, agents of bean bag sofas need to have an independent vision, so that they are willing to introduce this kind of non-commercial products that are different from traditional ones; Reach the agency benefit of the agent. This study uses the case study method to explore the operation mode of a bean bag sofa agent in Taiwan, including 1) the reason for introducing the product and the setting of the brand image; 2) the marketing strategy after obtaining the product agent; 3) the purchase process; 4) Sales process; 5) Shipping process; 6) Related processes of other departments; 7) The development status of the product in the United States, Japan, and Taiwan.     What is Dionysian Pessimism in Nietzsche's Thought from the Perspective of Body and Health

    This essay aims to analyze a question Nietzsche posed in his later years to his earlier writings: what is the pessimism of the abundant, the strong? Early Nietzsche pointed out that there are two artistic instincts in human life, the Apollonian to give form, and the Dionysian to transform power. The tragic art of the ancient Greeks is a combination of the two, and it is also the result of a strong vitality. But comedy and dialectics are symptoms of the decline of artistic instinct. Both traditional philosophy and modern art are inherited from the late ancient Greece. People pursued the happiness obtained by rational knowledge and denied the position of the body in establishing concepts. In Nietzsche's view, people cannot wake up from the illusion of contempt for the body, which proves that the declining life is trapped in the net of cognition, Because people whose instincts are still healthy, driven by the magic power of Dionysus, can break through the veil of Apollo. There are three stages from illness to recovery. The long pain of illness is also the pain of pregnancy that the spirit has to endure patiently. Revaluation is a self-overcoming that occurs both physically and psychologically. Only that who explore all aspects of existence, find out the personal standards that are truly beneficial to himself, and is willing to love himself as he is, can bear the torture of giving birth to a new life and complete the creation beyond himself. If he is defeated by weariness, and longs for nothingness to escape his pain, he would be in danger of falling into romantic pessimism, in the company of the decadent. That who do not hide in the way of liberation without suffering, and that who have the courage to experience his own destruction and reconstruction like Dionysus, can understand the mystery of the return of life in rebirth. At this moment, we may have a little understanding of the pessimism of the strong, that is, to the physical and psychological qualities of the Dionysian pessimist

    A Study on Person-Organization Fit on Well-being and Intention to Stay: The Mediating Effect of Rebel Behavior and the Moderating Effect of LMXSC

    Gino (2018) has pointed out that most organizations want their employees to play a role of hidebound; stick to the rules in their careers and lives. In Chinese organizations, choosing to stick to the rules seems to be the best choice to protect yourself. However, the relevant literature is seldom expounded on this topic. This study believes that this is the main research gap at present. Based on COR's point of view, we discuss the correlation between rebel talent, organizational attractiveness and person-organizational fit, LMXSC's well-being and willingness to stay. This study will take the company's department heads and employees as the main sample sources, and there is no limit to the industry and capital amount of the company. There were 79 valid matching supervisors and 316 employees, with an effective recovery rate of 52.67%. In terms of theoretical contributions, first, it strengthens the gaps in the current research on "rebellious talents" and confirms the behavioral characteristics of "rebellious talents". 2. Expand the application of COR and "Social Comparison Theory" and strengthen the theoretical model of "Rebellious Talent". In terms of management significance, first, the higher the degree of adaptation of employees to the organization, the higher the degree of behavior of "rebellious talents". 2. The organization should encourage the behavior of "rebellious talents" such as employees' curiosity and challenging the status quo, so as to improve the existing inappropriate norms and enhance the competitiveness of the organization. 3.     Deep Reinforcement Learning for RIS-assisted Multi-UAV MU-MISO Communication Networks: Sum-Rate and Energy Efficiency Maximization

    Numerous recent works have investigated the efficacy of deep reinforcement learning (DRL) approaches to solve optimization problems due to DRL's exceptional performance in resolving dynamic environments with continuous action-state pairs. Hence, we establish a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-assisted unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in multi-user multiple-input single-output (MU-MISO) communication network that uses the DRL approach to solve the optimization problem. To characterize the agility of UAVs in serving a group of users (UEs) in a specific cluster, we consider two UAV scenarios: hovering and moving UAVs. Moreover, we present an algorithm with easy tuning and sampling efficiency, proximal policy optimization (PPO), to enhance network performance. Numerical data demonstrate the efficacy of our proposed method in optimizing UAV coordinates and network performance relative to previous baseline schemes. Given the dynamic environmental setting, the significant improvement in sum-rate and energy efficiency performance of the network demonstrates that our proposed scheme is well applicable for RIS-assisted UAVs networks
