From this new panorama, we begin this editorial celebrating and celebrating another completed edition of RDBCI as a continuous publication in 2020, linked to the Library System of a public institution and recognized worldwide. It is with this impact that we highlight that at the present time the university libraries, as they have always done and continue, are collaborating and actively participating in the construction of texts and assisting for the growth of scientific publishing and increase in scientific production at this very differentiated moment.
O novo cenário que estamos vivenciando tem nos chamado a repensar o papel da editoração científica como suporte educacional à universidade, pois, em uma sociedade organizada em torno das Tecnologias digitais e informacionais e comunicacionais, nunca esteve tão presentes neste momento de pandemia para que ela possa aprimorar e desenvolver recursos informacionais online das publicações para atender as necessidades editoriais da comunidade usuária interna e externa, visto que as bibliotecas universitárias estão cumprindo esse papel na sociedade conectada, pois são fundamentais para a produção do conhecimento científico. Desse novo panorama, damos início a este editorial comemorando e celebrando mais uma edição concluída da RDBCI como publicação contínua em 2020, vinculada ao Sistema de Bibliotecas de uma instituição pública e reconhecida mundialmente. É com este impacto que destacamos que no momento atual as bibliotecas universitárias, como sempre fizeram e continuam, estão colaborando e participando ativamente da construção de textos e auxiliando para o crescimento da editoração científica e aumento da produção científica neste momento tão diferenciado
O conhecimento sobre o software Koha no Brasil pelos professores de Biblioteconomia de cursos presenciais
Get PDFKoha is a free library management system used worldwide for all types of libraries. However, this Integrated Library System is still little known in Brazil, which may reflect the education of librarians and the students lack of familiarity with the tool, as most university libraries use paid tools. Thus, the present study aims to analyze the degree of knowledge about Koha software by teachers of the undergraduate course in Library an Information Science in Brazil. A survey was sent to teachers of library and information science courses throughout the country. Thus, it verified that 61.4% of the teachers who answered the questionnaire do not know Koha. The study confirmed the hypothesis raised in order to enable the creation of strategies for the dissemination of this software to teachers.O Koha é um sistema informatizado para gestão de bibliotecas livre utilizado em todo o mundo, por todos os tipos de bibliotecas. Entretanto, nota-se que este Sistema Integrado de Gestão de Biblioteca ainda é pouco conhecido no Brasil, podendo ser reflexo da pouca familiaridade dos alunos de biblioteconomia na vida acadêmica, na medida em que grande parte das bibliotecas universitárias brasileiras utilizam outros sistemas, principalmente os pagos. Assim, o presente estudo tem por objetivo analisar o grau de conhecimento sobre o software Koha pelos docentes do curso de graduação em Biblioteconomia no Brasil. Para tanto, utilizou-se a técnica do survey, por meio de questionário eletrônico, enviado a docentes dos cursos de biblioteconomia em todo o país. Pode-se, dessa forma, verificar que 61,4% dos professores que responderam ao questionário não conhecem o Koha. O estudo confirmou a hipótese levantada, de forma a possibilitar a criação de estratégias para a disseminação desse software aos professores
A disseminação da informação científica como garantia da legitimidade dos resultados de ensaios clínicos
Get PDFThis study aims to identify in the literature publications that portray the need to disseminate the results of clinical trials as a criterion for their transparency and validation. For that, it was used the documentary survey technique in the biomedical literature of documents that deal with transparency in clinical trial results. For the search, the descriptor “Clinical Trial” and the keyword “transparency” - ("transparency" [All Fields] AND "Clinical Trial" [All Fields]) were used. The Medical Literature Analysis and Retrievel System Online (MEDLINE) database of the National Libary of Medicine (NLM) in the United States was selected. 394 documents were recovered, possible duplicates were removed and 226 documents of interest for the research were selected. I n an integrated manner, the relationship of Information Science was established as the area that is dedicated to sharing information through the organization, communication and dissemination of science.Este estudo tem o objetivo de identificar na literatura as publicações que retratam a necessidade de disseminação dos resultados de ensaios clínicos como critério de transparência e validação destes. Para isso, utilizou-se da técnica levantamento documental na literatura biomédica de documentos que versam sobre a transparência em resultados de ensaios clínicos. Para a busca, foram utilizados o descritor “Clinical Trial” e a palavra-chave “transparency” - ("transparency"[All Fields] AND "Clinical Trial"[All Fields]). Foi selecionada a base de dados Medical Literature Analysis and Retrievel System Online (MEDLINE) da National Libary of Medicine (NLM) dos Estados Unidos. Foram recuperados 394 documentos, retiradas possíveis duplicatas e selecionados 226 documentos de interesse para a pesquisa. Get PDFThe advent of the internet provided connectivity that brought down barriers, especially in communication. Society is in a network and interaction is a major factor and, mainly, information units must be present and adapt to the digital environment. Digital marketing presents itself as a strategy for success and proposes the use of metrics to measure the organization's participation in this environment. This article aims to analyze the use of twitter from the Library System of the Federal University of Sergipe (SIBIUFS) as a digital marketing strategy. The investigation has an exploratory and descriptive character, with a qualitative and quantitative approach and the instruments used for data collection were a questionnaire structured in an electronic form, sent via email to the social network manager and a form built to analyze the media posts twitter of SIBIUFS carried out in 2018, through the application of audience and engagement metrics. Through analysis of the data collected, it was concluded that SIBIUFS 'performance in the use of digital marketing strategies in social networks is still timid and demands the creation of a policy that regulates all marketing practices implemented in the unit, and thus contribute to the increasing the degree of interaction of its users, enabling the dissemination and sharing of information, in addition to promoting the library environment.O advento da internet proporcionou a conectividade que promoveu uma queda das barreiras, principalmente na comunicação. A sociedade está em rede e a interação é fator preponderante e, principalmente, as unidades de informação devem estar presentes e se adequarem ao ambiente digital. O marketing digital se apresenta como uma estratégia para o sucesso e propõe o uso de métricas para aferir a participação da organização neste ambiente. Este artigo tem o objetivo de analisar a utilização do twitter do Sistema de Bibliotecas da Universidade Federal de Sergipe (SIBIUFS) como estratégia de marketing digital. A investigação tem caráter exploratório e descritivo, com abordagem quali-quantitativa e os instrumentos utilizados para coleta dos dados foram um questionário estruturado em formulário eletrônico, enviado através de e-mail ao gestor da rede social e um formulário construído para análise das postagens da mídia twitter do SIBIUFS realizadas no ano de 2018, através da aplicação das métricas de audiência e engajamento. Mediante análise dos dados coletados concluiu-se que a atuação do SIBIUFS na utilização de estratégias de marketing digital nas redes sociais, ainda é tímida e demanda a criação de uma politica que regulamente todas as práticas de marketing implementadas na unidade, e assim contribuir para o crescimento do grau de interação de seus usuários, possibilitar a disseminação e o compartilhamento de informações, além de promover o ambiente da biblioteca
Patrimônio documental e acervos: políticas públicas através da formação do acervo documental da Biblioteca do Museu da Companhia Paulista
Get PDFThe article studies the documental collection of the Museu da Companhia Paulista in Jundiaí and aims to identify how the formation of the documental collection took place in order to contribute to its valuation and organization as a documentary and railway heritage. It’s purpose is to identify, then, the origin of this set, the time and conditions under which it was gathered in a collection, the function and applicability of public policies in its specific case. It should be noted that the gathering of the documentary set in a collection and its historical conditions in the 1990s and 2000s reveals beyond the institution's history, the form of public management of the time. The relations established between the creation of this collection and the institutions that originated it, generate reflections on the way the patrimonial processes were managed during the privatization period.O artigo estuda o acervo documental do Museu da Companhia Paulista em Jundiaí e visa identificar como se deu a formação do acervo documental a fim de contribuir para sua valoração e organização como patrimônio documental e ferroviário. Seu propósito é identificar, então, a procedência desse conjunto, a época e as condições em que ele foi reunido num acervo, a função e a aplicabilidade das políticas públicas em seu caso específico. É preciso notar que a reunião do conjunto documental em um acervo e suas condições históricas nas décadas de 1990 e 2000, revela além da história da instituição, a forma de gestão pública da época. As relações estabelecidas entre criação desse acervo e das instituições que deram origem a ele, geram reflexões sobre o modo como foram gerenciados os processos patrimoniais no período de desestatização
Indicadores de acoplamento bibliográfico para a avaliação da proximidade teórico-metodológica em redes de genealogia acadêmica : um estudo aplicado aos descendentes bolsistas PQ de Aldo Barreto
Get PDFThis study analyzes the contribution of the Bibliographic Coupling Method to the evaluation of the intensity of transmission of the theoretical-methodological current of a researcher among his academic descendants. The universe of analysis was the set of PQ scholarship doctors supervised by Aldo Barreto, Senior PQ researcher in Information Science area. The methodological procedure gathered the set of articles published by Aldo Barreto and his PQ scholarship descendants. Next, we identified the authors cited in this research corpus and calculated the normalized rates of Bibliographic Coupling of Authors between Aldo Barreto and the descendant researchers analyzed. The most intense theoretical proximity occurred between Aldo Barreto and his advisors Maria N. González de Gomez and Regina M. Marteleto and his adviser Carlos H. M. Almeida. We observed the constancy of the influence of Pierre Bourdieu and Michel Foucault in the academic genealogy network. We concluded that the Bibliographic Coupling Method contributed to the analysis of the intensity of the transmission of scientific identity in the genealogical lineage of the group of researchers studied.Este estudo analisa a contribuição do Método de Acoplamento Bibliográfico para a avaliação da intensidade da transmissão da corrente teórico-metodológica de um pesquisador entre seus descendentes acadêmicos. Como universo de análise, utiliza o conjunto de doutores bolsistas PQ orientados por Aldo Barreto, pesquisador PQ Sênior da área de Ciência da Informação. Como procedimento metodológico, recuperou-se o conjunto de artigos publicados por Aldo Barreto e seus descendentes bolsistas PQ. A seguir, identificaram-se se os autores citados nesse corpus de pesquisa e calcularam-se os índices normalizados de Acoplamento Bibliográfico de Autores entre Aldo Barreto e os pesquisadores descendentes analisados. As proximidades teóricas mais intensas ocorreram entre Aldo Barreto e suas orientandas Maria N. González de Gomez e Regina M. Marteleto e seu orientando Carlos H. M. Almeida. Observou-se a constância da influência de Pierre Bourdieu e Michel Foucault na rede de genealogia acadêmica analisada. Conclui-se que o Acoplamento Bibliográfico de Autores contribuiu para a análise da intensidade da transmissão da identidade científica na linhagem genealógica do grupo de pesquisadores estudados
Bibliometria e ciência de dados: um exemplo de busca e análise de dados da Web of Science (WoS)
Get PDFThis practical study shows how an academic can use the techniques and tools of Bibliometry, Data Science, Network Science and Big Data to carry out a bibliographic survey of research. From the problem situation of a student who needs to do a bibliographic survey of the subjects: study of users and emotions involved in episodes of interaction with information systems, the study is developed. It seeks to answer questions such as: (i) what are the keywords that most occur and how are they related? (ii) who are the most cited authors in the study area? (iii) what are the references shared by the authors of the documents? (iv) what are the main sources of the documents? Based on the subjects, the initial bibliographic survey and consultation on Google Books Ngram Viewer, a set of terms used in the search tools was determined: “information science”, “user study”, “user experience”, “user emotion” and "User affect". These terms were used to consult scientific: Web Of Science (WoS), Scopus, PubMed and SciELO. Through the empirical analysis of 2,198 documents retrieved from WoS in the VOSviewer tool, the words network (in English) and the co-citation networks of authors, references and sources were constructed and examined. The results of the analysis of the networks facilitate the combination of elements for understanding information and knowledge of the studied area. It provides an overview of the area, as well as the exploration of specific contexts. Finally, it facilitates and directs the delimitation of research, minimizing information anxiety.Este estudo prático mostra como um estudante pode usar as técnicas e ferramentas da Bibliometria, Ciência de Dados, Ciência de Redes e Big Data para realizar o levantamento bibliográfico de pesquisas. A partir da situação problema de um estudante que necessita fazer o levantamento bibliográfico dos assuntos: estudo de usuários e emoções envolvidas em episódios de interação com sistemas de informação, o estudo é desenvolvido. Busca responder questões como: (i) quais são as palavras-chave que mais ocorrem e como estão relacionadas? (ii) quem são os autores mais citados na área de estudo? (iii) quais são as referências compartilhadas pelos autores dos documentos? (iv) quais são as principais fontes dos documentos? A partir dos assuntos, do levantamento bibliográfico inicial e de consulta no Google Books Ngram Viewer, foi determinado um conjunto de termos usados nas ferramentas de busca: “information science”, “user study”, “user experience”, “user emotion” e “user affect”. Esses termos foram usados para consultar bases de dados científicas: Web Of Science (WoS), Scopus, PubMed e SciELO. Por meio da análise de 2.198 documentos recuperados da WoS na ferramenta VOSviewer foram construídas e examinadas as redes de palavras (em Inglês) e as redes de co-citação de autores, de referências e de fontes. Os resultados da análise das redes facilita a combinação de elementos para entendimento de informações e conhecimentos da área estudada. Possibilita uma visão geral da área, bem como, a exploração de contextos específicos. Por fim, facilita e direciona a delimitação da pesquisa, minimizando a ansiedade da informação
A inovação nas bibliotecas universitárias em tempo de pandemia da região norte do Brasil
Get PDFThe new scenario that we are experiencing has called us to rethink the role of the library as an educational support to the university, because, in a society organized around Digital and Informational and Communication Technologies, it must develop informational services and products online to meet informational needs. from the internal and external user community, since the University Libraries (BU) in the connected society are fundamental for the production of scientific knowledge and also to fill the gaps of the subjects in the informational universe. This new scenario has forced the closure of libraries in Brazil at Federal Institutions of Higher Education, however, many of them have been reinventing themselves in offering information services and products online. This article is a qualitative research of a basic nature using the exploratory and descriptive method, with a bibliographic review referring to the theme of innovation in university libraries. The research result was collected on the websites of libraries in the northern region of Brazil. The survey of the data allowed a better understanding of the way in which BUs in the region of Brazil are meeting the information needs of their users in the pandemic period of COVID-19. Although some of the BUs are not developing actions aimed at training their academic community, there are still those that have been supporting academic activities through innovative attitudes in contemporary society, such as offering information services and products in a diversified way.O novo cenário que estamos vivenciando tem nos chamado a repensar o papel da biblioteca como suporte educacional à universidade, pois, em uma sociedade organizada em torno das Tecnologias Digitais e Informacionais e Comunicacionais, ela deve desenvolver serviços e produtos informacionais online para atender as necessidades informacionais da comunidade usuária interna e externa, visto que as Bibliotecas Universitárias (BU) na sociedade conectada são fundamentais para a produção do conhecimento científico e também para suprir as lacunas dos sujeitos diante do universo informacional. Este novo cenário tem obrigado o fechamento das bibliotecas no Brasil nas Instituições Federais de Ensino Superior, no entanto, muitas delas vem se reinventando no oferecimento de serviços e produtos informacionais online. Este artigo trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa de natureza básica utilizando o método exploratório e descritivo, com revisão bibliográfica referente à temática de inovação nas bibliotecas universitárias. O resultado de pesquisa foi coletado nos websites das bibliotecas da região norte do Brasil. O levantamento dos dados permitiu um melhor entendimento da forma como as BU da região do Brasil estão atendendo as necessidades informacionais de seus usuários no período de pandemia da COVID-19. Apesar de algumas das BUs não estarem desenvolvendo ações voltadas para a capacitação de sua comunidade acadêmica, ainda há aquelas que vem apoiando as atividades acadêmicas através de atitudes inovadoras na sociedade contemporânea, como a oferta de serviços e produtos informacionais de forma diversificada
Pessoa com deficiência visual e a acessibilidade à informação para mobilidade indoor
Get PDFIntrodution: Brazilian accessibility law 10,098 of 2000 establishes norms and criteria to promote accessibility for persons with disabilities. IBGE data from 2013 report that in Brazil out of a total of 146.3 million people over the age of 18, approximately 5.27 million are visually impaired people, equivalent to 3.6%. Method: Considering when information is correctly provided, it brings better mobility conditions to visually impaired, this article presents a development proposal of an electronic artifact that provides information on its mobility in any internal physical space, since it provides information on distance, depth and laterality of the environment. Results: From Information Science perspective, addressing concepts of user study, accessibility and assistive technology, the proposal addresses the challenges of accessing information and also challenges to physical access. The artifact was developed using Dosvox system which is widely used by visually impaired. The University of Brasília Central Library was the physical space chosen as the location contemplated for designing the artifact, as it already has several accessibility resources for information to visually impaired. Conclusion: The objective of providing information accessibility through the developed artifact was achieved because it guides visually impaired people in their indoor mobility.Introdução: A lei de acessibilidade 10.098 de 2000 estabelece normas e critérios para promover acessibilidade às pessoas com deficiência. Dados do censo realizado pelo IBGE em 2013 informam que do total de 146,3 milhões de pessoas acima de 18 anos, aproximadamente 5,27 milhões são pessoas com deficiência visual (PDV), o equivalente a 3,6%. Método: Considerando que a informação quando é proporcionada de maneira correta leva melhores condições de mobilidade à PDV, este artigo apresenta a proposta de desenvolvimento de artefato eletrônico que lhe proporcione informação na sua mobilidade em qualquer espaço físico interno, posto que disponibiliza informações sobre distância, profundidade e lateralidade do ambiente, sendo categorizado como um mapa auditivo. Resultados: A partir da perspectiva da Ciência da Informação, abordando conceitos de estudo de usuários, acessibilidade e tecnologia assistiva a proposta trata dos desafios de acesso à informação e também de desafios ao acesso físico. O artefato foi desenvolvido utilizando o sistema Dosvox que é amplamente utilizado por PDV. A Biblioteca Central (BCE) da Universidade de Brasília (UnB) foi o espaço físico escolhido como o local contemplado para o desenho do artefato, por já possuir diversos recursos de acessibilidade à informação para a PDV. Conclusão: O objetivo de proporcionar acessibilidade à informação por meio do artefato desenvolvido foi atingido porque orienta a PDV em sua mobilidade indoor.
Modelo baseado em Frictionless Data aplicado aos dados abertos governamentais
Get PDFThis article proposes a model based on Fricitionless Data (FD) to assist in the publication of open government data (DAGs). FD is an Open Knowledge Foundation initiative that aims to remove the "friction" in working with the data, that is, when a lot of time and resources are lost to understand and work with the data. In the scope of public institutions, the absence of standards for the publication and processing of DAGs is a common problem when it comes to opening DAGs and that the study sought to contribute by applying the model to the data set with information on the good practices performed by the Judiciary related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). According to Ordinance No. 133, the integration of the SDGs with the good practices of the Judiciary can bring several benefits such as: improvement of the search engines in the Courts' Transparency Portals, in a way associated with the SDGs; assist in measuring the efficiency of the Judiciary in achieving the SDGs, among others. The model was based on the Data Publication Workflow, a flow for publishing data available on the website of the Frictionless Data initiative and that addresses steps such as packaging, processing and publishing the data. The application of the model also used open source tools based on Frictionless Data and the results showed its feasibility for opening a set of open government data.O presente trabalho propõe um modelo baseado em Fricitionless Data (FD) para auxiliar na publicação de dados abertos governamentais (DAGs). FD é uma iniciativa da Open Knowledge Foundation, que pretende remover o "atrito" no trabalho com os dados, ou seja, quando se perde muito tempo e recursos para entender e trabalhar com o dado. No âmbito das instituições públicas, a ausência de padrões para publicação e processamento dos DAGs é problema comum quando se trata de abertura dos DAGs. O estudo procurou contribuir ao aplicar o modelo ao conjunto de dados com informações sobre as boas práticas executadas pelo Judiciário relacionadas aos Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS). Segundo a Portaria nº 133, a integração dos ODS com as boas práticas do Judiciário pode trazer diversos benefícios como: aperfeiçoamento dos mecanismos de busca nos Portais de Transparência dos Tribunais, de forma associada aos ODS; auxiliar na medição da eficiência do Poder Judiciário em atingir os ODS, entre outros. O modelo se baseou no Data Publication Workflow, um fluxo para publicação de dados disponível no site da iniciativa Frictionless Data e que aborda etapas como empacotamento, tratamento e publicação dos dados. A aplicação do modelo também utilizou ferramentas de código aberto baseados em Frictionless Data e os resultados mostraram a sua viabilidade para a abertura de um conjunto de dados abertos governamentais
