    Supplementation with Fe3O4 and ZnO nanoparticles as a strategy for agronomic bioenrichment of lettuce and cucumber

    Iron (Fe) and zinc (Zn) play a crucial role in the development of both plants and humans. In plants, the uptake and translocation of these elements to commercially important tissues depends on the application method, route, and concentration used. Therefore, supplementation with these two elements is not standardized. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of different Fe and Zn sources (ionic and nanometric) to determine the optimal application route and determine the appropriate concentration that promotes Fe and Zn bioaccumulation without inducing plant toxicity. Ionic sources of Fe and Zn (FeSO4·4H2O and ZnSO4·7H2O, respectively), and nanoparticles (NPs) of ZnO (50 and 250 ppm) and Fe3O4 (100 and 500 ppm) were applied via drenching and foliar application on lettuce and cucumber plants grown in greenhouse. Dry biomass, biochemical variables, stress indicators and Fe and Zn accumulation were quantified in leaf tissue. In cucumbers, chlorophylls, β-carotene, and yellow pigments responded favorably (p<0.01) to drenching with of 100 ppm Fe3O4 NPs. The same treatment but via foliar application significantly increased βCA activity and decreased proline, H2O2, and MDA content by 15.2%. In contrast, vitamin C increased (p<0.05) with ionic forms via drenching; however, in lettuce it increased with NPs via foliar application (p<0.05). Lettuce plants, treated with Fe3O4 NPs (500 ppm) via drenching increased chlorophyll and β-carotene content (p<0.05). ZnO and Fe3O4 NPs reduced H2O2 content by 38% and MDA by 35%, respectively, while promoting proline by 14%. RuBisCO increased with 250 ppm of ZnO NPs applied via foliar application in both crops, with the greatest increase documented in cucumber (50%). No differences were observed in Fe and Zn accumulation. However, 100 ppm of Fe3O4 NPs via drenching increased Fe content by 80%, and 250 ppm of ZnO NPs via foliar application increased Zn content by 26%, compared to the control. For lettuce, high doses of Fe3O4 NPs and ZnO NPs via foliar application increased Fe and Zn content by 26% and 45%, respectively. The foliar-applied NPs showed the greatest accumulation, without inducing toxicity. Therefore, they are a potential tool for agronomic bioenrichment of lettuce and cucumber

    [SPA] La regeneración de centros históricos se sigue enfrentando al reto de conservar el Patrimonio Cultural mientras se promueve su vitalidad económica. Este trabajo aborda los instrumentos impulsados tanto desde la iniciativa pública como desde la privada, que combinan estos dos enfoques: la preservación y la revitalización. Se han elegido dos centros históricos que no solo comparten el nombre, sino también las características físicas, territoriales y naturales. A partir de la revisión de literatura especializada, este trabajo busca analizar comparativamente los dos centros históricos y estudiar sus políticas públicas, con el fin de plantear estrategias replicables que promuevan un desarrollo económico sostenible en urbes similares, fortaleciendo la identidad cultural y la cohesión social. Se tendrán en cuenta los criterios de sostenibilidad aplicados, la activación del comercio local y las iniciativas de gestión privada que hayan complementado los planes de preservación establecidos por la municipalidad. El estudio sacará a luz acciones que hayan favorecido o perjudicado la regeneración urbana de estos dos centros históricos, con el fin de proponer, como conclusión, un modelo de regeneración integral con participación público-privada, adaptable a contextos urbanos de características semejantes. [ENG] The regeneration of historic centers continues to face the challenge of preserving Cultural Heritage while promoting economic vitality. This work addresses the tools driven by both public and private initiatives that combine these two approaches: preservation and revitalization. Two historic centers have been chosen which not only share the same name but also physical, territorial, and natural characteristics. Based on a review of specialized literature, this study seeks to comparatively analyze the two historic centers and examine their public policies in order to propose replicable strategies that promote sustainable economic development in similar urban settings, strengthening cultural identity and social cohesion. The study will take into account the applied sustainability criteria, the activation of local commerce, and private management initiatives that have complemented the preservation plans established by the municipality.     [SPA] El Concilio de Trento puso en el centro de la vida comunitaria católica al obispo. Como consecuencia, el encuentro entre el obispo y los fieles de las ciudades y villas de su diócesis supone un momento de especial interés para observar la configuración de la sociabilidad parroquial, dado que es la ocasión en la que el cuerpo se encuentra con su cabeza. Para estudiar estos encuentros se ha partido de una doble serie documental: las visitas pastorales, que se encuentran en los libros parroquiales; y la documentación municipal, que debe recoger el testimonio de la visita y de las reacciones ante la misma. Se ha escogido un marco temporal que pretende comprobar la aplicación en los primeros obispados tras el concilio (segunda mitad del siglo XVI). Con la documentación obtenida y estudiada se pueden plantear diferentes escenarios de sociabilidad, en función de si se acepta o se rechaza la figura del prelado como cabeza de la comunidad. [ENG] The Council of Trent placed the bishop at the center of Catholic community life. Consequently, the encounter between the bishop and the faithful of the cities and towns of his diocese represents a moment of special interest for observing the configuration of parish sociability, given that it is the occasion when the body meets the head. To study these encounters, we used a double documentary series: pastoral visits, found in parish records; and municipal documentation, which should capture the testimony of the visit and the reactions to it. A time frame was chosen that aims to verify the application in the first bishoprics after the Council (second half of the 16th century). With the documentation obtained and studied, different scenarios of sociability can be proposed, depending on whether the figure of the prelate as head of the community is accepted or rejected

    Soil Bacterial and Fungal Community Composition in Top- and Subsoil From Irrigated Mediterranean Orchards

    The soil microbiome, crucial for nutrient cycling and soil health, has been extensively studied in topsoil, yet the subsoil microbiome remains relatively unexamined despite its potential contributions to agroecosystem functionality. This research aimed to bridge this knowledge gap by investigating the interconnections between soil properties and the microbial communities residing in the topsoil and the subsoil of irrigated orchards under a semiarid Mediterranean climate. We collected soil samples from two depths, topsoil (0–10 cm) and subsoil (30–50 cm), noting elevated salinity levels in the topsoil due to irrigation practices. Utilizing high-throughput 16S rRNA gene and ITS1 region amplicon sequencing, we characterized the bacterial and fungal communities across these two depths. Our findings indicated that soil pH (higher in subsoil), electrical conductivity (higher in topsoil) and soil organic carbon (higher in topsoil) were the primary physicochemical drivers of microbial community composition shifts between top- and subsoil. Genera such as Rhizobium, Skermanella, Microvirga and Rubrobacter (bacteria) and Aspergillus, Gibellulopsis, Alternaria, Preussia and Monocillium (fungi) were identified as key genera more abundant in the topsoil, while MB-A2-108, Streptomyces and Bacillus (bacteria), and Mortierella, Fusarium, Necosmospora, Chaetomium and Emericellopsis (fungi), were key genera more abundant in the subsoil, associated with key studied soil properties. So they can be considered as key microorganisms contributing to soil processes in the topsoil and the subsoil. Our study gives insights about how soil bacterial and fungal communities respond differently to changes in the soil physicochemical properties across topsoil and subsoil, with salinity as important driver, reflecting the crucial need to develop a better understanding of how environmental changes impact soil properties and the microbiome throughout the soil profile

    La digitalización en el sector empresarial y administrativo representa un cambio significativo en cómo las organizaciones administran sus procesos internos y su interacción con las entidades públicas. Uno de los temas que ha recibido mayor atención recientemente es la digitalización y supervisión de los sistemas de facturación, con el propósito de asegurar la claridad, seguimiento y veracidad de las transacciones económicas. En este contexto, aparece VERIFACTU, un sistema para emitir facturas que pueden ser verificadas, cumpliendo con lo establecido en el Real Decreto 1007/2023. Este sistema se distingue por enviar, de forma voluntaria, todos los registros de facturación generados a la Agencia Estatal de Administración Tributaria (AEAT), fortaleciendo así los mecanismos para controlar y prevenir el fraude fiscal.
