A New Concept of Associations between Gut Microbiota, Immunity and Central Nervous System for the Innovative Treatment of Neurodegenerative Disorders
Nerve cell death accounts for various neurodegenerative disorders, in which altered immunity to the integrated central nervous system (CNS) might have destructive consequences. This undesirable immune response often affects the progressive neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, schizophrenia and/or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). It has been shown that commensal gut microbiota could influence the brain and/or several machineries of immune function. In other words, neurodegenerative disorders may be connected to the gut–brain–immune correlational system. The engrams in the brain could retain the information of a certain inflammation in the body which might be involved in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disorders. Tactics involving the use of probiotics and/or fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) are now evolving as the most promising and/or valuable for the modification of the gut–brain–immune axis. More deliberation of this concept and the roles of gut microbiota would lead to the development of stupendous treatments for the prevention of, and/or therapeutics for, various intractable diseases including several neurodegenerative disorders.journal articl
Disentangling sequential and concerted fragmentations of molecular polycations with covariant native frame analysis
We present results from an experimental ion imaging study into the fragmentation dynamics of 1-iodopropane and 2-iodopropane following interaction with extreme ultraviolet intense femtosecond laser pulses with a photon energy of 95 eV. Using covariance imaging analysis, a range of observed fragmentation pathways of the resulting polycations can be isolated and interrogated in detail at relatively high ion count rates (∼12 ions shot−1). By incorporating the recently developed native frames analysis approach into the three-dimensional covariance imaging procedure, contributions from three-body concerted and sequential fragmentation mechanisms can be isolated. The angular distribution of the fragment ions is much more complex than in previously reported studies for triatomic polycations, and differs substantially between the two isomeric species. With support of simple simulations of the dissociation channels of interest, detailed physical insights into the fragmentation dynamics are obtained, including how the initial dissociation step in a sequential mechanism influences rovibrational dynamics in the metastable intermediate ion and how signatures of this nuclear motion manifest in the measured signals.journal articl

Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is located in Sichuan Province. We selected 10 Jiarong Tibetan villages in Garzê as the objects to analyze the distribution characteristics of Jiarong Tibetan villages. Through the research, we were reached: 1. The topography have a great influence on the distribution of villages, 2. There are three types of roads in the village. There are clinics, activity centers, squares, schools and watchtowers inside of the villages, 3. One village was distributed in a valley basically, 4. Three types of villages were reached, and the relationship between village's type and the spatial structure of villages were analyzed.journal articl
Search for a Light Higgs Boson in Single-Photon Decays of ϒ(1) Using ϒ(2)→+−ϒ(1) Tagging Method
We search for a light Higgs boson (0) decaying into a +− or +− pair in the radiative decays of ϒ(1). The production of ϒ(1) mesons is tagged by ϒ(2)→+−ϒ(1) transitions, using 158 ×106 ϒ(2) events accumulated with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy electron-positron collider. No significant 0 signals in the mass range from the +− or +− threshold to 9.2 GeV/2 are observed. We set the upper limits at 90% credibility level (C.L.) on the product branching fractions for ϒ(1) →0 and 0 →+− varying from 3.8 ×10−6 to 1.5 ×10−4. Our results represent an approximately twofold improvement on the current world best upper limits for the ϒ(1)→0(→+−) production. For 0→+−, the upper limits on the product branching fractions for ϒ(1)→0 and 0 →+− are at the same level as the world average limits, and vary from 3.1 ×10−7 to 1.6 ×10−5. The upper limits at 90% credibility level on the Yukawa coupling ϒ(1) and mixing angle sin0 are also given.journal articl
Wet Referral:湿り感の指間参照現象の検討
To clarify the spatial characteristics of wetness perception, we conducted two experiments to determine whether wet stimuli on the index and ring fingers affect the feeling of wetness in the middle finger of one hand. In Experiment 1, we tested whether the perception of dryness on the middle finger is affected by wet or dry stimuli on the outer two fingers. In Experiment 2, we evaluated the uniformity of the wetness perceived from three fingers when the middle and the outer two fingers were presented with stimuli with different degrees of wetness. Results showed that when the index and ring fingers contacted the wet stimuli, and the middle finger contacted the dry stimulus, the dry sensation of the middle finger was weakened. A uniform sensation of wetness was perceived. In contrast, when the outer two fingers contacted the dry stimuli and the middle finger contacted the wet stimulus, the wet sensation on the middle
finger was not affected. These results suggest the phenomenon of "wet referral" exists among the fingers in one hand.journal articl
A spinal microglia population involved in remitting and relapsing neuropathic pain
Neuropathic pain is often caused by injury and diseases that affect the somatosensory system. Although pain development has been well studied, pain recovery mechanisms remain largely unknown. Here, we found that CD11c-expressing spinal microglia appear after the development of behavioral pain hypersensitivity following nerve injury. Nerve-injured mice with spinal CD11c+ microglial depletion failed to recover spontaneously from this hypersensitivity. CD11c+ microglia expressed insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF1), and interference with IGF1 signaling recapitulated the impairment in pain recovery. In pain-recovered mice, the depletion of CD11c+ microglia or the interruption of IGF1 signaling resulted in a relapse in pain hypersensitivity. Our findings reveal a mechanism for the remission and recurrence of neuropathic pain, providing potential targets for therapeutic strategies.journal articl
Arf1 facilitates mast cell proliferation via the mTORC1 pathway
Mast cells are one of major players in allergic responses. Mast cell activation via the high affinity IgE receptor (FcεRI) causes degranulation and release of de novo synthesized proinflammatory cytokines in a process that involves vesicle trafficking. Considering that the GTPase ADP-ribosylation factor 1 (Arf1) orchestrates and maintains membrane traffic and organelle structure, it seems likely that Arf1 contributes to mast cell activation. Actually, it has been reported that pharmaceutical blockade of the Arf1 pathway suppresses cytokine secretion and mast cell degranulation. However, physiological roles of Arf1 in mast cells remain elusive. Here, by using a genetic approach, we demonstrate that Arf1 is required for optimal mTORC1 activation upon IL-3 and facilitates mast cell proliferation. On the other hand, contrary to our expectation, Arf1-deficiency had little impact on FcεRI-induced degranulation nor cytokine secretion. Our findings reveal an unexpected role of Arf1 in mast cell expansion and its potential as a therapeutic target in the mast cell proliferative disorders.journal articl
