Friedrich Schneider, Christus der Meister. Oratorium in drei Teilen:Partitur
Bereits in den 1820er Jahren fasste der Dessauer Hofkapellmeister Friedrich Schneider den Plan zur Komposition einer zusammenhängenden Reihe von vier abendfüllenden Oratorien, die das Leben Jesu zum Gegenstand haben. Zwar hat Schneider seinen ursprünglichen Plan einer Tetralogie nicht realisiert, jedoch sind immerhin drei vollständige Oratorien entstanden, die eine zusammenhängende Trilogie bilden (Christus das Kind, Christus der Meister, Christus der Erlöser). Mit dieser Edition der Partitur sowie der Neuedition des Klavierauszuges von "Christus der Meister" liegt erstmals das notwendige Material zur Wiederbelebung des zweiten Teils der Christus-Trilogie vor
Gott in seiner Geschichte:Vom Offenen Theismus angeregte Entwicklungslinien und Perspektiven einer relational-philosophischen Theologie
Die vorliegende Studie entfaltet eine sowohl diskursanalytisch wie systematisch fundierte Auseinandersetzung mit dem Offenen Theismus als paradigmatischer Ausdruck einer relational-freiheitstheologischen Denkbewegung. Ausgehend von der These, dass Gottes Sein wesentlich durch Beziehung, Freiheit und Zeitlichkeit bestimmt ist, wird die Genese des Offenen Theismus im Kontext des nordamerikanischen Evangelikalismus rekonstruiert und in ihren religionsphilosophischen Implikationen ausgeleuchtet.
In kritischer Abgrenzung zum klassischen Theismus und in produktiver Nähe zur Prozesstheologie entwirft die Arbeit ein Gottesbild, das sich der Dynamik trinitarischer Liebe verpflichtet weiß. Indem der Kontext deutschsprachiger Theologie einbezogen wird, lassen sich zentrale relational-freiheitstheoretische Motive vertiefen und weiterführen. Gottes Geschichte mit der Welt wird als offener Prozess wechselseitiger Freiheit lesbar – als dramatisches Kooperationsgeschehen, das sich im Bewährungsraum von Liebe, Risiko und Hoffnung auf seine eschatologische Zielperspektive zubewegt.This study offers both a discourse-analytical and systematic engagement with Open Theism as a paradigmatic expression of a relational-theological movement. Proceeding from the thesis that God's being is fundamentally constituted by relationship, freedom, and temporality, the work reconstructs the genesis of Open Theism within the context of North American Evangelicalism and elucidates its implications for the philosophy of religion. In critical distinction from classical theism and in constructive proximity to process theology, it develops a vision of God shaped by the dynamic of trinitarian love. By engaging the context of German-speaking theology, key relational and freedom-theoretical motifs are further refined and extended. God's history with the world emerges as an open process of reciprocal freedom—a dramatic cooperative event unfolding within the testing ground of love, risk, and hope toward its eschatological horizon
Improving Interoperability in Scientific Computing via MaRDI Open Interfaces
'MaRDI Open Interfaces' is a software project aimed at improving reuse and interoperability in scientific computing by alleviating the difficulties of crossing boundaries between different programming languages, such as C, Julia, or Python, in which numerical packages are usually implemented, and of switching between multiple implementations of the same mathematical problem, for example, between different solvers for time integration of differential equations. The software consists of a set of formal interface specifications for common scientific computing tasks, as well as a set of loosely coupled libraries that facilitate implementing these interfaces or adapting existing implementations for multiple programming languages and handle data marshalling automatically without sacrificing performance, enabling users to use different implementations without significant coding efforts. The software has high reuse potential, especially for the tasks such as benchmarking several solvers or when low-level access to the interface of a particular solver is not required
Integrating CT Radiomics and Clinical Features to Optimize TACE Technique Decision-Making in Hepatocellular Carcinoma
Background/Objectives: To develop a decision framework integrating computed tomography (CT) radiomics and clinical factors to guide the selection of transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) technique for optimizing treatment response in non-resectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 151 patients [33 conventional TACE (cTACE), 69 drug-eluting bead TACE (DEB-TACE), 49 degradable starch microsphere TACE (DSM-TACE)] who underwent TACE for HCC at a single tertiary center. Pre-TACE contrast-enhanced CT images were used to extract radiomic features of the TACE-treated liver tumor volume. Patient clinical and laboratory data were combined with radiomics-derived predictors in an elastic net regularized logistic regression model to identify independent factors associated with early response at 4–6 weeks post-TACE. Predicted response probabilities under each TACE technique were compared with the actual techniques performed. Results: Elastic net modeling identified three independent predictors of response: radiomic feature "Contrast" (OR = 5.80), BCLC stage B (OR = 0.92), and viral hepatitis etiology (OR = 0.74). Interaction models indicated that the relative benefit of each TACE technique depended on the identified patient-specific predictors. Model-based recommendations differed from the actual treatment selected in 66.2% of cases, suggesting potential for improved patient–technique matching. Conclusions: Integrating CT radiomics with clinical variables may help identify the optimal TACE technique for individual HCC patients. This approach holds promise for a more personalized therapy selection and improved response rates beyond standard clinical decision-making

Dieser Band präsentiert die Beiträge zum Konzeptforum "Justiznutzung", das im Februar 2025 in Münster stattgefunden hat. Das maßgeblich von Martin Dinges mitgeprägte Konzept der Justiznutzung sieht Justiz nicht als obrigkeitliches Instrument der Disziplinierung an, sondern lenkt stattdessen den Blick auf die Akteure und ihre aktive Nutzung von Gerichten als eine Form des Konfliktaustrags. Ursprünglich anhand der europäischen Frühen Neuzeit entwickelt, wird das Konzept mittlerweile auch auf andere Epochen und geographische Räume angewandt.
Die interdisziplinären Beiträge des Konzeptforums diskutieren verschiedene Wechselwirkungen zwischen Praktiken der Justiznutzung und den Rahmenbedingungen von Rechts- und Gerichtsvielfalt in unterschiedlichen historischen Kontexten. Beleuchtet werden außerdem methodische Fragen, das Verhältnis des Konzepts zu ähnlich gelagerten Begrifflichkeiten wie etwa forum shopping, sowie dessen Anschlussfähigkeit für andere Disziplinen.This volume presents the contributions to the conceptual forum "uses of justice" which took place in Münster in February 2025. The concept of uses of justice, significantly shaped by Martin Dinges, does not view the judicial system as a top-down instrument of discipline, but rather directs attention to actors and their active use of courts as a means of conflict resolution. Originally developed through the study of early modern Europe, the concept is now also being applied to other periods and geographical regions.
The interdisciplinary contributions to the conceptual forum examine the interrelationships between practices of uses of justice and legal and judicial plurality in various historical contexts. They also explore methodological questions, the relationship of the concept to related terms such as forum shopping, and its compatibility with research in other disciplines
Molecular defects in primary ciliary dyskinesia are associated with agenesis of the frontal and sphenoid paranasal sinuses and chronic rhinosinusitis
Background: Primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD; MIM 242650) is a rare genetic disorder characterized by malfunction of the motile cilia resulting in reduced mucociliary clearance of the airways. Together with recurring infections of the lower respiratory tract, chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is a hallmark symptom of PCD. Data on genotype–phenotype correlations in the upper airways are scarce. Materials and methods: We investigated the prevalence, radiologic severity, and impact on health-related quality of life (HrQoL) of CRS in 58 individuals with genetically confirmed PCD. Subgroup analysis was performed according to the predicted ultrastructural phenotype based on genetic findings. Results: Among 58 individuals harboring pathogenic variants in 22 distinct genes associated with PCD, all were diagnosed with CRS, and 47% underwent sinus surgery. A total of 36 individuals answered a German-adapted version of the 20-item Sinonasal Outcome Test (SNOT-20-GAV) with a mean score of 35.8 ± 17, indicating a remarkably reduced HrQoL. Paranasal sinus imaging of 36 individuals showed moderate-to-severe opacification with an elevated Lund–Mackay Score (LMS) of 10.2 ± 4.4. Bilateral agenesis of frontal sinus (19%) and sphenoid sinus (9.5%) was a frequent finding in individuals aged 16 years or older. Subgroup analysis for predicted ultrastructural phenotypes did not identify differences in HrQoL, extent of sinus opacification, or frequency of aplastic paranasal sinuses. Conclusion: PCD is strongly associated with CRS. The high burden of disease is indicated by decreased HrQoL. Therefore, the upper airways of PCD individuals should be evaluated and managed by ear–nose–throat (ENT) specialists. Genetically determined PCD groups with predicted abnormal versus (near) normal ultrastructure did not differ in disease severity. Further studies are needed to gain evidence-based knowledge of the phenotype and management of upper airway manifestations in PCD. In addition, individuals with agenesis of the frontal and sphenoid paranasal sinuses and chronic respiratory symptoms should be considered for a diagnostic evaluation of PCD

Jacco Pekelder erklärt, wie die beiden Länder seitdem an einer neuen Nachbarschaft gearbeitet haben. Wichtige Impulse lieferten Besuchsreisen von Spitzenpolitikern und Staatsoberhäuptern, neue Netzwerke und eine Vielzahl von Bildungsprojekten. Deutlich änderte sich auch das niederländische Deutschlandbild. Insbesondere die Beziehungen zu Nordrhein-Westfalen wurden stark intensiviert. Entscheidend für den Wandel waren allerdings das Zusammenleben in Europa, der veränderte Umgang mit dem Zweiten Weltkrieg und ein neues Selbstbild der Niederländer im Zeitalter der Globalisierung
Non-invasive stimulation reveals ventromedial prefrontal cortex function in reward prediction and reward processing
Introduction: Studies suggest an involvement of the ventromedial prefrontal cortex (vmPFC) in reward prediction and processing, with reward-based learning relying on neural activity in response to unpredicted rewards or non-rewards (reward prediction error, RPE). Here, we investigated the causal role of the vmPFC in reward prediction, processing, and RPE signaling by transiently modulating vmPFC excitability using transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS). Methods: Participants received excitatory or inhibitory tDCS of the vmPFC before completing a gambling task, in which cues signaled varying reward probabilities and symbols provided feedback on monetary gain or loss. We collected self-reported and evaluative data on reward prediction and processing. In addition, cue-locked and feedback-locked neural activity via magnetoencephalography (MEG) and pupil diameter using eye-tracking were recorded. Results: Regarding reward prediction (cue-locked analysis), vmPFC excitation (versus inhibition) resulted in increased prefrontal activation preceding loss predictions, increased pupil dilations, and tentatively more optimistic reward predictions. Regarding reward processing (feedback-locked analysis), vmPFC excitation (versus inhibition) resulted in increased pleasantness, increased vmPFC activation, especially for unpredicted gains (i.e., gain RPEs), decreased perseveration in choice behavior after negative feedback, and increased pupil dilations. Discussion: Our results support the pivotal role of the vmPFC in reward prediction and processing. Furthermore, they suggest that transient vmPFC excitation via tDCS induces a positive bias into the reward system that leads to enhanced anticipation and appraisal of positive outcomes and improves reward-based learning, as indicated by greater behavioral flexibility after losses and unpredicted outcomes, which can be seen as an improved reaction to the received feedback
