Multi Laser Volume Stereolithography, a new Freeform Fabrication Method
A new method creating 3D objects within photopolymer resin has been developed which promises quality enhancement in the field of 3D printed transparent objects. In contrast to common additive manufacturing techniques the volumetric object is not build layer by layer at the surface of the resin. Instead the object is built up within the volume of the resin. This method, called Multi Laser Volume Stereolithography (MLVS), enables hardening of the resin only at the exterior surface of an object. All focus points of six lasers are overlapped in one voxel to cure the resin. Moving this overlap area around the contour of the object hardens the outer shell of the object and leaves the inner material fluid. The method promises higher productivity and higher resolution than current layer by layer techniques. The process and its validation by experiments are presented
Untersuchung des Schädigungsverhaltens Seilbahnseilen durch Verdrehung im Betrieb
Wire ropes naturally build up torque and twist under tension or while running over sheaves. Within operation of rope drives, the twist is massaged through different rope sections and remains in specific areas, changing the ropes basic geometry. This leads to vibration, wear and a reduced rope lifetime. Former research projects could identify a relation between the dimension of twist and the rope bending cycles until failure in laboratory tests, but it was neither possible to predict the expectable amount of twist in an existing installation nor to evaluate how many rotations of a rope in operation will lead to a specific amount of twist. A funded two-years research project dealt with twist initiators, their quantitative effects and the fatiguelife of twisted ropeway-ropes. The project followed three basic topics:
• Bending tests on twisted langslay ropes generating additional lifetime factors of Feyrer’s formula
• Theoretic investigation on quantity of influences of mechanic twist initiators, using FMEA of relevant parameters. Comparison of rotation theory and measurements on existing ropeways with an innovative rotation sensorsystem.
• Rope lay length analysis by filtered magnetoin-ductive rope test signals of almost discarded haulingropes identifying the storage of twist in jigback tramways.
The results were combined to a final model allowing to predict rotation and twist storage by design parameters as well as to quantify effects on ropes lifetime.
Informing Consent: Giving Control Back to the Data Subject from a Behavioral Economics Perspective
The development of data privacy legislation in Europe and America has been highly influenced by the idea that individuals must maintain the autonomy to take decisions regarding the general purpose and uses of their personal data; an idea that has been generally instrumentalized with the mechanism of informed con-sent. Recently, both companies and researchers in the field have criticized this idea, arguing that with the new advances and technological progress, consent has lost importance due to the ubiquity of the data processing and the absence of real participation of the data subjects. This article seeks to take into account both points of view, by recognizing the importance of the autonomy of individuals to determine the destination of their personal data, but also by understanding the practical implications and the impossibilities derived from obtaining an informed consent from data subjects that are generally unfamiliar with the topic. Based on the analyses regarding the difficulties of obtaining an effective and informed consent, this contribution will examine how some of the bias and impasses stud-ied through the discipline of behavioral economics may help us to understand the current problems in relation to the way in which consent is requested and provid-ed by the data subjects. This contribution concludes by proposing alternatives that seek to overcome these biases and impasses with an easier provision of infor-mation of the data processing and the implementation of a data management and a value-oriented model, which would benefit the data subjects

Development of a modular system for universal gripping with flexible actuators
The progressive automatization and the development to fully automated production and logistic systems require innovative and plain system, that can be easily integrated in process chains. An important section of this automatization is the gripping technology which gain importance especially for warehousing, food handling and collaborative robotics. Special requirements for these gripping systems are the picking performance, the reliability and the flexibility. Present gripping systems are typically designed for a special product range and cannot be used for different products. Gripper that can handle a broader product range are relatively expensive because of their complex mechanical design. The “soft robotic” with their flexible structures provides high potentials. These grippers are also suitable for human machine cooperation, service robotic and other applications. This paper is a survey about the development of modular gipping system, which consists of elastic fluid actuators. It is designed according to the special demands of warehousing and logistic
Parameter identification using a structural mechanical model for super elastic tires
In addition to driving and tipping stability, the stress of vibration on the driver of industrial trucks are significantly influenced by the mechanical properties of the tires. The identification of these properties is of great importance both for the correct tyre selection and for carrying out dynamic vehicle simulations. Explicit load conditions and the resulting deformations, however, can only be described experimentally with the desired degree of detail. In order to analyse the mechanical behavior, structural mechanical approaches come into focus, which enable a simulative analysis of the tyre under any load conditions. This results in the possibility of a simulative identification of various parameters that define the mechanical tyre properties, which results in a minimization of the experimental effort. This paper presents a structural mechanical model based on the finite element method for superelastic tires (SE tires). In addition to describing the structure and validating the model, simulations are carried out to determine the longitudinal and lateral stiffness and damping of a common tire type
Increasing the energy efficiency of continuous conveyors for unit loads through optimized drive system selection
Optimization of their energy efficiency is an important issue. Research results at the Institute of Logistics Engineering brought to light that most energy efficiency losses occur in drive systems [LOT16]. One reason for these losses is inaccurate selection and dimensioning of the drive system. In order to close this gap and achieve overall efficiency we intend to depict an energy efficiency calculator model (EEC model) that has been worked out, verified and validated. The EEC model supports the optimized drive system selection for operation in dynamic load states and contributes to increasing the energy efficiency of material flow systems
Digitale Medien & Hochschul-Cloud: Eine vielversprechende Verbindung
Whether online courses, video-based courses, mobile applications, self- or commercial-developed web 2.0 applications, it is hard to overlook the amount of available digitalized support. Digital media, mobile devices, web applications and apps offer new opportunities to fundamentally redesign the way we think about teaching, studying and research. In this contribution an explanatory framework for the media-didactical design of teaching, learning and research scenarios is presented, which expresses the technical aspects. Afterwards different scenarios, which facilitate the use of digital media, are outlined. The variety of using practices are used as a starting point to outline a concept of a system architecture, which enables on the one hand the automatic provisioning of any desired application and on the other hand the cross-system aggregation of user data in order to facilitate this for the design of teaching and learning environments
