Auditory Stimulation for the Artistic Expression of Preschool Children
Music as an incentive for artistic creativity is one form of activity that a teacher can conduct with children in a group. This form of activity is mostly based on the listener's experience, fantasy and imagination. By listening to music, it is possible to depict what we hear and experience while listening - we can imitate sound, event, content and sounds from nature. In the theoretical part of this work, creativity is defined, which stands out as a very important trait, especially in the combination of music and art. Art expression in children, musical expression in children and the combination of these two arts are also described. In the conducted research, we wanted to find out how children respond artistically to non-visual stimuli. The research was conducted with a sample of 15 participants who expressed themselves artistically twice, the first time listening to the sounds of nature and the second time to the sound of an electric shaver. The most successful works were analyzed according to the set research questions. The analysis established that the same motifs appear in several drawings in the works. For example, the motif of a bird when visualizing a sound from nature or the motif of a razor when visualizing the sound of an electric razor. While some have a completely different motive that associates them with some event
Language Games as a Speech Stimulus for Children of Younger Kindergarten Age
Predverbalnim razdobljem smatra se vrijeme do nastanka djetetove prve smislene riječi, dok verbalno razdoblje podrazumijeva proizvodnju jezika, odnosno njegovu svakodnevnu upotrebu i razumijevanje. The development of a child's speech is a complex and crucial process, necessary for life and it enables us to communicate and understand each other. The first chapter of this paper explains the concept of speech and lists the two stages of speech according to Posokhovoj (1999): the preverbal stage and the verbal stage. The preverbal stage is considered to be the time before the child's production of the first meaningful word, while the verbal stage marks the use of a language, that is its everyday use and understanding. According to the authors Apel and Masterson (2004) the first three years of life are the most important for a child's development, which encludes the development of their speech. They are considered the foundation for achieving proper and correct verbal expressioning. Considering that the parents, the family in general, and then the educators and the child's peers are the persons with whom a child spends the most time, the second chapter points out the importance of surroundings and their role in encouraging and enabling progress in the development of a child's speech. Dramatisation games, reading picture books, storytelling, singing and role-playing of different occupations are only a few of numerous activities which require more speaking. They can be performed at home with the family, in early age educational institutions, but also in free time while spending time with children of the same age. Next, in chapter three different language games are listed. They play a significant role in the development of speech and in the enrichment of the child's vocabulary span. Games which encourage development of verbal expressioning and decrease certain speach difficulties are given as an example. Speech development can often result in problems, so the last, but not the least, chapter deals with speech difficulties that more and more children of an early pre-school age deal with, which includes language difficulties and speech disorders
Raising Awareness of Celiac Disease in Primary School Children
Although cereals are an essential part of the diet, some cereals can negatively affect on digestive system in some people. The reason for this is the existence of gluten in certain cereals. For people who have coeliac disease, gluten can be extremely harmful. Excessive stools, paleness, rash, loss of appetite and weight, and lack of interest are just some of the symptoms of coeliac disease that can occur in childhood or adulthood. To avoid these symptoms, it is necessary to consume only gluten-free foods. If people with celiac disease take gluten into their body, the intestinal villi are destroyed and the absorption of nutrients is reduced, which results in malnutrition. So, for people suffering from celiac disease, a gluten-free diet is the only cure. The aim of this graduate thesis is to introduce students to celiac disease (gluten enteropathy) and gluten as the main cause of this disease. Also, this thesis seeks to make students aware of the special nutritional needs of children with celiac disease and gluten-free diet as a form of nutrition for patients
Contemporary urban speech of young people in Slavonski Brod
Istraživanje je provedeno u svibnju i lipnju 2022. godine u četiri osnovne škole: Osnovna škola „Dragutin Tadijanović“, Osnovna škola „Ivan Goran Kovačić“, Osnovna škola Hugo Badalić i Osnovna škola „Ivana Brlić Mažuranić“. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 216 učenika sedmih i osmih razreda. Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju da mnogi mladi koriste bosanske izraze, većinom u šali s prijateljima i obitelji. Većina ih koristi engleske riječi i izraze, uglavnom s prijateljima. Srpski izrazi nisu u tolikoj mjeri zastupljeni u govoru mladih. Mladi u svome govoru koriste izraze iz videoigrica i filmova/serija. Glazba i društvene mreže također utječu na njihov govor. Mladi smatraju da trebaju više koristiti i njegovati svoj jezik. Oni svoj govor prilagođavaju određenim situacijama.Young people use specific language and speech to express their group identity and to show that they are different in certain situations and to point out their uniqueness and individuality. Differences between generations are visible in the language elements often used by different age groups. The use of slang, colloquialisms, foreign words and vulgarisms are the most prominent features of young people's language. Urban dialects are created by intertwining regional, in other words dialectal features with elements of standard language, under the influence of social factors and suppress less prestigious rural speech characteristics. Young people mainly use words and expressions from popular culture that spread through social networks, media, music and movies, they expand their vocabulary with foreign expressions to differ from the older age group. Dialectology as a branch of linguistics that studies and describes dialects and local dialects of a language, also provides many non-linguistic conclusions: about the origin of the population, about relations between the population, about conditions and way of life, about connections in cultural events. Slavonski Brod, a town on the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina, experienced numerous migrations during and after the Independence War when the number of Croat refugees from Bosnia and Herzegovina increased sharply. Residents of Bosanska Posavina who moved to Slavonski Brod brought with them their speech and language specifics and became the majority speakers of Slavonski Brod. The aim of the research is to describe the speech of young people in Slavonski Brod in 2022. The research was conducted in May and June 2022. in four primary schools: Primary School "Dragutin Tadijanović", Primary School "Ivan Goran Kovačić", Primary School Hugo Badalić and Primary School "Ivana Brlić Mažuranić". 216 seventh and eighth grade students participated in the study. The results of the research show that many young people use Bosnian expressions, mostly with friends and family and for fun. Most of them use English words and expressions, mostly with friends. Serbian expressions are not so represented in the speech of young people. Young people use expressions from video games and movies / series in their speech. Music and social networks also influence young people’s speech. Young people feel that they need to use and nurture their language more. They adapt their speech to certain situations
Educational Role of School Gardens in Primary School
Odgojno-obrazovni sadržaji školskog vrta razvijaju kod učenika sposobnost kritičkog promatranja, razumijevanja ovisnosti prirode i ljudi, razvijaju odgovornost, disciplinu i timski rad. Since the exact definition of the school garden has not been determined, it can be said that a school garden is a part of the school space to which all garden technical elements and all plant species are a part of, where students, with their teachers, participate in the planting, processing or arrangement of given plants. The purpose of this research is to investigate the educational role of school gardens in classroom teaching by qualitative research methods. Methods used in this research were interview methods, analysis of documentation, collection of photographs and development of a school garden plan. By researching the historical and contemporary overview of school gardens and the diversity of school gardens in Osijek-Baranja County, by interviewing Marija Fuderer, head of the Fuderer ornamental plant nursery in Valpovo, about suitable plant species to plant in the school garden, by presenting the project "The most beautiful school gardens in Croatia" as the source of motivation of teachers and students and by designing two school gardens, it was revealed that the maintenance of the school garden can improve the environmental awareness of students, that school gardens play an extremely important role in terms of acquiring knowledge about flora, gardening and nature protection. By participating in the work of school gardens, students have the opportunity to observe and gain knowledge about plant species on a living example; in the school garden they can perform practical work, acquire work habits, socialize and play with other students, develop love for nature and learn about the importance of organic farming of fruits and vegetables. The educational contents of the school garden help students to develop the ability to critically observe, understand the dependence of nature and people, develop responsibility, discipline and teamwork. The organization of the garden is indeed extremely important for the upbringing and education of students, but in realization of the benefits of working in the school garden, you need a brave, enthusiastic and creative teacher who will provide these values of school garden management to his students and these values are indispensable in today's world of environmentally unacceptable breeding and the dominance of modern technology
Forest Research According to the Principles of Forest Pedagogy in Preschool Age
Šumska pedagogija prilično je mlada disciplina alternativne pedagogije. Zbog užurbanog načina života, urbanizacije, klimatskih i drugih promjena u okolišu, šuma postaje poprilično važan segment ljudskih života. Šumska pedagogija ističe značaj konstruktivističkog učenja u kojem dijete aktivno, istražujući okolinu i kroz interakciju sa svijetom, konstruira znanje i razumijevanje. Forest pedagogy is quite young discipline of alternative pedagogy. Because of hectic way of life, urbanization, Climate and other changes in our environment, Is becoming pretty important segment of human life. As a child is a creature, who has there needs and interests, forest pedagogy is based on practical learning which encourages holistic child development. Forest pedagogy emphasizes the importance of constructivists learning in which child is active, Researching the environment through interaction with the world construct knowledge and understanding. Children who spend time in nature research and with versatile activities contribute development of their cognitive, emotional, motor and creative skills. Spending time in nature has a lot of advantages, which is shown by the results of many researchers, Because of that surroundings children are constantly moving and with that sing their motor skills readiness (agility, body balance, nimbleness and adroitness) they develop their cognitive skills, it increases sensibility of stress and depression, and it positively affects on the child’s mental health. The purpose of this work is to show an important and valuable aspect of forest pedagogy, but also to show the negativities of it as well. We are shown forest kindergartens in the world and in Croatia, as well as why it is important to apply and implement forest pedagogy into the educational work
Children as Collateral Damage of War on Terrorism-Bioethical Insights
This final paper deals with the topic “Children as collateral victims of the war against terrorism - bioethical insights”, considering several points of view of different authors who have investigated in detail the impact of the war against terrorism on children and the civilian population. Although we live in the 21st century, the concept of using drones for targeted killing is still unknown to people living in peacetime conditions, while in countries affected by the war on terrorism, people understand the danger they bring to the civilian population and are forced to live in uncertainty and fear. The ethical and unethical nature of targeted killings remains unclear due to the very narrow definition of the word “civilian” and incomplete statistical information. The side that uses drones in the war against terrorism is guided by the principle of protecting its soldiers and pilots and does not consider the victims of the opposite side. Children who are also victims of the war against terrorism and end up as collateral victims are automatically victims of war because they do not have normal conditions for life nor the rights prescribed by the UN
Parent's asessment of preschool children is motivation to learn english and german as foreign languages
One of the key factors of early learning and teaching of a foreign language is motivation. The aim of the paper is to determine possible differences in the strength of children's motivation in learning English and German from the perspective of parents. The paper consists of two parts: theoretical and research (empirical). The theoretical part consists of an introduction, a summary on motivation, second language acquisition and their theories, and the research part refers to the questionnaire we conducted among the respondents and the analysis of those results. It was found that children are equally highly motivated to learn regardless of language
Women at the Turn of the 20th Century
Žene tijekom druge polovice 19. i početka 20. stoljeća bitno mijenjaju percepciju sebe u društvu. Rad je objedinio žensku povijest u njezinu najsnažnijem i najdjelotvornijem vremenuWomen in the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries significantly change the perception of themselves in society. The female position changed because the women began fighting for the right to vote after the French Revolution. Movements for women’s rights, women’s suffrage extremism and commitment to social and educational changes, women have fought for their status in society. Although he was not the same as the male, there could be a significant number of women who tried and eventually managed to fight for women’s status during this period. During the reference period, several women from present-day Croatia who have advocated female law can be observed, mainly through the educational system. Some of the first Croatian teachers worked through humanity-socialized work and thus remained permanently recorded in Croatian history. The advocacy course can also accompany the work for women’s rights and the opening up of the first institutions intended for women of that age. As part of the work, feminism is also described as the social phenomenon of the late 1800 “s, which is today in various forms. The work also deals with the philosophical theme of male views on women’s historical status. The work has brought together women’s history in its most potent and efficient time
Gender Roles in Disney Animated Films
Gender roles and stereotypes, as well as gender (in)equality, are the concepts discussed in this paper with the aim of raising awareness of discrimination against women to which they lead. The paper describes the most common areas of discrimination against women, mostly the media. Given the popularity of Disney studio animated films, the paper deals with their analysis with an emphasis on gender roles and stereotypes. A review of the literature identifies changes in the portrayal of gender roles in Disney animated films over time, and considers them within the time in which the films were made, i.e. within the first, second, and third wave of feminism. Changes in the portrayal of gender roles and stereotypes in Disney animated films are associated with changes in society. The aim of this research is to analyze gender roles in selected contemporary Disney animated films, published in the period from 2019. to 2021., with a special focus on the female characters. The analysis includes children's and adult characters and their appearance, stereotypical roles, departure from the usual stereotypical representation, character activity and other elements
