    Kaskadni model rane intervencije: Prikaz slučaja

    U radu se daje prikaz uspješne koordinacije obitelji, dječjeg vrtića i pružatelja usluge edukacijske rehabilitacije u slučaju dječaka u dobi pet godina koji ima višestruke teškoće u razvoju. Inicijalni problemi uočeni su u obiteljskoj dinamici i raspodjeli odgovornosti između roditelja te nedostatnim kompetencijama odgojitelja u dječjem vrtiću što je rezultiralo negativnom disonancom u procesima ekološke tranzicije djeteta i značajno sniženom razinom djetetova funkcioniranja u odnosu na njegovu dob i potencijale. Primijenjene su intervencije na razini mikro-, mezo- i makrosustava (obitelji i odgojne skupine) što je u skladu s Bronfenbrennerovom Teorijom ekoloških sustava čovjekova razvoja. Na razini mikrosustava roditelji su educirani o primjerenim odgojnim postupcima, načinima uključivanja ostalih članova obitelji u podršku, usaglašavanju u odgojnim ciljevima i postupcima prema djetetu. Na razini mezosustava ostvarena je povezanost obitelji, dječjeg vrtića i edukacijskog rehabilitatora koji je kontinuirano savjetovao i pratio rad s djetetom tijekom osam mjeseci. U odnosu na makrosustav načinjen je individualni odgojno-obrazovni program, odgojitelje se educiralo i izravno u odgojnoj skupini mentoriralo u radu s djetetom s posebnim naglaskom na vršnjačke odnose te su uključeni i resursi iz lokalne zajednice. Edukacijsko-rehabilitacijski rad kod pružatelja usluge obuhvatio je savjetovanje roditelja i odgojitelja te individualni rad s djetetom kroz program perceptivno-motoričkih vježbi. Aktivnosti su provedene tijekom 2017., a dječak je 2019. upisao redovnu osnovnu školu. Posljednje savjetovanje provedeno s obitelji u listopadu 2023. pokazuje djetetovo uspješno akademsko i socijalno funkcioniranje u odnosu na primarnu dijagnozu koja je potvrđena vještačenjem što ukazuje kako primjereno koordinirana rana podrška i rana intervencija osmišljene i provedene prema kaskadnom modelu mogu imati dugoročno povoljne razvojne učinke

    Strategies for Disciplining Students in the “Old School” Practice in Croatia

    The paper examines disciplining students in the conditions of the so-called old school practice. It is based on the analysis of primary and secondary sources, as well as available pedagogical documentation and literature of the subjected era: school laws and regulations, teaching and disciplinary levels, regulations, orders and instructions. The old school was temporally determined by relevant factors and characteristics. The connection between the social environment has been established: state-political organisation, economic status and orientation, social value systems, school system and circumstances with student discipline strategies. In school practice of the old schools repressive and incentive disciplinary strategies are identified and analysed. The following forms have been identified in the area of repressive educational strategy: emotional inconveniences, deprivation of mental pleasures, social isolation and various forms of corporal punishment. According to the school regulations of the time, the following corporal punishment was granted: standing behind or next to the desk, kneeling, flogging with a prescribed stick on the palms. However, the following unlawful corporal punishments were also recorded in school practice: standing on one leg, kneeling on bare knees on grains of food or sand, hitting with a club, ruler, book; slapping, hear or ear pulling, kicking with a leg, throwing to the ground. Incentive educational strategy was based on evoking emotional comfort and was realised through praise, recognition and awards. Praises were oral and written, and recognitions were awarded in the form of diplomas or different types of medals. The awards were also material: money, clothes and footwear, items of use value, books and school supplies. Also, the results of the research show that in imposing repressive and incentive measures, the following general educational principles were recommended: gradualness, appropriateness, consistency, impartiality, justification and openness (if a repressive measure yields results, it should be annulated). The identified and described strategies of school disciplining should be viewed within the described social, political, economic framework, as well as the then school opportunities and school system. However, it is significant that the recommended educational principles in imposing disciplinary measures also have elements of modernity

    U današnjem svijetu, razvoj ekološke svijesti kod djece ključan je za osiguranje održive budućnosti. Švedska je primjer zemlje koja se predano bavi zaštitom okoliša i održivim razvojem, što je vidljivo kroz njezine obrazovne politike i praksu. Švedska raspolaže velikim brojem organizacija kojima je glavni cilj poticanje ekološke svijesti djece i odgojitelja, ali i roditelja, o važnim ekološkim pitanjima. Švedski predškolski kurikulum integrira ekologiju i održivost kao ključne aspekte obrazovanja. Programi u dječjim vrtićima fokusiraju se na učenje o recikliranju, očuvanju energije i razumijevanju prirodnih ciklusa. Posebno se naglašava važnost dječje autonomije i aktivnog sudjelovanja u odlučivanju o pitanjima koja utječu na okoliš. Švedska je posvećena obrazovanju koje promiče ekološku, socijalnu i ekonomsku održivost, s ciljem stvaranja ekološki osviještenih i odgovornih budućih građana. Ovaj pristup omogućava djeci da razviju osjećaj odgovornosti i postanu aktivni sudionici u očuvanju okoliša. Istraživanja pokazuju važnost profesionalnog usavršavanja odgojitelja kako bi se bolje razumjeli i primijenili svi aspekti održivosti u njihovom podučavanju. Primjeri iz prakse pružaju pristupe koji omogućuju djeci da na zabavan i angažiran način usvoje važnost održivosti. Također, važno je prepoznati da obrazovanje za održivost nije samo odgovornost obrazovnog sustava već i šire društvene zajednice. Istraživanja ukazuju na potrebu za promjenom pristupa u obrazovnoj praksi kako bi se još više i bolje integrirale vrijednosti održivog razvoja u svim razinama obrazovanja za održivu budućnost.In today's world, developing environmental consciousness in children is crucial to ensuring a sustainable future. Sweden is an example of a country that is committed to protecting the environment and sustainable development, which becomes apparent through its educational policies and practices. Sweden has a large number of organizations whose main goal is to encourage the environmental consciousness of children and educators, as well as parents, about important environmental issues. The Swedish preschool curriculum integrates ecology and sustainability as key aspects of education. Kindergarten programs focused on teaching children about recycling, energy conservation and understanding nature and its cycles. The importance of children's autonomy and active participation in decision-making on issues affecting the environment is particularly emphasized. Sweden is dedicated to education that promotes environmental, social and economic sustainability, with the goal of creating environmentally conscious and responsible future citizens. This approach allows children to develop a sense of responsibility and become active participants in the preservation of the environment. Researches show the importance of professional training for educators to better understand and apply all aspects of sustainability to their teachings. Case studies provide approaches that enable children to learn the importance of sustainability in a fun and engaging way. Also, it is important to recognize that education for sustainability is not only the responsibility of the educational system, but also of society. Research points to the need to change the approach in educational practice in order to integrate the values of sustainable development to all levels of education even more than it already is to assure a more sustainable future

    The development of intercultural identity of kindergarten children

    Razvoj interkulturalnog identiteta kod djece vrtićke dobi predstavlja ključan aspekt njihovog odgojno-obrazovnog procesa u sve globaliziranijem društvu. Interkulturalni identitet uključuje sposobnost pojedinca da razumije, vrednuje i integrira različite kulturne elemente, omogućujući im da djeluju u raznovrsnim kulturnim okruženjima. Cilj rada je istražiti načine na koje se može poticati razvoj interkulturalnog identiteta kod djece vrtićke dobi te identificirati ključne faktore i strategije koji pridonose tom procesu. Metodologija rada temelji se na analizi relevantne literature i teorijskih modela koji objašnjavaju interkulturalnu osjetljivost i kompetenciju. Rezultati istraživanja ukazuju na to da su odgojitelji, obitelj i predškolske ustanove ključni akteri u poticanju interkulturalnog identiteta. Uvođenjem multikulturalnih sadržaja u kurikulum, organiziranjem aktivnosti koje promoviraju kulturnu raznolikost i suradnjom s roditeljima, može se značajno unaprijediti interkulturalna kompetencija djece. Primjer iz prakse, poput norveškog modela očuvanja kulture, pokazuje kako sustavan pristup može pozitivno utjecati na razvoj interkulturalnog identiteta. Zaključno se može reći da je, u razvoju interkulturalnog identiteta kod djece vrtićke dobi, neminovna uloga sustavnog pristupa. Integriranjem teorijskih i praktičnih pristupa, rad pruža sveobuhvatan pregled ključnih elemenata koji doprinose izgradnji pozitivnog interkulturalnog identiteta. Promicanje interkulturalnog obrazovanja i otvorenosti prema različitostima može značajno doprinijeti razvoju djece kao globalnih građana sposobnih za uspješnu interkulturalnu komunikaciju i suradnju.The development of intercultural identity in preschool children represents a crucial aspect of their educational process in an increasingly globalized society. Intercultural identity encompasses an individual's ability to understand, value, and integrate different cultural elements, enabling them to operate in diverse cultural environments. The aim of the paper is to explore ways to encourage the development of intercultural identity in preschool children and to identify key factors and strategies that contribute to this process. The methodology of the paper is based on the analysis of relevant literature and theoretical models that explain intercultural sensitivity and competence. Research results indicate that educators, family, and preschool institutions are key factors in promoting intercultural identity. By introducing multicultural content into the curriculum, organizing activities that promote cultural diversity, and collaborating with parents, intercultural competence in children can be significantly enhanced. An example from the practice, such as the Norwegian model of cultural preservation, shows how a systematic approach can positively influence the development of intercultural identity. In conclusion, one can note that a systematic approach is inevitable in the development of intercultural identity in preschool children. By integrating theoretical and practical approaches, the paper provides a comprehensive overview of the key elements that contribute to the creation a positive intercultural identity. Promoting intercultural education and openness to diversity can significantly contribute to the development of children being global citizens capable of successful intercultural communication and cooperation

    Accepting diversity through puppetry workshop in kindergarten

    Odgojiteljima je u središtu interesa pronaći metode poučavanja koje su prilagođene razvojnim aspektima ranog djetinjstva. Odgojne metode koje generiraju učenje, stvaraju motivaciju, interes i privlače pažnju kod male djece pravi su izazov suvremenog odgoja. Igra s lutkom kod djece stvara osjećaj uzbuđenosti, sigurnosti i opuštenosti, a rezultat toga je poticanje razvoja mišljenja, mašte te prihvaćanje različitosti. Jedan od ciljeva ovoga rada bio je teorijski utvrditi koliko lutkarska radionica može doprinijeti prihvaćanju različitosti među djecom rane i predškolske dobi na način da se pripremi i izvede lutkarska radionica „Prihvaćanje različitosti“ koja je smišljena za potrebe pisanja ovog diplomskog rada. Radionica je pridonijela prihvaćanju različitosti već tijekom provedbe radionice što se dalo naslutiti tijekom verbalne komunikacije za vrijeme praktičnog dijela radionice.Educators’ center of interest is finding such teaching methods that are adapted to the developmental aspects of early childhood. Educational methods that generate learning, create motivation, interest and attract attention in young children are the real challenge of modern education. Playing with a doll in children creates a feeling of excitement, security and relaxation, and the result is the stimulation of the development of thinking, imagination and acceptance of differences. One of the goals of this work was to theoretically determine how much a puppetry workshop can contribute to the acceptance of diversity among early and preschool children in such a way as to prepare and perform the puppetry workshop "Acceptance of Diversity", which was designed for the purposes of writing this diploma thesis. The workshop has contributed to the acceptance of diversity already during the implementation of the workshop, which could be sensed during the verbal communication during the practical part of the workshop

    Biology and ecology of insects for preschool children

    Ovaj diplomski rad bavi se istraživanjem biologije i ekologije kukaca kao važnog dijela predškolskog odgoja, s ciljem razvoja ekološke svijesti kod djece. Kukci, kao najbrojnija skupina životinja na Zemlji, igraju ključnu ulogu u održavanju ekosustava te su idealni za približavanje temeljnih bioloških i ekoloških koncepata djeci predškolske dobi. U radu se detaljno razmatraju biološki i ekološki aspekti kukaca, njihova uloga u ekosustavu, te načini na koje se mogu integrirati u obrazovne programe za najmlađe. Rad također uključuje rezultate istraživanja provedenog putem ankete među odgojiteljima predškolske djece, koje je imalo za cilj ispitati njihovo poznavanje biologije i ekologije kukaca, kao i njihovu spremnost za provođenje aktivnosti usmjerenih na upoznavanje djece s ovim temama. Anketni rezultati ukazuju na potrebu za dodatnim obrazovanjem i resursima za odgojitelje kako bi se unaprijedila kvaliteta odgojno-obrazovnog rada u ovom području. Uz analizu postojećih pedagoških pristupa, rad prikazuje i primjer dobre prakse iz dječjeg vrtića, gdje su aktivnosti vezane uz biologiju i ekologiju kukaca uspješno implementirane. Zaključci rada naglašavaju važnost rane ekološke edukacije i kontinuiranog stručnog usavršavanja odgojitelja kako bi se potaknulo oblikovanje ekološki osviještenih generacija koje će cijeniti i očuvati prirodni svijet.This thesis explores the biology and ecology of insects as an essential component of preschool education, aiming to develop ecological awareness among children. Insects, being the most numerous group of animals on Earth, play a crucial role in maintaining ecosystems and are ideal for introducing fundamental biological and ecological concepts to preschool-aged children. The paper thoroughly examines the biological and ecological aspects of insects, their role in ecosystems, and the ways they can be integrated into educational programs for young children. The study also includes findings from a survey conducted among preschool educators, aimed at assessing their knowledge of insect biology and ecology, as well as their readiness to implement activities focused on introducing these topics to children. The survey results highlight the need for additional education and resources for educators to enhance the quality of educational work in this area. In addition to analyzing existing pedagogical approaches, the thesis presents a case study from a preschool where activities related to insect biology and ecology have been successfully implemented. The conclusions emphasize the importance of early ecological education and ongoing professional development for educators to foster the development of environmentally conscious generations that will value and preserve the natural world

    Morphological and lexical analysis of the novels Pero the Lump's gang and Fearless Ema

    Romani Druţba Pere Kvrţice autora Mate Lovraka i Ema Neustrašiva autorice Melite Rundek, iako oba pripadaju djeĉjoj knjiţevnosti, nastali su s vremenskim razmakom od gotovo 90 godina. Unatoĉ tomu što oba djela prate djeĉje zgode i pustolovine te su im djeca u glavnim ulogama, ono po ĉemu se najviše razlikuju jest jezik i stil pisanja. Tijekom vremena izmeĊu nastanka tih romana, jezik je prolazio kroz brojne promjene, što se odrazilo i u ovim djelima. Kako bi se uoĉile i razumjele razlike u jeziku ovih dvaju romana, potrebno ih je promatrati i analizirati iz specifiĉnih lingvistiĉkih perspektiva. Ovaj rad temelji se na morfološkoj i leksiĉkoj analizi. Morfologija, koja prouĉava strukturu i oblik rijeĉi te leksikologija kao grana lingvistike koja se bavi znaĉenjem i odnosima meĊu rijeĉima, posluţit će za utvrĊivanje jeziĉnih razlika izmeĊu romana. Ovakav pristup omogućit će i dublje razumijevanje uloge jezika u definiranju prostora i vremena u kojima se radnja svakog od romana odvija.The novels Pero the Lump's gang by Mate Lovrak and Fearless Ema by Melita Rundek, although both belonging to children's literature, were written almost 90 years apart. Despite both works depicting children's adventures and featuring children as the main characters, what distinguishes them the most is the language and style of writing. Over the time span between the creation of these novels, the language underwent numerous changes, which is reflected in these works as well. To identify and understand the differences in the language of these two novels, it is necessary to examine and analyze them from specific linguistic perspectives. This paper focuses on morphological and lexical analysis. Morphology, which studies the structure and form of words, and lexicology, a branch of linguistics dealing with the meaning and relationships between words, will help determine the linguistic differences between the novels. Such an approach will enable a deeper understanding of the role of language in defining the setting and time in which the action of each novel takes place

    Supporting the holistic development of children from socially marginalized groups through the civil society organizations projects

    Podržavanje cjelovitog razvoja djece iz socijalno marginaliziranih skupina ključan je korak prema stvaranju društva koje cijeni jednakost i pravednost. Djeca iz ovih skupina suočavaju se s nizom prepreka koje mogu ograničiti njihov razvoj i otežati ostvarenje njihovih potencijala. Socijalna marginalizacija često rezultira ograničenim pristupom obrazovanju, zdravstvenim uslugama, te kulturnim i sportskim aktivnostima, što dugoročno može dovesti do društvene isključenosti. Provođenje projekata usmjerenih na pomoć djeci u riziku od socijalne isključenosti od iznimne je važnosti jer se time direktno smanjuju posljedice socijalne nejednakosti i omogućava im se ravnopravan početak u životu. Ovi projekti, koje često provode udruge civilnog društva, omogućuju stvaranje inkluzivnih prostora u kojima djeca mogu razvijati svoje vještine, stjecati samopouzdanje i graditi zdrave socijalne odnose. Kroz ciljane aktivnosti, djeca imaju priliku dobiti podršku koja im je potrebna za prevladavanje izazova, a ujedno se potiče i šira zajednica da prepozna i odgovori na potrebe najugroženijih članova društva. Tako, projekti koji pomažu djeci iz socijalno marginaliziranih skupina imaju dugoročan pozitivan utjecaj ne samo na pojedince, već i na društvo u cjelini, stvarajući temelj za održiv razvoj i socijalnu koheziju. Ovaj rad prikazat će jedan takav projekt koji je osmišljen i proveden od strane Romskog resursnog centra u Dardi i Fakulteta za odgojne i obrazovne znanosti u Osijeku.Supporting the integral development of children from socially marginalized groups is a key step towards creating a society that values equality and justice. Children from these groups face a number of obstacles that can limit their development and make it difficult to realize their potential. Social marginalization often results in limited access to education, health services, and cultural and sports activities, which in the long run can lead to social exclusion. The implementation of projects aimed at helping these children is extremely important because it directly reduces the consequences of social inequality and enables them to have an equal start in life. These projects, which are often carried out by civil society associations, enable the creation of inclusive spaces where children can develop their skills, gain self-confidence and build healthy social relationships. Through targeted activities, children have the opportunity to receive the support they need to overcome challenges, and at the same time, the wider community is encouraged to recognize and respond to the needs of the most vulnerable members of society. In this way, projects that help children from socially marginalized groups have a long-term positive impact not only on individuals, but also on society as a whole, creating a foundation for sustainable development and social cohesion. This paper will present one such project designed and implemented by the Roma Resource Center in Darda and the Faculty of Educational in Osijek

    Modernity and tradition - digital media in the teaching of literature for students of younger school age

    Preobrazba književnosti u suvremenom dobu rezultat je brojnih čimbenika, uključujući tehnološki napredak, promjene u društvenim normama i raznih načina na koji konzumiramo sadržaj. Ovaj rad istražuje ulogu digitalnih medija u nastavi književnosti, s posebnim naglaskom na njihov doprinos očuvanju tradicionalnih književnih vrijednosti te poticanju razvoja kritičkog mišljenja i interpretacije teksta. Istraživanje je provedeno u rujnu 2024. godine na uzorku od 78 studenata Učiteljskog studija u Osijeku, pri čemu su prikupljeni podaci o percepciji i korištenju digitalnih alata u obrazovnom procesu. Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju da ispitanici prepoznaju značaj digitalnih medija u obogaćivanju nastave književnosti. Među najomiljenijim alatima istaknule su se interaktivne prezentacije, kvizovi i igre, dok su e-knjige i podcasti imali manju popularnost. Impresivnih 83,3 % ispitanika potvrđuje da digitalni alati povećavaju angažman učenika, što ukazuje na njihov potencijal za motivaciju i aktivno sudjelovanje u nastavi. Kada je riječ o doprinosu digitalnih medija u očuvanju književnih vrijednosti, rezultati su mješoviti. Samo 12,8 % ispitanika smatra da digitalni mediji u velikoj mjeri pomažu u očuvanju tih vrijednosti, dok 46,2 % vjeruje da ne doprinose tom cilju. Ovi nalazi naglašavaju potrebu za pažljivim pristupom u integraciji digitalnih alata kako bi se osiguralo da ne dođe do površnijeg shvaćanja književnih djela. Ispitanici također ističu važnost kombinacije tradicionalnih i digitalnih metoda u nastavi. Čak 30,8 % njih ocjenjuje ovu kombinaciju vrlo efikasnom, dok 57,7 % smatra da je efikasna. Ovi podaci sugeriraju da većina ispitanika prepoznaje vrijednost uravnoteženog pristupa, gdje se klasične metode nadopunjuju suvremenim tehnologijama. Kroz analizu rezultata, rad zaključuje da digitalni mediji imaju potencijal za obogaćivanje nastave književnosti, no istodobno ukazuje na izazove u očuvanju tradicionalnih književnih vrijednosti. Usklađenost između tradicionalnih pristupa i digitalnih alata smatra se ključnom za postizanje optimalnih obrazovnih rezultata. Ova istraživanja pružaju temelj za daljnje proučavanje i razvoj strategija koje će omogućiti uspješnu integraciju digitalnih medija u nastavu književnosti, osiguravajući tako da obrazovni proces bude dinamičan, relevantan i prilagođen potrebama suvremenih učenika.The transformation of literature in contemporary times is the result of numerous factors, including technological advancement, changes in social norms, and the numerous ways of how we consume content. This Master's Thesis explores the role of digital media in literature education, with a particular focus on their contribution to preserving traditional literary values and fostering the development of critical thinking and text interpretation. The research was conducted in September 2024, involving a sample of 78 students from the Teacher Education Program in Osijek, during which data was collected on the perception and use of digital tools in the educational process. The results of the research indicate that respondents recognize the significance of digital media in enriching literature education. Among the most favored tools are interactive presentations, quizzes, and games, while e-books and podcasts are less popular. An impressive 83,3 % of respondents confirm that digital tools increase student engagement, highlighting their potential for motivation and active participation in lessons. When it comes to the contribution of digital media to the preservation of literary values, the results are mixed. Only 12,8 % of respondents believe that digital media significantly aid in preserving these values, while 46,2 % think they do not contribute to this goal. These findings emphasize the need for a careful approach in integrating digital tools to ensure that there is no superficial understanding of literary works. Respondents also highlight the importance of combining traditional and digital methods in teaching. As many as 30,8 % rate this combination as very effective, while 57,7 % consider it effective. This data suggests that the majority of respondents recognize the value of a balanced approach, where classical methods are complemented by modern technologies. Through the analysis of the results, the paper concludes that digital media have the potential to enrich literature education, while also pointing to challenges in preserving traditional literary values. The alignment between traditional approaches and digital tools is seen as crucial for achieving optimal educational outcomes. This research provides a foundation for further exploration and development of strategies that will enable the successful integration of digital media into literature education, while ensuring that the educational process is dynamic, relevant, and tailored to the needs of contemporary students

    Profesionalno usavršavanje odgojitelja ključno je za kvalitetu ranog i predškolskog odgoja te obrazovanja. Kao dio cjeloživotnog obrazovanja, omogućuje odgojiteljima stjecanje novih znanja, vještina i kompetencija potrebnih za rad u promjenjivim uvjetima suvremenog društva. Kontinuirano učenje odgojitelja ne samo da unaprjeđuje njihovu osobnu i profesionalnu kompetenciju, već ima izravan utjecaj na kvalitetu rada s djecom i njihovo obrazovno iskustvo. Profesionalni razvoj odgojitelja omogućuje odgojitelju bolje razumijevanje dječjih potreba, razvojnih faza i specifičnih metoda rada koje doprinose stvaranju poticajnog okruženja za odrastanje. U radu će se prikazati različite mogućnosti profesionalnog usavršavanja odgojitelja kao dijela cjeloživotnog obrazovanja.Professional development of educators is essential for the quality of early childhood and preschool education. As part of lifelong learning, it enables educators to acquire new knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to work in the changing conditions of modern society. Continuous learning not only enhances their personal and professional competence, but also has a direct impact on the quality of work with children and their educational experience. The professional development of educators allows them to better understand children's needs, developmental stages, and specific working methods that contribute to creating a stimulating environment for growth. This paper will present various opportunities for the professional development of educators as part of lifelong education
