Household Purposes in A Single Touch Via Bluetooth Using Smartphones
Technology emerges in our environment day by day. But, still, we lag in keep on using multiple remotes for every device in our homes. Once Bluetooth came up it changes. People started using mobile phones connected to their devices to hear songs wireless and change channels using a mobile phone. A further implementation is kept on moving with multiple remotes for their usage. So, we had an idea that all our household devices may be controlled on our mobile phones via Bluetooth which is cheaper even for urban peoples. Now, all home devices with remote are IR based which doesn't work on sunlight, fluorescent bulbs due to interference. Switch over Bluetooth control reduces remotes in a sense called plastics. Mobile applications are evolved user-friendly to all the people on the day to day lives. Merge those applications to the household devices to control all household devices operated via remote such as TV, DVD, Home theatres, AC, even Table fan etc., Instead of removing IR's just interface Bluetooth chip on those household devices to control every remote device by using your smartphone. Why I am moving to Bluetooth instead of Wi-Fi. Bluetooth is cheaper, advanced to control devices in the range of 50 meters. But IR is useful to 10 meters, and once you block the signal, it will not work
Electrical Interference Problemson Commercial Fishing Vessels – A Review
Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) provides Marine Communications centre (MCC) with financial assistance surveyed for Electromagnetic Compatibility and Electromagnetic Interference (EMC/EMI) correlated troubles on industrial based fishing vessels less than twenty metres. The electrical condition should be provided for the vessels and it is the goal of the survey. By performing "electrical noise" measurement method the necessary data was obtained. Several autopilot systems are susceptible to High Frequency Single Side Band (HF SSB) transmitters due to the absence of electrical noise suppression scheme. The main objective of the survey is to analyse the better electrical noise suppression method for fishing vessels
Multi-Channel Preemptive Priority Model for Spectrum Mobility in Cognitive Radio Networks
Cognitive Radio techniques have been proposed for improving utilization of the spectrum by exploiting the unoccupied bands of the licensed spectrum. This paper proposes a preemptive multi-channel access model for prioritized cognitive radio networks using an iterative method of queuing theory to solve the spectrum scarcity problem. The proposed model formulates accurate closed form of an expected waiting time in the queue, an expected number of users in the queue, an expected waiting time in the system, and an expected number of users in the system. The results compared to the basic model (without preemptive priority)show that, the waiting time in queue and the waiting time in the system compared to the basic model will be improved by 92.99% and 33.15% respectively for class one secondary user. The results also show that, the waiting time in queue and the waiting time in the system will be improved by 43.25% and 15.42% respectively for class two secondary users. The proposed model investigates the desirable schedules of primary and secondary users.
Prediction based efficient resource provisioning and its impact on QoS parameters in the cloud environment
The purpose of this paper is to provision the on demand resources to the end users as per their need using prediction method in cloud computing environment. The provisioning of virtualized resources to cloud consumers according to their need is a crucial step in the deployment of applications on the cloud. However, the dynamical management of resources for variable workloads remains a challenging problem for cloud providers. This problem can be solved by using a prediction based adaptive resource provisioning mechanism, which can estimate the upcoming resource demands of applications. The present research introduces a prediction based resource provisioning model for the allocation of resources in advance. The proposed approach facilitates the release of unused resources in the pool with quality of service (QoS), which is defined based on prediction model to perform the allocation of resources in advance. In this work, the model is used to determine the future workload prediction for user requests on web servers, and its impact toward achieving efficient resource provisioning in terms of resource exploitation and QoS. The main contribution of this paper is to develop the prediction model for efficient and dynamic resource provisioning to meet the requirements of end users
Coordinated Placement and Setting of FACTS in Electrical Network based on Kalai-Smorodinsky Bargaining Solution and Voltage Deviation Index
To aid the decision maker, the optimal placement of FACTS in the electrical network is performed through very specific criteria. In this paper, a useful approach is followed; it is based particularly on the use of Kalai-Smorodinsky bargaining solution for choosing the best compromise between the different objectives commonly posed to the network manager such as the cost of production, total transmission losses (Tloss), and voltage stability index (Lindex). In the case of many possible solutions, Voltage Profile Quality is added to select the best one. This approach has offered a balanced solution and has proven its effectiveness in finding the best placement and setting of two types of FACTS namely Static Var Compensator (SVC) and Thyristor Controlled Series Compensator (TCSC) in the power system. The test case under investigation is IEEE-14 bus system which has been simulated in MATLAB Environment.
Adding Psychological Factor in the Model of Electricity Consumption in Office Building
Researches indicate that energy behaviour is the key to energy conservation and suggest that comparative feedback on energy usage can generate savings in residential and organizational settings. In implementing comparative feedback in workplace, there are two different ways to disaggregate collective energy consumption and apportion it to building users; individual or group level. This research uses agent-based modelling and simulation to examine the impact of applying different approaches of energy data apportionment to change staff behaviour toward energy consumption reduction. A simulation model of energy consumption in workplace as a base model is a re-implementation and simplification from former research. Several psychological factors and decision-making mechanism are then being added as an extension. The model divides staffs into four energy awareness stereotypes based on motivation level. Sensitivity analysis suggests that motivation is an important factor in changing user’s behaviour and the experiment results indicates greater potential for energy saving when energy usage is apportioned to group level. The significant difference of energy consumption level makes user with low and medium motivation should become the target of energy reduction campaign
A Miniaturized Patch Antenna Designed and Manufactured Using Slot's Technique for RFID UHF Mobile Applications
In this research work, a novel compact antenna with rectangular slots is presented for radio frequency identification (RFID) handled applications in the ultrahigh frequency (UHF) band that can be manufactured and integrated into RFID readers without difficult. A prototype demonstrating the aforementioned features was constructed and measured. The proposed antenna is fed by 50-Ω coaxial cable and printed on a 1.6mm thick FR4 substrate which has a small size and occupies a volume of 68×66 ×1.6mm3. The patch, the feed-line and ground plane are made of PEC (Perfect Electric Conductor) with a thickness of 0.035 mm. Measured results indicate that the proposed antenna has a good impedance matching characteristic ranging from 889–939 MHz, which covers the USA RFID-band (902–928MHz), the Chinese RFID-operating-band (920–924.5MHz), and the Korea and Japan RFID-band (917–923.5MHz). These results were achieved by the insertion of slots in the compact structure of the antenna. The electromagnetic simulators HFSS (High Frequency structure simulator) and CST (Computer Simulation Technology) microwave studio were used for the design, modeling and simulation of the antenna. RMEER: Reliable Multi-path Energy Efficient Routing Protocol for Underwater Wireless Sensor Network
Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks (UWSNs) is interesting area for researchers. To extract the information from seabed to water surface the the majority numbers of routing protocols has been introduced. The design of routing protocols faces many challenges like deployment of sensor nodes, controlling of node mobility, development of efficient route for data forwarding, prolong the battery power of the sensor nodes, and removal of void nodes from active data forwarding paths. This research article focuses the design of the Reliable Multipath Energy Efficient Routing (RMEER) which develops the efficient route between sensor nodes, and prolongs the battery life of the nodes. RMEER is a scalable and robust protocol which utilizes the powerful fixed courier nodes in order to enhance the network throughput, data delivery ratio, network lifetime and reduces the end-to-end delay. RMEER is also an energy efficient routing protocol for saving the energy level of the nodes. We have used the NS2.30 simulator with AquaSim package for performance analysis of RMEER. We observed that the simulation performance of RMEER is better than D-DBR protocol
Music Emotion Classification based on Lyrics-Audio using Corpus based Emotion
Music has lyrics and audio. That’s components can be a feature for music emotion classification. Lyric features were extracted from text data and audio features were extracted from audio signal data.In the classification of emotions, emotion corpus is required for lyrical feature extraction. Corpus Based Emotion (CBE) succeed to increase the value of F-Measure for emotion classification on text documents. The music document has an unstructured format compared with the article text document. So it requires good preprocessing and conversion process before classification process. We used MIREX Dataset for this research. Psycholinguistic and stylistic features were used as lyrics features. Psycholinguistic feature was a feature that related to the category of emotion. In this research, CBE used to support the extraction process of psycholinguistic feature. Stylistic features related with usage of unique words in the lyrics, e.g. ‘ooh’, ‘ah’, ‘yeah’, etc. Energy, temporal and spectrum features were extracted for audio features. The best test result for music emotion classification was the application of Random Forest methods for lyrics and audio features. The value of F-measure was 56.8%
Performance Analysis of IEEE 802.15.4 Transceiver System under Adaptive White Gaussian Channel
Zigbee technology has been developed for short range wireless sensor networks and it follows IEEE 802.15.4 standard. For such sensors, several considerations should be taken including; low data rate and less design complexity in order to achieve efficient performance considering to the transceiver systems. This research focuses on implementing a digital transceiver system for Zigbee sensor based on IEEE 802.15.4. The system is implemented using offset quadrature phase shift keying (OQPSK) modulation technique with half sine pulse-shaping method. Direct conversion scheme has been used in the design of Zigbee receiver in order to fulfill the requirements mentioned above. System performance is analyzed considering to BER when it encountered adaptive white Gaussian noise (AWGN), besides showing the effect of using direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) technique
