    Impacts of Embedded Generation on Distribution Network Behavior

    This paper explores the impacts of multiple embedded generators penetration on distribution system behavior. For this rationale, a IEEE-13 bus distribution feeder was modeled and investigates by assimilating different types of embedded generation (EG) sources. Different scenarios were implemented in which WIND, SOFC FUEL CELL, SOLAR and MICRO TURBINE plants were modeled with high variability of load and generation to observe their impacts on system’s protection, unsymmetrical faults also consider observing impacts effectively. To eradicate the impacts on distribution system with presence of EG’s and distribution system undergone in the event of faults, in this paper primarily reverse power due to EG integration is estimated and sensed with reverse power relay, Further two types of Superconducting Fault Current Limiters Passive resonance CB (PRCB) SFCL and Inverse current injection CB (I-CB are proposed and results are compared for amended solution in mitigating fault current magnitude and over voltages, Finally penetrations levels are computed mathematically and All the modeling and simulations were carried out using MATLAB SIMULINK tool

    Enlarge Medical Image using Line-Column Interpolation (LCI) Method

    Quality of medical image has an important role in constructing right medical diagnosis. This paper recommends a method to improve the quality of medical images by increasing the size of the image pixels. By increasing the size of pixels, the size of the objects contained therein is also greater, making it easier to observe. In this study medical images of Brain CT-Scan, Chest X-Ray and Panoramic X-Ray were processed using Line-Column Interpolation (LCI) Method. The results of the treatment are then compared to Nearest Neighbor Interpolation (NNI), Bilinear Interpolation (BLI) and Bicubic Interpolation (BCI) processing results. The experiment shows that Line-Column Interpolation Method produces a larger image with details of the objects in it are not blurred and has equal visual effects. Thus, this method is expected to be a reference material in enlarging the size of the medical image for ease in clinical analysis

    Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) based Data Hiding in Image Complex Region

    This paper presents data an Ant colony optimization (ACO) based data hiding technique. ACO is used to detect complex region of cover image and afterward, least significant bits (LSB) substitution is used to hide secret information in the detected complex regions’ pixels. ACO is an algorithm developed inspired by the inborn manners of ant species. The ant leaves pheromone on the ground for searching food and provisions. The proposed ACO-based data hiding in complex region establishes an array of pheromone, also called pheromone matrix, which represents the complex region in sequence at each pixel position of the cover image. The pheromone matrix is developed according to the movements of ants, determined by local differences of the image element’s intensity. The least significant bits of complex region pixels are substituted with message bits, in order to hide secret information. The experimental results, provided, show the significance of the performance of the proposed method

    Evaluation of a Multiple Regression Model for Noisy and Missing Data

    The standard data collection problems may involve noiseless data while on the other hand large organizations commonly experience noisy and missing data, probably concerning data collected from individuals. As noisy and missing data will be significantly worrisome for occasions of the vast data collection then the investigation of different filtering techniques for big data environment would be remarkable. A multiple regression model where big data is employed for experimenting will be presented. Approximation for datasets with noisy and missing data is also proposed. The statistical root mean squared error (RMSE) associated with correlation coefficient (COEF) will be analyzed to prove the accuracy of estimators. Finally, results predicted by massive online analysis (MOA) will be compared to those real data collected from the following different time. These theoretical predictions with noisy and missing data estimation by simulation, revealing consistency with the real data are illustrated. Deletion mechanism (DEL) outperforms with the lowest average percentage of error

    FIToplankton: Wireless Controlled Remotely-operated Underwater Vehicle (ROV) for Shallow Water Exploration

    Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) for underwater exploration is typically controlled using umbilical cable connected to ground control station. Unfortunately, while it’s used for power distribution and data transmission, it also obstruct the movement of ROV especially for shallow water (<50 cm). This paper proposed an alternative method for controlling ROV using wireless remote control system. This work also aims to explore the possibility of using RF wireless technology between 420-450 MHz as underwater communication system. Furthermore, the control system was used to manage actuators i.e. DC motor and bilge pump for maneuvring and picking small size cargo. To help the ROV to hold on a desired, Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) is installed on board ROV within maximum deviation 0.2 m/s2. The prototype of the system has been successfully implemented and evaluated to confirm the  functionality and the feasibility of the proposed approach

    Near Optimal Receive Antenna Selection Scheme for MIMO System under Spatially Correlated Channel

    Spatial correlation is a critical impairment for practical Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) wireless communication systems. To overcome this issue, one of the solutions is receive antenna selection. Receive antenna selection offers low-cost, low-complexity and It does not require feedback bit alternative option to capture many of the advantages of MIMO systems. In this paper, symbol error rate (SER) versus signal to noise ratio (SNR) performance comparasion of proposed receive antenna selection scheme for full rate non-orthogonal Space Time Block Code (STBC) is obtained using simulations in MIMO systems under spatially correlated channel at transmit and receive antenna in comparison with several existing receive antenna selection schemes. The performance of proposed receive antenna selection scheme is same as conventional (i.e. maximum likelihood) scheme and beat all other existing schemes

    Effect of Feature Selection on Gene Expression Datasets Classification Accuracy

    Feature selection attracts researchers who deal with machine learning and data mining. It consists of selecting the variables that have the greatest impact on the dataset classification, and discarding the rest. This dimentionality reduction allows classifiers to be fast and more accurate. This paper traits the effect of feature selection on the accuracy of widely used classifiers in literature. These classifiers are compared with three real datasets which are pre-processed with feature selection methods. More than 9% amelioration in classification accuracy is observed, and k-means appears to be the most sensitive classifier to feature selection

    The study is aimed to determine the measurement of sensor tool made in Model Real Time Hybrid LFG-PV-Genset by finding the correction factor produced at TPA Bontang City, East Borneo. The research was conducted by using ampere clammeter, variable voltage regulator, thermometer, odalog7000 series.  The calculation results  show that the calibration test of Model Real Time Hybrid LFG-PV-Genset from MQ4 sensor data that has been designed capable of having errors of 1,91% and the LM35 temperature sensor is capable of monitoring tempertures of 30°C to 120°C and has an error value of 0,519°C. ZMPT 101B voltage sensor has a linear output change to input changes and has an average error of 1.499V. While the current sensor SCT 013 has an aerage error value of 0,0022A CO2

    Design of Solar Powered Charging Backpack

    This paper demonstrated a step by step process in designing a solar powered charging backpack that is capable of charging a mobile phone efficiently. A selection of existing products available on the market were reviewed and compared to ascertain the cost, size, and output capabilities. Next, the solar cell types and regulators were compared and their respective merits were also investigated. The charging system was then designed and tested before being integrated with the backpack. The results clearly showed that the system managed to charge the mobile phone. However, it was found that the excessive power dissipation has caused the linear regulator to generate significant heat

    Design of Optimal LLCL Filter with an Improved Control Strategy for Single Phase Grid Connected PV Inverter

    The third order LLCL filter is gaining more attractive in grid connected PV inverter in terms of material cost saving than LCL filter. Several active and passive damping techniques prevail in mitigating the resonance problem for maintaining the grid power quality standards. In this paper an improved passive damping is examined with reduction of power loss for the LLCL filter. Particularly, it reduces the switching ripple much better than LCL filter, with a decrease in volume of the inductance. The filter design is also developed for the operation of stiff grid. Mathematical operations and transfer function are derived with frequency response for the accuracy of the filter design. In addition, comparative analysis of passive and improved passive damping control is proposed. The control strategy is improved with feedback linearization in order to avoid the glitches in inverter control and is verified with prototype grid connected PV inverter
